I'm 74 years old. I was in my late teens when I first heard Creedence. People can say what they want but in my opinion, they were the best band in America at the time, hands down. The Byrds had pretty much flown away. David Crosby was gone. Buffalo Springfield had only made one album. Crosby, Stills and Nash had not formed yet. There were some good bands on the left coast but none really had the appeal to the masses that CCR had. Of course there were the Doors, the Grateful Dead and others. Santana was just forming. As for rock that appealed to everyone, Creedence was it. John has been through so much. He is kind of like Andy in The Shawshank Redemptions, swimming through a river of crap and coming out clean on the other side. He is trully an american treasure. There have been so many great performers that have left us this year like Jeff Beck, Robbie Robertson, Randy Meisner and Jimmy Buffett, we should all be grateful that we still have him with us.

On my way home I stopped in the bowling alley, where there was a game room and a jukebox. I've loved you and your music since I was a kid. Loved 1969. It's was the threshold of a very good run until I had to grow up. Unique sound. Woodstock, I was in central Mexico and people asked me to go. Your wife is exceptional to find your guitar .❤

I guess finding your old guitar is like finding an old friend and catching up with time you missed it. Sounds so great John Fogarty.

Saw him at The Fillmore in San Francisco just when he started performing his old songs, but none of us knew that. When the lights went down, the sound of crickets started, and the band broke into Born on the Bayou, followed by six Creedence hits. Unforgettable.
