I started this year with 2 hives. They are both still alive, praise the Lord. I think I will go to 6 hives next year and see how I handle that many before biting off more. You may want to try insulating the top of you hives a bit.

Thank you. Wish there were more hives on them. I'm using solid 4x4x16 blocks now because the ants like to nest in the cavities of the 8x8x16 Stretcher Blocks.

@@richardhyatt-beekeeping I use 4x4's in the holes of cinder blocks, on top of concrete blocks. They are sturdy.
