Neumann has a sound that you can hear across decades of production. I’m fascinated by that. It’s obviously not a taste thing or it would change a lot. While their mics don’t all sound alike, there is an undeniable signature of non-hyped freq response, particularly at the ends of the spectrum. Users have come to love that approach because their tricks will do what they expect, or come close every time. The consistency from unit to unit of the same model is stunning, even across production years. The Blue sounds really nice, like I’d worked on it awhile, and I don’t want that to be my starting point ever. I just love Neumann mics. Can you tell?

my audio technica at 2035 sounds horrible with scarlett solo. So can you plug it in motu m2 or something good quality and compare it with rode nt1. Because rode nt1 also sounds trash to me on scarlett solo 2nd gen. can you do a audio interface comparison please
I was actually in a similar position to you about a year ago. I used the Scarlet solo 2nd gen and had nothing but issues with drivers. I use an akg p220 and decided to upgrade to the motu m2 and what a difference. It is almost double the price of a Scarlet solo but I think it's twice the interface. The sound is better that is for sure. I plan on upgrading my mic which is why I'm watching this video. @@applecrazy1 I’ve had the 201 fet for years. I bought the tlm 103 and returned it the next day. The reason was that for my voice, the 201 worked best. It has a dark, silky sound. It has a bigger sound as far as “thickness”. That’s how my clients described it. The 103 is bright and silky. It didn’t work for me as my voice isn’t very deep, so it was just way to sibilant and way to sensitive for my needs. Though I plan to buy the 103 again for my daughter’s anime demos, the 201 fet is my everyday mic and sounds incredible. I have it paired with an Avalon 737 and it’s paid me back 10 fold. For the price, I’ll definitely take the Baby Bottle over the Neumann. In my opinion, I think the Neumann is pretty overpriced especially when you consider stuff like the KSM32 exists for $150 less and more recently the OC18 for only an extra $50. The Baby Bottle is good value for $400.
