I prefer the Blackberry Priv form factor. All screen most of the time and a slide out keyboard when you need to get work done. Why just have a productivity phone when you can get one that you could also have fun with?
What's crazy is that I bought one for $55 with it's box, original charger, and belt clip. This device still works in 2023, since it has LTE. It's amazing
I feel bad that we're stuck with only Android and iOS now. This phone looks great to me. I wish I had one in 2013. Am I the only one who misses the diversity?
I was really surprised when it came to this phone. BB did a great job with it and should be proud. I may have gotten a 7 but it's the only querty phone worthy to talk about. Thank you for the review and keep up the great work!
Interesting. One version of the Q10 may indeed be using the OMAP 4470 (and that may include our review unit) - but the US version uses the Qualcomm S4. For confirmation, see the Q10 specs page at BlackBerry's US site. ^MF
I'd go for the WP if I were you, more apps and Nokia is really committed to supporting devices and getting software updates/added features out there quickly :)
Blackberry seeded this phone to me at work yesterday and through a day of use I am loving it. They took way too long with these devices (the z10) should've made this like 2 years ago or something. I'm going in between my HTC one,l and nexus 4 alot and I have no problem adding this in the mix. Its weird because I usually don't bang with BlackBerry
After all these years im back on android which is a note 4 and thinking of getting a blackberry for texting and phone calls only. Done with apple for good.
+Skank yes, I know firsthand. I replaced my BlackBerry Z10 with an iPhone 5C for a little Christmas gift for myself and I regret it so much, Apple nickel and dimes the hell out of me and I have no storage and iCloud services lose backup because I can't afford to get more storage for that thing. I wanna get me another BlackBerry, a Q10, for my birthday on June 10th because I love the way BlackBerry is so resilient and still hangs on, also when I used the Z10, I had such incredible integration with email, messaging, and alerts with the BlackBerry Hub. I don't want to see the day that BlackBerry says they're dropping out of the smartphone game because they've been around since feature phones were still hip, and I feel BlackBerry matches my personality better.
Great permeation. Although there may be some shortcomings for the typical Android/I phone users, what market was Blackberry seeking. My guess is the professional individual.
im looking to get one and just haven't found a review that hooks my attention, good reviews, byt kinda boring. This one is amazing and it also made me smile when I recognised mr. mobiles voice
Awesome video review. I do have a question though: I currently use Android and HATE that it runs apps in the background when I didn't even open the app. N when I use a task killer and kill the apps, they just pop up again. Does BB10 have this problem? Pls help, bc it's actually a deal breaker for me. Thanks.
What i really miss about the Q10 is the dedicated back and blackberry button if i didnt know how to do something I would press that and it would show like everything i needed
Please can you also review the Q5 and the current BBM app store compared to android ?? I have a budget that is sufficient to buy a Q5 or a similar priced android.
my contract ends in november and i already have HTC one sim free after my galaxy s3 broke 3 months ago , maybe will get one as a second phone or look for shorter contract and get q5
Nice review :) I really like the new BB devicies, if I hadn't bought the Lumia 920 a few months ago I'd definetely go for either the Z10 or the Q10. And btw. you really remind me of Tony Stark :D
Gentlemen, would you kindly reply me back whether BB Q10 supports the entire or at least Android Apps, and how do they look like with their functionality and usage, do they still limited as the used at the previous versions of BB or actually they became wider with their usage, options and user wide range of app's interaction and possibly could compete to the other phi especially OSs such as android, etc.
Does anyone know if blackberry solved their freezing problem? My roommate was sick of his blackberry because it would randomly freeze. This has been a problem with other users as well.
Palm (and later HP) called it "Just Type," and it provided much more than just search functionality in webOS 2.x. Palm's product was (and continues to be) superior. ^MF
Check the specs on gsmarena. The Q10 has a TI OMAP 4470 1.5ghz dual core A9. A9 is not as fast as krait s4 which is why q10 is laggy compared to the Z10. they used a slower chipset on the Q10 because it has to drive a lower resolution screen.
