He doesn’t ever say that he was the heart and soul of the band, so much so that the last album turned in to fantasy was played by the Blue Ridge Runners portrayed on the album by 4 silhouettes atop a hillside. All four were actually John Fogerty and he was the only credited player on the album. Fantasy had pushed him too far.

Thank you for sharing this. I am from the Netherlands. Born in 1953. CCR was my second crush. After Simon and Carfunkel. The name of your band struck to me. In The Netherlands then and now environment is precious. We are a small country and can't wither away the small portion of it that's still natural. Yes I undestood the Revival part. And the Green River song resounded too. So glad you took this a bit enigmatic name. It makes you wonder , who are these guys. And the rock/folk style appealed to me. So in 1970 I officially became a Creedence Clearwater Revival fan. My dad bought the LP's in Germany for me. They were much cheaper there. And even my old folks liked it Isn't that amazing.
    Once again thank you.
    Fare thee well

You have always been the heart of CCR and and I followed your many struggles with the betrayal of your band, the ridiculous lawsuit denying you the right to your own sound! When Pendulum came out, I was a little scared of that album cover when they put it in one of those wire record racks that stood 4 albums high with Pendulum at the top kind of staring down at me when it was bedtime.
