Plant Shopping at Terrain in Glen Mills, PA - Vlog 035

- Right before the whole coronavirus quarantine, I was able to sneak down to Philadelphia area and visit Terrain in Glen Mills, PA. Though it was raining outside and couldn't do much filming outside the greenhouse and shops because of that-the whole grounds, (which used to be an old nursery and farm), was so delightful. This video takes us through their shade house to see what they had for sale.

My heart melted a bit when Summer scooped the burro tail babies off the ground and made a point to pour them back into the pot 🥰
Summer, I love how educational, inspirational, and joyful you make indoor jungle gardening. I especially appreciate you keeping us up-to-date with current botanical nomenclature. Thank you for all you do. 💙
So well said 👍
I agree. I braved repotting and propagating today .I had to get the mixes after watching yesterday. Will repot more tomorrow.I see importance of aerating roots
Hello Summer, I live in Melbourne Australia and we are in lock down 4. I'm desperate to go plant shopping, I miss walking around nurseries so much. Today I watched your plant house tour that you recently made and even though I've watched it before, I watched it again. I'm loving my indoor plants during lock down and I'm grateful to have a garden in my front and back yard as well as my many indoor plants. Take care Summer, I love your videos, thank you so much
So love seeing you in my neck of the woods. I love Terrain, it is where I go after the native flower sale at the Brandywine Conservatory and Museum. My husband gives me an envelope and carries all of my plants as he walks behind me laughing as I squeal with delight. It’s the best Mother’s Day gift besides my children and grand babies!
Fun Fact: this video is perfect with coffee!
thanks for the tip cos I'm gonna cosy up with cuppa TEA!
Wake and bake!
😊
A cheesecake
Some strawberries and a nice person to watch it with
TELL THAT TO MY TEA... 🍵
Waking up to a video from you means I’ll have a great Sunday! Good morning Summer 🌞
beautiful say
I’m currently stuck inside and have been since February. I can’t thank you enough for the tour and helping me with a bit of a plant fix 😂 Love them all!!!! 💋💖🦋
In addition to making me ache to go plant shopping, I'm really loving all your fun plant inspired clothing choices! :)
I was fortunate to have visited this place. They have an excellent selection and the staff was very helpful. Thank you for sharing your experience.
It amazes me all the knowledge you hold in your head. Thank you for this tour. Always informative and enjoyable.
Ahh that's so close to were I grew up! It was always such a treat to go look around there with my mom growing up.
I would go broke in that shop, beautiful.
I feeeel you!!!!!!!
@@jovanessavf164 a whole paycheck!
@@aremacsnel OMG yes! Been there, done that! Ugh!
Good morning Summer, I'm glad to learn about a new plant nursery near my neck of the woods. After watching your channel for 2-3 months, you have educated and inspired me to become a plant mommy - in which I now have different plants all over the interior and exterior of the house. Thanks for being an inspiration 😁
u have my dream job u get to travel see all these amazing gardens and plant shops and u can buy all kinds of amazing plants so lucky
Well, I must say that Terrain has upped their game...I haven’t seen the place so well stocked for a while! Thanks for the tour😀😀
Oh man, I live so close to there. Terrain is owned by Anthropologie so their prices are a bit steep but it’s such a beautiful and inspirational place.
Agreed, quite steep indeed.
That's Glen Mills for you. I wouldn't expect any less.
Beautiful plant tour! Thank you, Summer! ❤️
Thank you for naming each plant. I got familiarized with those plants you have presented. Stay safe and healthy. God bless you more!!!
Cool. Thanks for the tour of a shop very near me that I'll visit soon. Some really great varieties that I'm looking forward to adopting.
Aloha Ms Summer! You are always gorgeous, I admired you so much of being environmentalists, so clever I can’t imagine how smart you are knowing all types of plants, trees . I don’t usually giving a comment but I keep on watching you. Have a nice day🌵🍀❤️
Love Terrain's online catalog choices and I did purchase their book on how they got started. (book photos are great) Thanks for taking us along once again. Stay safe everyone!!
These videos are so cosy. I love the gloomy weather outside and going inside to a jungle like this!