Michael Fisher should know the device that he is reviewing. His remark of how easy you can touch power button, shows us that he doesn't know major point of turning on the screen by just swiping it. And he never mentioned that Very useful option on blackberry q10. And also he didn't cover all the cute short cuts on blackberry QWERTY keyboard. As usual Michael Fisher is just scratching the surface of the device that he is reviewing.
The BB phones dont really have this problem, or atleast I dont. You can press and hold the menu button to see what all is running, natively it runs phone, bbm, mail, and home. There is an app called Blackberry Application Resource Monitor that will shut down any apps it feels is draining the battering, which is nice because i tend to leave gps or yellow pages open and it shuts it down for me if i forget.
why didn't Blackberry just build a Blackberry with a larger screen, and just have the keyboard slide out kinda like the Blackberry Torch 9800 and 9810. This way People who love the keyboard and people who love larger screen can have both of each in one.
+TQ It is now known as the Blackberry Priv. Too little and too late. Furthermore, having to deal with the touch screen keyboard and the sliding physical keyboard will become a task of tedium for some to most people. Still, as a curiosity, it may be nice to collect the Blackberry Priv as a collector's item.
A friend of mine who works in a mobile retailing company said that few of their customers returned the Q10 as they could not configure their office exchange or enterprise emails on it. Does anyone know about this issue? Is it common amongst Q10 users? Any solution to it???
Loses points for a small screen? The Blackberry phones screen have always been small roughly around 2.5-3 inches, dont see how it would lose points for that. All in all good review.
it's 2017 and I'm drawn to these phones than all that glass slabs..
I prefer the Blackberry Priv form factor. All screen most of the time and a slide out keyboard when you need to get work done. Why just have a productivity phone when you can get one that you could also have fun with?
Absolutely wonderful phones were made by them. Now the phones we see in the market today are are like worthless
I had my Q10 for over a month and i LOVE IT! its a great phone! it looks really well
I use an iPhone and Q10 daily and I absolutely love the Q10! It's the best phone I've ever had.
pontiacfoo can be whatsapp installed in this phone?
your reviews are quite simply the best...not too long , not too short...meaty and to the point. Nice work!
What's crazy is that I bought one for $55 with it's box, original charger, and belt clip. This device still works in 2023, since it has LTE. It's amazing

He said a 7 outta 10 you must be smoking something 😂 I give it at least 8 or 9 for the look in all 👌
I was really surprised when it came to this phone. BB did a great job with it and should be proud. I may have gotten a 7 but it's the only querty phone worthy to talk about. Thank you for the review and keep up the great work!
Your reviews are about as unbiased as I think is possible in such a competitive space - well done!
Interesting. One version of the Q10 may indeed be using the OMAP 4470 (and that may include our review unit) - but the US version uses the Qualcomm S4. For confirmation, see the Q10 specs page at BlackBerry's US site. ^MF
I know I shouldn't but I want one...
OS 10.2 will resolve the low light situation and better light handling... it's already available for Alpha Build... positive feedback on this feature.
i'd get this phone as a back up, business phone.. i always loved the blackberries with keyboards and i can't wait to have a reason to get this phone.
I'd go for the WP if I were you, more apps and Nokia is really committed to supporting devices and getting software updates/added features out there quickly :)
Great video, very comprehensive. I hope to see some bigger developers get on board with BB10. Hopefully the A10 will be very successful.
Blackberry seeded this phone to me at work yesterday and through a day of use I am loving it. They took way too long with these devices (the z10) should've made this like 2 years ago or something. getting this phone next week got the Z10 and Z30, these phones rock!
I loved the review!
Because it really helped me understand, what BB q10 can really do.
After all these years im back on android which is a note 4 and thinking of getting a blackberry for texting and phone calls only. Done with apple for good.
