Okay, even if this is supposed to be a real live test, this is not a fair testing method. The iMovie on the MacBook Pro also loaded/opened a video project. Also, you haven’t confirmed whether both computers are running the latest OS. They are not connected to a power adapter, so we don't know the battery status of the machines, etc
Great video. Love my M3 Air. The 15” Air you used does have a 10 core GPU vs 8 on the pro so I would expect the newer chip with more cores to score better
Part of what you're experiencing is thermal throttling in the air. It's faster at everything but it has to lower the speed as it progresses in the testing.
i have the MacBook Air m3 10 cores 16gb, its now very good but if comes the m4 out than I don't buy the m4 MacBook Air m1 is also good, like m2 also good, apple comes every year with a new M versions peoples don't know. what he want buying, I can say to you buy one MacBook and use it for 10 years and than buy a. new one MacBook maybe m10
Nice video! I came here while considering if it is time to upgrade. I will definitely stick with my M1 Pro until December and then see what Apple Intelligence does. That could be a good video comparison to do when AI releases.
Pro M1 - 120Hz, 16 gigs, 1000 nits bright. M3 Air - 60Hz, 500 nits of brightness, and with 16 gigs price higher then M1 😉 Difference between M1 Pro and M3 = minimum !
this is stupid, you’re comparing the air to the 13 inch MacBook Pro that essentially uses the same chip as the M1air. I thought you were going to compare the actual M1 pro chip.
great Idea but the first two tests are flawed because you will inherintly press one button faster than another so just stick to rendering and seeing how fast the computer does it without trying to start them at the same time cause theres no way you can press at the exact same time.

Totally agree
Specs for comparison would have been nice and made this more relevant.

M1pro 16inch still boss

In 2024, which is better: a new MacBook Air M3 15-inch 16gb ram ($1450) or a used MacBook Pro M1 16-inch 16gb ram ($1200)?
M1 Pro > M3 > M1
Seeing the difference is Apple at its best. Almost none.
So overall we can say M1 is still giving tough competition to M3 I just love Apple products for this reason
Well said!
8:24 the macbook seems to be loaded with stuff.

Thanks for sharing
post the specs, yo
Bro use the pro chip
If you don't know how to properly benchmark a computer, then learn before making an inaccurate video.

The M1 pro is a 13 or 14 inch?
M1 Pro in this vídeo is 13 inch. The M3 Air is 15 inch.
