The baby bottle has totally changed its frequency response in the new version. The older one has a scoop around 2k that gives it a certain vintage-like softness. This new SL version is edgier with a mostly flat response. For what I do, male voice-over and baritone vocals, the old version is perfect for my voice with minimal EQ. Excellent mid frequency detail, but minimal harshness in the upper mids. Other’s will prefer the new one depending on source. Anyway, just pointing out they are very different beasts.
I have been looking at the Baby Bottle SL as my sole studio mic for singer/songwriter scratch track and demo recording. This helped, thanks. I already have one on loan for testing and I think it is going to work out beautifully.
The Baby bottle seems to have changed it's voicing in the past 10 years. I bought one in 2010 and the published frequency response looks totally different to the one Blue puts out now.
Great review. Excellent content. And as a preface - I do like your suit..however, your tie needs to fall just below the top your belt and it's currently too high. Great review though. And plosion city.
Wang Yue given that female vocals are typically more high focused than a males i would go for the baby bottle just for the boosted low mids. Might give your female vocals more body.
Full Compass, how do I get a hold of Jon VonRentzell? I'm a fan of Blue mics, they look kool and sound great for a budget price. Now, I'm an inventor and have a wonderful mic technology that can basically improve any mics characteristic in "sound reproduction", its not a preamp. Let me give you an example, with my technology, I was able to achieve better tonal characteristics than a U47 using an ordinary Mic... This technology is a game changer!
Hi Esoteric. It's not our policy to divulge personal information from other companies, but we recommend you contact Blue directly. Thanks for your question and best of luck with your new technology!
Thanks so much for your advice, I really appreciate it! I started a personal reference channel that I use for my validation and calibration. Nothing fancy... Elementus Technology
The baby bottle. Baby Bottle is very versatile and a neutral sound for people so its incredible for voice over/voice acting but also works amazing for music.

Здравствуйте, подскажите пожалуйста , подойдёт ли blue baby bottle (no sl) для мужского рэп-вокала?

For female vocals, does bluebird work better?
Wang Yue given that female vocals are typically more high focused than a males i would go for the baby bottle just for the boosted low mids. Might give your female vocals more body.
Wang Yue the bluebird is high focused but it’s cheaper and you can always EQ it.
For signing (barytone) and guitar (acoustic and electric), vocals and acoustic being most important... Any of these in particular? Baby bottle?
I have the original baby bottle , is it still good?
Lacerta Mantra I personally like the sound of the original baby bottle sound a bit better to me that the SL baby bottle
@@mzonemusicful I prefer the older version-less harshness in the upper mids, more of a vintage sound.
Had to send my sl back because one of the switches broke on the front..
