Epilogue idea: "The people of Seatopia allied themselves with the Vortaak in the hopes of getting their revenge on the surface world. But the Vortaak violated their agreement, keeping Megalon under their control to use him to conquer Seatopia. His worshipers saw this not only as an existential threat, but a form of blasphemy against their god. In a desperate attack, they destroyed the Vortaak's means of controlling the monsters. While Megalon was not the smartest, the crystals made him the strongest. Seatopia finally had the world in its grasp, with Megalon as its god."
Debuting in 1973, Megalon the drill-handed beetle is a rather strange pick for the alien faction. In the movie Godzilla vs. Megalon, he's controlled by the Seatopians, a race of people living underneath the Earth itself. Since nuclear testing rumbling the ground was threatening their civilization, Megalon is sent to the surface to cause havoc, later being joined by Gigan. They are defeated via the combined forces of Godzilla and Jet Jaguar. This would be his only movie appearance to date, but he proved to be popular enough to appear in many other monster media.
Megalon had vanquished SpaceGodzilla and conquered Earth for the Vortakk. But he soon realized that working with the Vortakk was a much better cause then being worshipped by the Seatopians, who refused to even attempt to conquer Earth after their defeat. Megalon soon betrayed his people and exterminated the remainder of the Seatopian race. He then returned to the Vortakk mothership and challenged Gigan to fight for the chance to become the Vortakk’s champion Megalon quickly slain Gigan in combat, and took his power surges as his own. No one dared to challenge Megalon thereafter and any source of rebellion within the Vortakk’s ranks or on Earth were quickly destroyed
Megalon was finally back in action. After Seatopia, its home, had been attacked and destroyed by the Vortaak, who did not like the idea of having another race competing with them for domination of Earth. Megalon tried his best to defend his people, holding back the Vortaak kaiju and trying to buy time for his followers to escape. That they did, fleeing onto several transport ships and shooting out of the system. However, the Seatopians were cruel masters, and they left Megalon behind without a second glance. Megalon was eventually defeated and knocked unconscious, and the Vortaak saw use in his power and agility. They brainwashed him, making him another mindless soldier, and introduced him to the other kaiju. The other aliens were pretty surprised to see their former foe, and some were even suspicious, being purposely cruel to try to draw out any secret intentions. However one kaiju saw good in Megalon-Gigan. They eventually became fast friends, to the point where they would take bullets for each other during training. Though his support, Megalon became an extremely capable fighter, and when the time finally came to invade Earth, Megalon was instrumental in its defeat. His drills could easily cut through the crystals SpaceGodzilla planted, making him the guy to go to when a crystal problem arose. Earth-and SpaceGodzilla-stood no chance. After Earth was fully invaded, Megalon was recognized as the strongest of the monsters and took his place as leader of the Vortaak's kaiju. While everyone except Megalon knew the truth about his past, it wouldn't be too far off the mark to say he was much happier now. Archer-Bro for president! Who's with me?
The devs didn't have enough monsters for the Alien faction, so they threw Megalon into that group so the Mutants/Earth Defenders wouldn't be so bloated
Sama thing happened to Battra for mutants in PS2 version. While in the movie he is an anti hero, in many non film media, he is potrayed as evil monster

Another good playthrough from your brother. I had no idea Megalon's napalm bombs could be spammed like this to do some massive damage to other kaiju in this game. This leads to some things I want to ask you. 1. Are there any kaiju besides Destoroyah and Megalon who have exploitable attacks to deal massive damage in this game? 2. This is unrelated to my previous question, but was prompted by how many times Obsidious appeared in this video. Just how exactly does Obsidious see if he has no eyes? Is Obsidious similar to that of a Xenomorph in that he uses echolocation?
1) Not sure if this counts, but there's King Ghidorah and Mecha-King Ghidorah. If you have 3 or 4 energy cells full, fly into the air and unleash your beam. With 3/4 energy cells, all three heads fire simultaneously, doing triple the usual damage (if you have 2 energy cells, it does double). If you're able to consistently keep the beams on the opponent, it drains their HP like crazy, far faster than any other monster in the game. Likewise, there's also Megaguirus. Whomever beam she sucks up and uses, she can keep firing it indefinitely. The only way to stop her is to stun her/knock her over so that it interrupts the beam animation. Works incredibly well if you have MG1 or MG2's beams, since those can knock down monsters, unlike other projectiles. 2) No idea. Perhaps he uses some of the crystal energy his body was created from? Or some kind of heat sensing ability? It's a mystery!

Megalon is the brawl meta knight of this game.

Why did you just write a whole essay
After megalons intro he does the ultra man pose
Gigan megalon old pal show these chumps whose boss!
Megalon right!
Megalon would be my favorite Godzilla:Unleashed character if the beam wouldn't point always upwards.
awesome video though.
Oh gosh, did Megalon just gave the other Kaiju the old "Hot Foot" by shooting a fireball on the ground close to their feet? *chuckles* ^^
I'm kind of confuse about the status of Megalon. It's an alien, but it also an Earth defender. And how is it an alien if it's an Earth monster though?