I can feel my wallet getting lighter as I watch more of this xD I need more and more senecios. The podocarpus looks amazing. It gives the impression of a mini bamboo forest. Also, side note, the romper is 👍👍👍👍👍👍
What an enchanting little spot
Halo summer.... Thanks for the video, It pleasant and lovely though can't touch them
Always educational with Summer Rayne THANK YOU for sharing your wisdom. By the way nice outfit🥰🍀☘️🌿🌱
I have browsed through their gorgeous & pricey plant pots online previously. So, what plant person wouldn't love a visit to that nursery. Wow was that lovely. I wish KY and PA weren't so far apart. Thanks for the tour Summer. I appreciate your content.
Wow.. beautiful shade house garden design with different flower species,... N new music ...love it
Those plants are lovely....
Thank you for your nice Video...Summer Rayne!!
I looove when you do nursery tours!
So many things I would buy there if it were close to me.
Great tour. I love the woven baskets they have. They have all the regular plants and some more hard to find ones too. That gift shop.... I could tell it'd awesome in there.
Wow. What your just said about philodendron scrambled and not going up Brings smaller leaves 🍁 you are so right. Wow 😳 Thanks!
Good morning! ☀️ I love shopping at Terrain! I’ve not been to this location in Pennsylvania. But visited the one in Connecticut a few years ago. Thanks for the tour!
What a gorgeous place to browse and get decorative ideas.😊👏🏼👏🏼
I enjoyed this video while sipping on my tea so much. Thank you!
OMG the whole building looks amazing! 😮😍
I'm going there in 2 weeks to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I can't wait, it looks amazing! Thank you for the tour 😊
That hoya on the pole is Hoya carnosa. Hoya tsangii is an entirely different species with small thin leaves, yellow flowers, and no vining habit.
It looks beautiful, I would spend a fortune in there. I always wondered why my echeveria grew like a tree, thanks.
I love this video, sooo nice just to relax with these!
The place looks great. Thanks for the tour
I love ❤️ the explanation about Echeverría succulent and Peperomia. I killed over watering my Peperomia Variegata! Thanks 😊
Love the tour. My experience with a philodendron micans I've had for 15 plus years is different from yours as it keeps it's dark velvety quality. I don't do anything special. I keep it in medium light. I do enjoy your content and always find your videos educational and interesting. Thank you for what you share.
Just lovely
Thank you for this very informative tour as I keep many of the plants featured and not always successfullu, especially ferns, my favorite.
Yes, maidenhair ferns look so inviting and it went ugly at my home toilet. Please, more of this Terrain place. That mushroom hut so so pretty and got me so curious. And love their different planters and plant deco.
Beautiful plant tour, thank you.
I live in lock haven Pennsylvania! You should do a video about the types of plants you commonly saw growing up in Pennsylvania! I know you cover this in your book, but I’d love to see a guided video showing the beauty of nature in Pennsylvania!
I got one of the strawberry begonias in a hanging basket - another wishlist plant. It’s pretty!
Thank you so much for sharing those brilliant tips! Watching from China, keep going
Loved this tour, and all your tours! Worth while :)
Loving the video but cringing a little when she touches the powder covered succulents 😱
This store is about 15 minutes away, but I never ended up making it inside. Thanks for showing me! Maybe I will visit soon. :)
So cool! I believe that multi colored Philodendron is a Prince of Orange but I could be wrong. Love your videos! 💕
Terrain is awesome! Are you heading to Longwood next?
yew plum is such a revelation
I would have went crazy in that store and bought so many plants 😂
Omg I wish i would've known i would've driven down too🤗 im in the poconos of PA what a beautiful shop!
Very cool to see Dudleya for sale outside of their native range. Here in coastal California you can find them often at nurseries and occasionally at big box stores. I have a traskiae, a britonnii, and a couple farinosa. In our climate, if you pot them up with some good cactus soil and keep them outside then you barely have to do anything to care for them.
