I had to go back and watch the first episode I forgot all about this build
The batman build
Jeez can't believe that was 2 months ago
@@HighrisePilot That WAS 2 months ago! 😭 damn
But it was worth waiting for such great content! 🔥
I’m like “episode 2”? Then I remember lol
That moustache, without doubt the best aesthetic upgrade of this build
It would be complimented nicely by a carbon fiber chin spoiler
Ben rocking that Adam Lz look😂
fiberglass one would have been better though /s
I agree with the gentleman above
He’s almost ready to pull himself over.
If planning racing on stock 1zz, make sure to install oil temp gauge and oil cooler. This motor drives oil temperatures way to high (150 degrees Celsius high). Moroso pan should decrease them significantly, tho
Yes. It's time to start learning how to weld. Like what Mike Finnegan and Tony Angelo said, learning how to weld opens a lot of doors if you are into hot rodding. Make repairs, fabricate brackets, mounts, modify parts..the list goes on.
@Capt Shiny 😂
Cant wait to get my K24 Turbo MRS on my Channel out on track and see you guys one day!
Dude your Mr2 is insane!
What body kit is that
@@rcworld7681 monocraft gt300 widebody.
We need some content from you bro its been a while.
good to see it getting decent upgrades. i'd recommend front strut bar and a underbody brace (cusco makes one if you're inclined) if that's legal for the type of track class you'll run it in. can't wait to see it cleaned up. is it going to be wrapped or anything?
Ben said it's going to get wrapped in the last video.
Looks like a wasps nest if you’re lucky there may have been a spider or bug in there for the lava to feed off
yeah “lucky”
Idk what the specific species is called, but here in Aus we call them "Mud Wasps" because well, their nests are made of Wasps... Plus adding "mud" in front of the name just helps you let other people know it's a harmless wasp (flying around their head for example)
@@X-Caliber02 they're called mud daubers. Weird mud wasps. No thanks lol
@@Rev.Match.Reviews Well there you go then aye. Never heard what they're actually called... Good to know though
@@X-Caliber02 of course the guy from australia would know. What kinds of bugs don't you guys have over there?
That expanding foam was a mistake. It actually holds water in and against the metal parts. Old Super Beetles had it behind the vents in the quarters and they're known for rusting, I had one and it was bad.
And that was a mud dobber nest on the radiator, we have them all over the place here in Texas.
As someone who just finished putting the roll bar in my Spyder last month, I fully sympathize with you on how much of a pita this job is. Love the amazing content as always and can’t wait to see more!
How many hours did you invest into that?
Did your also take 4 days to install?
What the hell is a pita
@@Liam.Lacoste about 15 hours as I was doing it solo with no lift
@@WarriorsPhoto over the course of two weekends, yes
Thank you gears and gasoline for making me feel like my dad. Im 25, i wake up early on a saturday morning to drink coffee and watch your show. Same thing he did for years and years with powerblock, trucks, etc etc.
Seriously you guys produce some grade A videos. Always a pleasure to watch.
The quality of the G&G content blows me away every time. You guys deserve way more.
Eh, kinda. They're finally getting there, but for a long as they've been doing this, they're kinda behind the editing and quality curve.
For future reference the expanding foam is not a good idea as it will actually hold any moisture that gets in there. It's now essentially a big sponge sitting against the metal in the same way that the carpets caused corrosion against the floor pans
After blowing the engine on its first outing on the track, Ben decides to K-swap the MR2 haha
9:05 fixing those underbody rust issues would be my first concern.
look at all the cheeto dust
aye , the MR2 is back after 6 years , yay. I love covid shipping times
UA-cam is broken, I just found your channel, very well done guys. Filming and editing is great, the b roll, jump clips, very well done! If you guys are ever in Colorado hit us up!
