With our experience this past season with Injuries and us playing more games this season, I think this is a good squad to have. I don't understand why people are upset over us getting top quality squad depth when that's what killed us last season. Palmer will play both in the midfield and RW in Maresca's system, Nkunku can play all across the front line, Caicdeo can drop to DM. I'm happy with this squad.
Also a massive fan of Archie Gray, send him and Lesley on loan and if Santos or Carney don't work out or when we sell Conor, Archie, Kellyman and Lesley will have their chance to break into the first team. Us trying to get Murillo in exchange for Chalobah is probably us thinking ahead to if Fofana doesn't work out.
As for our wonderkids, unless Madueke becomes a starting level talent for England which I don't think he will, we will probably sell him for profit in 3-5 years, Sterling's contract won't be renewed in 3 years, Mudryk might flop and Nkunku will be 30 in 3 years so we would be preparing for his replacement. All of this leaves room for Estevao & Kendry to start getting serious mintues when they are around 19-20.
Alfie can also fight for a spot to replace, Disasi in the future, we have Slonina who i personally beliew should have Sanchez's spot in the team and a couple other prospects that we can get good loan fees for like we used when we were run by Roman. COYB!

I would rather keep Chalobah over Disasi but realistically we can't keep both Chalobah and Gallagher and I'd rather keep connor. As I said, trading Chalobah for Murrillo is probably plan B for if Fofana does not come back.

DBH is a great signing!!!! He doesnt play on the right , he plays on the left. He will likley play LW or LCM. 14 goals 16 assists last season. 25 years of age. Its a long season , this guy will bring quality. Manager also knows him well.
Fans like you are what's wrong with the club at the moment. Where are your standards? From winning Premier Leagues and Champions Leagues to hiring a championship manager buying championship players. If you have a mid manager along with mid players you will get mid results. This transfer is all about balancing the books, and what a coincidence, Leicester need to balance theirs aswell before playing in the Premier League.

Disagree with your negativity on the KDH deal.
This can be a smart signing on low fee (should be much less than £35m, especially if we can include a player exchange) and low wages.
He is central creative player who gives us another reliable option beyond Cole Palmer.
Last summer we sold all our 10s (Mount, Havertz, Felix loan expiry) to fully trust Nkunku, with Carney as back up. Both of them were injured within the first few games, and never fully recovered. However, we pulled off the biggest escape act ever by signing Cole Palmer before the window closed. If not for that we would have probably finished bottom half.
What if anything happens to Cole Palmer, or he just needs a rest (especially as we have European football too).
We'll be left with:
- Carney: great potential, huge fitness concerns
- Nkunku: great quality, may end up playing as a 9 rather than a 8/10, huge fitness concerns
That's concerning for team fighting for CL football.
Whereas KDH is a known entity: He knows Maresca's football, he knows English football, he's hardly been injured.
If Carney and Nkunku stay fit and hit top form they'll easily oust KDH, as they have more talent. However, that's fine, as he is cheap enough and low profile enough for that not too matter. Unlike signing an Eze for £60m and big wages.
Like the Tosin signing, this is not a ceiling raiser, but it is a floor raiser.
Under Maresca last year KDH is clearly an 8/10, so this doesn't relate to any of Lavia, Enzo, Ugochukwo, Santos who will all be 6s.

Dewsbury hall is a better footballer than Conor Gallagher though… I’m a big fan of Gallagher especially because of his work rate… but technically Dewsbury hall is better
Chelsea has already clocked that the base fee in return for these talents in the Prem is 30-35 million. So, if you buy a young player for less than that, you put them on a 6-7 year deal on minimal wages, you are always coming out good regardless of how they actually play. These guys are superb business men. With players like Olise, that threshold is threatened if you buy them for 60-70 mil. If an Olise flops you stand to lose half your purchase investment whilst having to pay a significant amount in wages. So, the solution is to get your palmers to flourish and buy young. Idk if anyone else sees it. We are moaning but these guys are actually cooking. The understand the finances and are not emotionally tied to the players. The moves seem sideways, but they actually make more sense on the books.
Football and business aren't intertwined at all atm. None of the business matters if we dont see results on the field now. Lets not fool ourselves into thinking we're business men or that this shows signs of ambition. Ambition is selling your youth to fund moves for Olise, not this

Injuries are such a huge aspect to the investment, I see Olise in this context as much as I wanted to see him here. I think you’re onto it with the way the club is hedging bets on multiple young talents I just hope it better aligns with on the field success

I rate Dewsbury-Hall highly! He can dribble and he can do key through ball passes, and he can defend because his work rate is good. He's like Connor Gallagher but good on the ball.