Oh my goodness how did I not know about this place! I just told my husband we’re taking a road trip there...it’s only 40 minutes from me😳
Smashed it today, wrecking bar in the hand all day. Im getting good at this, i only had 2 splits all day. Had to put a jigsaw to the blues, not worth the effort. Man im excited about building this. Im thinking just to do a bit at a time, few beds at a time, then just wood chip everything. Im telling you, carry on like this and ill soon be living in my geodesic dome.
Another excellent video with lots of great information, I do not know how someone could fit those great big plants in their vehicle, but just amazing plants just the same.
So comprehensive. thanks.
I would like to be right next to Summer on a plant hunting, like a little 5th grade boy listening and absorbing all her knowledge.
I think your advice on the Alocasia Polly is right on! NEVER will I bring another "mother of spider mites" into my home. ;) I am continuing to try, try, try with my Maidenhair fern, but she certainly is a delicate one, so far I'm extremely impressed that I've had her over a year now. Lovely tour as always, especially appreciate all your tips and helpful knowledge along the way.
Lovely, I’m going to check it out.
Rayne you are doing such a lovely job taking us on this beautiful plant tour The plants are so beautiful and full of color you are such an inspiration to us plant lovers.
That is so true i love her channel
You are so right i love her channel

Loved this video ty
Woow.wonderful
Really enjoy your videos 💚
Loved it👍🏻🥰
Pretty, How I wish to
see them as they are.
wanna go there to have all the plants.so nice
awesome shopping day Summer :)
That's a great place. I've never been there, but have read about it and viewed the photos. The restaurant is beautiful, with all the hanging plants and surrounding greenery. I enjoyed the tour. I like how you described the pros and cons of all the plants. Maidenhair ferns...forget it, for me. I have one in a terrarium, with all the humidity..making sure it doesn't dry out....still doesn't work. It's one of many plants that's on my "no-no" list. They are gorgeous, though...as well as other ferns. I'll maybe try one of the hardier ones shown on the tour. Thanks, Summer.
I got an Othonna capensis! It was a wishlist plant. I hope I can keep it alive! ❤️
This is what i like about Summer: she can identify the plants & rattle off their scientific names!
Exelent information,thank you😀
I have an old maiden hair ferns in my sunroom...spores have started in most pots of plants in there..the spores started on the lava stone center of my 2ft. Oval fountain, so now it looks like a pot with a foot tall maiden hair but it is a working fountain...no soil just 1 lava rock watered by fountain...you can leave a pot of soil under ferns, and spores will drop in it...great for terrarium situation..I'm in N.W. Oregon...humidity high.
Hey Summer, you are in my neck of the woods... I was just there last month 😁
fantastic place
Super nice the ferns
Zebrina😍😍😍 lov all those plants
Beautiful😍😍😍😍
I have been to two Terrains and they were both attached to Anthropology and they are both beautiful! I love their rustic charm! One of my favorite parts is that they sell Bergs Potter planters! One of the shirts from Anthropology caught my eye and I went over to look and upon seeing the price tag I thought “OK nevermind” lol. Sadly, I moved out of state and all the plant stores I discovered are one of the things I miss.
You’re so smart and inspiring I like following
Fortuitous timing enroute there after visiting Wedgewoodgardens. 😆 🤣 😂
Hello Summer. Citrus plant just around the corner on Baltic is my favorite auto mechanic in Brooklyn, store is LUU who has a passion for citrus where he wheels his plants outdoors every day. You can pay him a visit to catch a glimpse and rather decent mechanic also, Nam.
thumbs up fro that huge crassula! that and portulcaria afra r my fav to bonsai. just got a port with a ton of corking about 3 inche trunk from wiggerts 10in pot pre bonsai for 50 bucks. plus shipping of course cause in a newyorker too
Beautiful outfit Summer.
Love this video! Any tips on growing Autumn Fern? Would love a video with that one
so.. had to stop and rewind after I nearly spit my drink out at 10:41.. the Philodendron williamsii. I'm packing my brain trying to learn all of the correct plant names, and didn't know I needed to conjure into my memory palace an image of the "Black Eyed Peas". ;)
Hi Summer i like you so much your videos ar so amazing my first comment at your chanal but i watch your videos for so long ago just to now that from Serbia !
So I wonder why oxalis is hardly talked about,so many pretty varieties. I am a fan...