There's no real need for the radiator upgrade, even on track. What you should look into is an oil cooler, either oil to coolant or oil to air. The MWR one I really liked since it has a thermostat. Also, with these McPherson all around cars you need to be careful with lowering the ride height as it messes up the camber curve, and there's no way to fix it on the rear. For anyone watching: adjustable roll bars with stock springs and upgraded dampers gives you the best bang for buck
Been waiting for this one
You mean... "Ben" waiting.
I'll see myself out
PLEASE do a Frankenstein Motorworks 2AR swap. More people should know about that swap and what it's able to do, plus it's pure Toyota. He would totally work with you plus he's a really nice guy.
Ew camry motor lame
@@MTP_CHANNEL_ 280 with the fxe, no internals or FI needed. Stock everything. Plus it's a Camry motor, infinite parts
@@jackparker6425 sounds boring ill stick to K and 2gr
@@jackparker6425 also the fxe only makes 154 hp
@@MTP_CHANNEL_ watch the Frankenstein videos. It's a stock 12.5:1 engine. Mess with the timing and put a stock intake cam on the exhaust and it's a wildly good engine.
Crazy how I just found out about the MR2 on this chanel, watch the first 2 episode, and right as I finish I see a new upload about it, God bless G&G
Wire brush + por15 for your floor pan. Did that in my track car. This stuff is very very durable and cure rust.
Thx guys for always having something to look forward to every week. 😄
Great to see others bringing attention to a fantastic racing chassis!
Love your build man!
@@Weimerica8841 thank you so much I appreciate that ❤️
Would be super satisfying to see you clean this car. Every single part of it. Undercarriage, engine bay, paint, interior. It really needs it too.
I would recommend using that undercoating spray since u already have to and maybe spray the floors with it, might look nicer and give ur feet more grip when it’s wet
The little details pulls it all together
Can you guys do a video on how you set up your suspension please? Even though you are no experts you have more experience than I do when it comes to tracking and suspension setup, so anything you put out there is a huge help. Thanks!!
Roll Bar looks good!
Makes me miss my "Heavily Modified" 1986 MR2!
I’ve been so excited to see more of this build! Great video guys!
That roll bar looks awesome. I am excited to see what kinds of times this car will pull. I doubt it’ll beat that Civic build.
What about a 2ZZ with the 6 speed in the future?
this is like revisiting my build of my MR2 track car a few years ago.
Underrated little cars. You're gonna have a blast. Can't wait for more content! Keep up the quality work, peeps.
Titanium and steel are pretty far from each other on the galvanic corrosion chart. Judging from the mud daubers and general greenery in your video, those nuts low down and on the outside of the car might be a little rough to remove.
However, I do want to say that track bar is a definite improvement!
"We are now working with fuel so wear protection"
Proceeds without gloves.
😅
Great video guys. Looking forward to the rest of the build. My brain for some reason could not register that the bash bar was not a camera slider at first 😂
You guys are definitely doing some wild builds and I'm here for it.
Yeah! Very excited to be apart of the build! Thanks for the shout out on the bar!
These are easily my favourite G&G videos. Love seeing you guys working on cars.
I was just thinking yesterday what happened to the MR2. So glad to see it back!
Can't wait for the next episode on this build!!
Great content as always, that rear crash bar looks legit!
finally back! I'm hyped for the mr2 content!
Edits to the beat - what a joy!
What a beautiful video. You guys are amazing at what you guys do
YES. Been waiting on a new ep. Love it lads.
Lookin like uncle touchy with that shade stash 😂 love this channel and your videos!!!
Loving that Asian Adam LZ look.
Yeah, because that clown was the first guy to ever have a moustache, right? 😂
The biggest crime of this car series is gutting that exhaust instead of replacing it lol
Dunno man, that's pretty big, but the expanding foam and aluminum tape abomination is worse, I think. Still, the transformation is pretty amazing!