We do need everyone we can get, you’ll take a chill pill pls… we play much more games this season and with the high risk of injuries we are getting, I think we need everyone we get. They sign young players that is a problem for the fans, they sign experienced and proven players too, and then they say they don't need them as well. Have you ever watched KDH ? Your thoughts about his game are baffling, on top of that Nkunku or Carnz are injury prone, if they get injured again like last season, that's season over again ! If we sell Gallagher, regardless of how much you/we like him, he’ll probably be sold. Then bringing DH in would mean that we have two midfielders in each midfield position - and that’s with Carney and Lavia staying fit. I don’t see the issue with that.

It seems like many Chelsea fans are overlooking an important point. Most of the transfers that have been made this season are not based on football reasons, but rather for business purposes. The club tends to sign players to later sell them for a profit or to use them in swap deals. For instance, Omari Hutchinson exemplifies this strategy. If a player performs better than what we currently have in the club, they might be brought back.
I am baffled by the crazy, seemingly direction-less buys. These people haven't learnt their lessons yet.
That said, Dewsbury-Hall is a great purchase, he is a very technical player with amazing vision and good decision attributes.
You'll be glad he was signed. You'll see.

Even though most people don't like drewsbury hall. Firstly, his a fighter,he gives in his whole for his club. Secondly, his less expensive compared to most of the players you all want. Remember we're not in the champions league. Thirdly, check out his stats before you come to conclusions this guy is a powerhouse who creates a lot for his team. Fourthly, the board aren't stupid, they are qualified individuals who have years of experience in club management. We are just fans who what our club to spend millions on players who don't even what to play for us😭
KDH brings knowledge and experience with Maresca ball, and I think he is going to be a huge boost in helping our current mids learn and adapt to the new system. He won't start imo. Connor pretty much out the door, Carns and Ugo to go out on loan looks very likely.

Go back and watch Ecuador vs Jamaica and you’ll see that Caicedo will be perfect for that Ndidi role. Played the high press perfectly winning the ball back and then creating from there. He was a huge reason why Paez had a good amount of chance. We need to move on from Gallagher.
Same mistake with Sarri and Jorghino. it ruined the Chelsea DNA and weakened the team so much that even after they final left, we were still playing side ways ball until Tuchel but he still wanted Jorghino out.

from the owners perspectives I get why selling Conor for £50m then getting KDH for 20m + cascadei is a good deal but its another sideways move that I don't believe takes us to the very next level

It’s disingenuous to talk about Nkunku and Palmer being ahead of him without actually seeing them play as 8’s for Maresca, let’s not jump to conclusions. Right now as midfielders we have Enzo, Caicedo Lavia(coming from a year out of football) Santos and Carnz (still growing into his tall frame so likely to have some injuries even though we hope not as many) if either Caicedo or Enzo go down we’re in a tough situation in terms of numbers for Thursday Sunday games.

I understand the criticisms regarding the bloated midfield roster & the underwhelming stature of KDH in terms of star power but cast our minds back to Mourinho adding Tiago in his first window.
Midfield is arguably the pivotal aspect in the team to adopt & dictate the desired system. This signing could be thought of as a short term boost to learning EM’s system for the rest of the team.
Adding an “inside man” to the squad can help translate expectations to the likes of Enzo, Caicedo, Santos & Lavia.
The longterm suggests our current midfielders will reach a greater ceiling than KDH but for me this signing is not to prioritise competition between KDH & Enzo for example but to expedite Enzo’s ability to succeed in Maresca’s team.
Tiago was sold but we were left with the Essien & Mikel who both left our clubs as icons. I predict KDH could follow a similar path if Maresca’s reign is a success & in a year or two we would be left with a +250m midfield fully capable of maximising Maresca’s tactics.
We tend to judge signings on the benefits they have on the pitch but sometimes it’s a balance of the benefits they have on the training ground.
Nini it seems like you only have eyes for Tekkers, you feel drewsberry hall who has experienced and seasoned can't do better than a injured midfield with chukwemeka and others, we seem to think these players won't get injured again
