Hey MC! I'm so happy that you got to unbox this finally! It's because I was researching my first OTF that I found your channel! The design of the rear of the Shift has been refined recently. Now the pocket clip is reversible. They also have a S20V option for like $10-20 more. For $200 these Axial Shifts are a huge OTF value. P.S. Did you notice the USA flag milled into the side of the handle?

Ive been carrying my shift (DE 20cv) for 4 months now beaten on it plenty, cut just about everything you can think of even cut through come shipping straps on crates and its held up to the task. Action is still good given i put super lube in the guides. Maintenance to edges just needed slight honing then strop. Second to none pocket clip durability ! Overall very happy BTW. Titanium key rings are awesome from Axial.
So I love my microtechs and been trying to collect them but the guardian and now this has me wanting to check them out. Between this one and the guardian which do you think is done better, smoother, and all about most fun to play with.

I like the knife. I'm not sure how that pocket clip could be reversible, because it goes in at an angle. Maybe the company could sell/provide a clip for the other side. Looks to be very smooth in operation. A lot of good things here with this product.
I got two, I gotta say the wharncliffe is my favorite. Slices really good, sharpened well. Also comes in different color options and made in the USA. I have opened it up, very clean inside, no sloppy milling, etc.
Nice! That Wharncliffe option is what caught my eye as well. I really like that blade shape, and to the best of my knowledge. This is the only OTF with that style. The price is also more manageable. At least for my budget currently. I definitely am interested in others impressions who have bought them as well.
I bought that black/bronze Dirac Delta after seeing yours. Still one of the best looking otf's in my opinion. Just bought the black/bronze Full serrated version also.
Get a BM autocrat they are dope and the only truly centered otf available (not sure about the deadlock) . Js it's probably the best otf dagger reliability wise with double springs and few moving parts .. saved my life at hobby lobby
Have the Combat Tradoon. Love it but boy is the action stiff! Sent it in and they put in a lighter spring bit it is STILL really tough on the thumbs! Wow!
Great knife. I've had one since beginning of December. I thought about Microtech but decided on lower price Axiak Shift. From what I gather from reviews the biggest difference id Microtech's higher price.
I knew subscribing to this channel was going to cost me money eventually. Don't really need another knife but here I am buying an OTF Auto because it's made in the USA and I don't have one.
Have you seen the Templar OTF, there aren't too many reviews out there for them and I would like your opinion on one. I watch alot of your content and it's very helpful when I'm choosing knives. I'm actually carrying a Spyderco Tenacious right now to dip into the line.
I'm very interested, been looking for a more affordable option then Microtech, I have been looking at Cobratec heard mixed things about them, don't know if they are actually made in the USA, but yeah I'll keep my eye on Axial.
It looks cool but if I'm going to spend over 200 on an OTF I'm just going to spend a bit more and get a Microtech since the reputation of the company is so well known.
Just curious... how safe are otf knives while carrying them in pocket?? I'm normally a folding knife guy for EDC... but the otf style looks very interesting...
They’re quite safe, especially the stiffer the action. Plus if deployed by accident, which would require a lot of force on the action, the blade would not have very much energy as they pop off track. There are videos of people deploying into cardboard and other things to show how little energy there is. I would worry more about an assisted open knife without a lock button than an OTF design
That is a very nice knife, IMO. Makes me excited that it's a USA brand as well. If I know you said the price is competitive to microtech, which I find to be overpriced, so now I'm off to check thei price of this new one. L(k((
I have one and really enjoy it, but I'm dubious about their made in America claims. I'd wager a lot of 🤑 that they're assembled in Utah, not 100% manufactured in Utah.
Briefly examined their website, nothing about the manufacturing process or facilities mentioned in the "about us" section. In the shop under item specifications I found "country of origin: usa". If they were all us-made they would be screaming it from the mountain tops.
looks shouldn’t be important but they are to me. microtech just look much cooler than basically all other otf’s. so it’s a no for me. nice knife at a good price though!

I’ve had one for a few weeks. Great solid knife firm pressure needed to open so no unwanted opens. Feels great in the hand.

And it does not have that nub of a glass breaker. I've never cared for the glass breaker on Microtech knives. I may have to give this company a look

When you order on their site you can specify left or right carry.
I picked one up sometime last year. I have been more and more impressed with mine as I use it. It gets more pocket time than my Ultratech does.
I have the new one that is flared and fully reversible clip because the back is more level. I can send that to you to review along with it.

Handled one at DLT Trading, and as long as these hold up as well long term these seem like an awesome option.
Clip isn’t reversible due to angle at top... but still a win.

Can't imagine that pocket clip is reversible with the angle. Cool knife though. Living in MD saves me a lot of money I'd otherwise spend on OTF autos.
Yeah it looks removable but because of the angle probably not reversible.
Probably replaceable but not reversible. Not a terrible compromise though