Love this series
I selfishly want you guys to upload more videos lol can't get enough of this channel
Hey! My buddy Dave is the one that made that rear crash bar! He helped me with some stuff on my Acura
Tall Ben is now giving a lot of dad vibes... Either that or your happy and light hearted uncle that you love hanging out with.
Wire fed mig welding is really easy to learn if all you want to do is stick meddle together. It takes time to make it look good but if you do it a lot that will come.
Can’t wait for the final result!!!
Today is the third day of work to put my rollbar on my NA. Man this is much harder 🙂 I'm glad that i "simply" had to make holes into the body and get mad at the stock harnesses. Plus some trimmering of the top cover of the fuel tank. This work is nuts
Hyped, been waitin' for this.
You guys just keep getting better and better
Great vid guys!
I work in the pest control industry, that was a mud dauber nest on the radiator. They are solitary wasps that make nests out of mud, abduct spiders to put inside and then plant their eggs, once the eggs turn to larvae, they will eat those spiders and leave the nest. They are docile and won't sting unless you are bugging them.
Looking forward to that suspension setup video !
Love the Mr2 Spyder so much
Definitely worth the wait
Looking forward to the next episode! 😎💪👍
I wanna see you guys hit that 1 million mark
Thank you for shiny light on this amazing platform the 3rd Gen MR-S
If you could make a video on how you setup the coilovers, that would be awesome. Show what you did, maybe get a FA rep to fill in info if needed
Yes!! More MR2!!
YEEEEESSS! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS HAHAHAHA THANK YOUUU!
I've been waiting for this one.
glad to see this series continue. I'm surprised we didn't get more Luke yeeting any of the stuff you took off.
At last guys!!
More MR2 please
i intend to pick up welding as well, the best saying i've seen here in the comment section gives some confidence:
"A grinder and some paint makes me the welder that i aint!"
Looking forward to seeing this on track! I would love to see the car get a wrap and maybe a motor swap in a future episode.
Can't wait how the MR2 perform.
In regards to the moist carpet, I had a similar issue. There's a drain for the rain that falls between the soft top and the body. Mine was clogged with leaves and pine needles. Remove the passenger side air scoop to clean it out.
Great videos as always.
Ooooh here we gooooo!!!!
Nice choice for a project! Makes me want an Mr Two Spyder project car. Can't wait for the 2ZZ or K swap.
Lovin the stash
Might be time to learn how to weld then! 😁 Cool project!
That Rear Crash Bar Looks Better 👌👌👌👌
Let’s go MR2 time I waited for this
Came here for the love of toyotas. Little did i know i came across a gem of a channel.
Didn't know that about the coolant. Good shit man.
Getting different exhaust eventually? This project is excellent, keeping an eye on it even more than the other projects that were amazing as well
4:18 it’s a dirt dobber nest, they look like wasps but black and white striped and they don’t harm you at all.
Love your guy's videos. Just wanna point out that the short arms on the lift are meant for the heavy side of the car. Keep up the good work guys
After turning into Keisuke Takahashi in the last road trip with FD,
now he is ready to become Kai Kogashiwa
I am glad you are using compression claps on the radiator hoses.
Legit the first two mods i did to my miata were hard dog double diag bar and door bushings. Best money and time spent EVER!
Looks like a mud dauber nest, lots of fun
Following for the ride 🙂
Finaly! u posted p2
Your videos are BY FAR the best automotive on UA-cam. So engaging and enjoyable to watch. Thank you.
Btw two words for you. DRY. ICE. 🤔🙏
4:12 great, what a coincidence that I also just started devouring my tasty noodles that I spent an hour to make to accompany me watching this video.
You should come on over to the Bear Mountain Memorial MR2 Meet in NY/NJ next year!
Finally someone who lowers the car properly with checking bumpstop travel.
YES finally! Been waiting for more on this silly little car...also mustache gang! Easily worth 3 tenths on track if not more.
Missed this build
I appreciate that you dumped the soundtrack in the scrip. This is solid musical mojo.
