Your this trip is nostalgia for me, heart warming and sweet. Surti food is the best, they just know food! And especially parsi food in surat, nothing compares to it. Starting the day with bheja cutlet and kaleji in semi-dry gravy with out of the world akuri with fresh pav , omg, and the kheema samosa you get in the old city, unbeatable! Although am a veg now, these flavours still linger in my soul 🤪

Thanks fir choosing surat chala jata hu. Surat is known for its food from over the years. Infact, the entire world is knowing surat by its craziness to extreme level. Thats why people are used to say. SURAT nu jaman. Kashi nu maran. It means earlier when god is ready to bless a person, he desires for food of surat and my life ends in kashi (Banaras )
Chef mam gave best tip, that don't cook food when angry or stressed. Please implicate this in your hotel industry also.

This dish looks very similar to the Bengali and Assamese Puli Pitha, which is eaten during makar sankranti/maag bihu.. However our puli pitha is sweet dish with fillings of sweetened grated coconut, jaggery and kheer..
We Gujaratis also make this dish on Diwali with coconut, mava, dry fruits and sugar for sweetness called "Ghughara".
