The extension Nux was talking about is called "Nuxify" It has experimental Dubbing where it momentarily mutes the video your watching when someone says "I" or "me" before showing the thumbnail image of Nux pointing, an AI voice says "We" or "Us" with a vine boom in the background then the image fades. It also changes thumbnails that are basic to include Nux however there's a toggle to do it for *every video* .... This is fucking stupid & i love it
Instead of AI, they should have just sampled him saying "We" and "us" from some of his videos, so it would actually be his voice. That would have been awesome!

"Most of my money comes from ads" Honey made an ad blocker app called Pie that probably and allegedly will take your ad money and share part of it with the viewers...
Honey: we want you to promote a browser extension that gives you vouchers Also honey: we're going to steal money from you and other creators Also also honey: we will do nothing like we said we would be doing with the browser extension
Never used Honey, but I remember the ads. Think it's funny people are like I bet they stole millions, maybe even hundreds of millions and I just think "they had Mr Beast advertise to his hundreds of million followers, they probably got billions
This is a valid point, Mr. Beast didn't just talk about them in his own videos but also did ads for them. The damage is likely exponentially greater than we could imagine because of huge creators like him being dragged into this "alleged" scam.
I didn't use it since it sounded like it was America only. I sometimes think of the bucks I could have saved if i had it installed, but I had a feeling it wouldn't work anyway.
Now I want the consumers to pile on too, for deceptive marketing. Anyone who ever clicked on a link and then Honey, expecting that to support their creator. This isn't necessarily anyone who downloaded it, but if you ever made that final decision because it was a support to someone...I wonder if they have their own lawsuit.
Imagine explaining this shit to a Judge. ''Your Honor, imagine a man standing next to the main doorway. After defendant and the plaintiff leave, he offers to check if all their legal documentation is up to par and offer them some advice. He doesn't find any advice to give and then your salary for the day is forfeit and he gets your money.''
I didn't even THINK about the idea that Honey makes the advertisers themselves think the creators they gave affiliate links to promote were not successful in advertising them by making the metrics said advertisers judge success on look worse. Even if that wasn't an intentional part of the scam, it's a side effect that is unacceptable by all accounts. It harms the entire _practice_ of affiliate links as a whole for anyone other than Honey.
You can add Markplier because he was affected by it even tho he didn't promoted it, you can exclude a certain Johnny because he has his own trial to deal with.

@@aaronwrighton2271 What lol, you're claiming LegalEagle hasn't given his political stances? What about all the videos he's made promoting the left and criticizing the right? Those don't count unless he specifically says "I'm on the left" in your mind?
My friend got hit by this and missed thousands of dollars that she needed for food and rent when she did sponsors for hello fresh and such. Hell, I used her link to send her a week of hello fresh, and honey snatched it. She cried, audibly, when she nearly lost her house, but we pooled our efforts to keep her from losing her home. We realized honey was messing up affiliate links for her, but didn't know why or how. Damage was done, though. She's okay, but it was because of her community, and we all paid for what Honey did. First time was a fluke in the code, second time was a nightmare.
So what about us consumers who actually lost hundreds from honey because "there were no discount codes," when it was proven there were and honey was paid to hide them? Do we need our own separate class action?
Paypal doesn't let you use your own money to buy adult content because that's a brand risk, but they're perfectly fine with stealing money from creators and scamming users, cause that's perfectly acceptable.
It also screws with the advertisement. The advertisers are wanting to find the best engagement for their product. Because of this they're going to think all of their engagement is coming from honey and those who are actually getting them the exposure they need and want or going to be dropped because it doesn't look like they're getting it. Which means they're absolutely screwing over the sellers as well.
The businesses are also getting screwed. They're paying these affiliate codes out because they think they are gaining new customers through the influencers etc, but now they're paying Honey instead who didn't do anything at all. Businesses are just throwing the money away to scammers instead of rewarding the influencers who are good salesmen. Then the influencers don't bother to pitch things since they don't get rewarded for it, and the business makes less sales while paying out still.
I'm not a big fan of LegalEagle. I think he has biases that cloud his viewpoints away from being close to objective. That being said, I hope he wins this case. What Honey is doing is Awful, I believe it should be illegal, and if LegalEagle is the one to do it, then it will be a good thing.