Perfect .Physique Apple is horrible honestly.
+Skank yes, I know firsthand. I made the switch F..... Tire with android and their issues, Apple same UI, Windows phone so basic. I have the Q10...... And I love it........
Omg Mr. Mobile on pocketnow is such a throwback!!!
Great permeation. Although there may be some shortcomings for the typical Android/I phone users, what market was Blackberry seeking. My guess is the professional individual.
Update: we've confirmed our review unit packs the S4. ^MF
Hey Michael, whats your own opinion about the phone?
As an old WebOs fan, is it like coming home ;-)?
Great review, thanks. I am thinking of getting one. How is browsing and watching youtube videos on such a small screen?
im looking to get one and just haven't found a review that hooks my attention, good reviews, byt kinda boring. This one is amazing and it also made me smile when I recognised mr. mobiles voice
Great review! Love this phone, wow, well done BlackBerry.
Also version 10.2 has improved a lot of features in BB10
I want this phone now.. Sick of my touch phones
+Caleb Wagner out of my budget bro.. already bought many phones 😭😭
Awesome video review.
I do have a question though: I currently use Android and HATE that it runs apps in the background when I didn't even open the app. N when I use a task killer and kill the apps, they just pop up again. Does BB10 have this problem?
Pls help, bc it's actually a deal breaker for me. Thanks.
I'm getting this , iPhone 5 32gb on eBay soon , back to blackberry for me
How long did it take you to switch from Blackberry and BB10 OS?
baby michael
nice review once again. but i just can´t see how BB will be able to keep up with iOS, Android and WP on the long run.
What i really miss about the Q10 is the dedicated back and blackberry button if i didnt know how to do something I would press that and it would show like everything i needed
BlackBerry is going to release the BlackBerry Classic in a few months. I think you'll like that phone.
I've actually have played around with a classic my neighbor works for blackberry
Andrew Johnstone Whaaat, realy? Is it good?
It's basicly a bigger much more powerful bold 9990 with bb10 I don't know the specs but I know they are more beefy then the z30
BlackBerry supported what Palm called "Type and Go" way back in the day, as far back as I can remember.
Blackberry is my first use. and i want to get back to that.
hii guys tell me about q10 how is perfomnance gud or bad i want to buy am thinking
Please can you also review the Q5 and the current BBM app store compared to android ??
I have a budget that is sufficient to buy a Q5 or a similar priced android.
As always love your review
Michael, 1 suggestion please start including the links of all the videos related to the device
which u review.
I didn't expect Mr. Mobile to be here 😮😮
Michael does the best reviews! :D
battery life is what i like best also how is its gps? I havent heard anyone talk about that yet
I was literally waiting for this :3
my contract ends in november and i already have HTC one sim free after my galaxy s3 broke 3 months ago , maybe will get one as a second phone or look for shorter contract and get q5
9000 was the pinnacle of all pre-BB10 BlackBerrys.
Nice review :) I really like the new BB devicies, if I hadn't bought the Lumia 920 a few months ago I'd definetely go for either the Z10 or the Q10. And btw. you really remind me of Tony Stark :D
I really like your voice, mike. crystal clear. great review.
There is a way to download the google play store to the q10 !!!!
So you can run android apps easily
Does anyone know if blackberry solved their freezing problem? My roommate was sick of his blackberry because it would randomly freeze. This has been a problem with other users as well.
I went with the Lumia 920 after watching that video Mike made, just felt WP8 had really more of an appeal compared to BB10
Great video! can't wait to get this phone.
That's what we aim for. Thanks! ^MF
Palm (and later HP) called it "Just Type," and it provided much more than just search functionality in webOS 2.x. Palm's product was (and continues to be) superior. ^MF
Hurm, now I'm torn between the Q10 and a Windows 8 phone. Any suggestions?
Check the specs on gsmarena. The Q10 has a TI OMAP 4470 1.5ghz dual core A9. A9 is not as fast as krait s4 which is why q10 is laggy compared to the Z10. they used a slower chipset on the Q10 because it has to drive a lower resolution screen.
Love you're reviews :D
Great review!!
Great review!, Very very pro. Best seen till now ;)
The Q10 just made you look so much cooler...
Excellent review.
Best Reviewer . keep up the good work Brother
sweet! i'm gonna get it now!
I'm assuming this is referring to maps specifically? Same problem here.
Good review...! I have Samsung Note2 for surfing web and playing games. Q10 will replace my Z10 as my biz tool...!!
I got the blackberry q10 for tmoible, best phone I had so far
I had a BB 9000 was my first phone I remember charging it less then 3 times a week the batter was huge
Only 120,000 apps available? Would 390,000,000 suffice? When is enough enough? I am sold on the BB Q10. Nice presentation
Fair review... I enjoyed it.
Michael Fisher should know the device that he is reviewing. His remark of how easy you can touch power button, shows us that he doesn't know major point of turning on the screen by just swiping it. BlackBerry should keep going with this
Cool Review!
Finally i have BB Q10 in 2019😂
it actually goes up to 64gb with an sd card
The BB phones dont really have this problem, or atleast I dont. You can press and hold the menu button to see what all is running, natively it runs phone, bbm, mail, and home. There is an app called Blackberry Application Resource Monitor that will shut down any apps it feels is draining the battering, which is nice because i tend to leave gps or yellow pages open and it shuts it down for me if i forget.
Hope they will bring a torch like device so an awesome keyboard with a bigger screen, so like a bigger Q10
Hello 2023!
You look very cool in this video.
Even cooler than the Blackberry.
Pretty good device all around
Great review
You sold me. Gonna get one of these to replace my iPhone, which is losing battery power and is a bit boring?
You would have wasted a lot of money.
Awesome review
Ahhh that classic Pocketnow review moment when the reviewer pretends?? to talk on the phone to test signal and microphone. Love it XD
Yes I have blackberry q10, it's good for me to use it
It's better than the Z10- atleast 8 out 10 and will improve with software upgrades. Due for release 1/7/13 Optus Australia.
mike o fisher, are you the one of admin in pocketnow?bacause when i watch video in pocketnow chanell, just you always reviewing phone
Have BB9860 for 2 1/2 years and still hate typing on it..Not an app guy so this may be the device for me.
There was one pocketnow reviewer and I actually hated him, he was always wrong about everything. I am so glad mike is 1000x better :D
why didn't Blackberry just build a Blackberry with a larger screen, and just have the keyboard slide out kinda like the Blackberry Torch 9800 and 9810. This way People who love the keyboard and people who love larger screen can have both of each in one.
They have. It will be released later this year. It's called the BlackBerry Venice.
+TQ It is now known as the Blackberry Priv. Too little and too late. Furthermore, having to deal with the touch screen keyboard and the sliding physical keyboard will become a task of tedium for some to most people.
Still, as a curiosity, it may be nice to collect the Blackberry Priv as a collector's item.
got the q10, great phone!!
A friend of mine who works in a mobile retailing company said that few of their customers returned the Q10 as they could not configure their office exchange or enterprise emails on it. Does anyone know about this issue? Is it common amongst Q10 users? Any solution to it???
Does Iinstagram compatible in this phone??
BB is releasing 3-4 more devices later this year and next year. Maybe?
Loses points for a small screen? The Blackberry phones screen have always been small roughly around 2.5-3 inches, dont see how it would lose points for that. All in all good review.
does this phone have the most powerful battery?
The up-swipes and Just Type are certainly nice to have (again). ^MF
The best review
you have to realize its a brand new platform and they are getting more apps people expect there to be a million apps at launch.
God I love your review there are so good
Hardware speed is not as important for QNX, It is not as demanding as other phone operating systems.
