I dont know why people hate the art change, it makes sense because it looks very year one style-ish and Batman himself is year one Miller in this. Its snyder way of homaging the original comic. Moreover, Snyder's technique to switch artist for different period of time in comic story timeline had been done ever since 2010 with Batman black mirror. In that comic, he switches artists for us to see whats past or present, its phenomenal trick to tell a story because in movie the only way to show a flashback is put it in black and white, while comic has better advantages here, you can see full colors everything, why complaining now (people in the comment)
@Stealthybat39 I'm complaining because it's impossible without gamma rays for the Abolute Batman in his 20s to triple in size by present day. They offer no explanation. Does he just change size based on artist? Did he have a pituitary gland issue which made him keep growing? Did he create a super soldier serum? Working out doesn't make you taller and increase the length of your arms and legs.
I prefer Nicks art style but this grew on me, and i do love the depth added to Thomas being a legitimate GOOD FATHER to Bruce... Im tired of the "ewww your dad wasnt such a good guy" plot-NOT-twist
@Rengokuo4o6 very... The Batman is one of the few exceptions for me. It shows that Thomas was a good but complicated man who got backed into a corner. He didn't want that jackass reporter publicly defacing his wife, but he didn't want him hurt or killed. There was nuance to that.
Thomas Wayne was always a good father to Bruce, some stories to show him as a bit distant and harsh but still a good man. These stories that show him as a bad father are character derailment created for shock value.
9:59 thats what i got : that batman was symbol of fear all about darkness This batman is all about protection he is using darkness to be a light of hope! And joker here is rich right? I think its implying that without crime alley,Bruce Wayne would have been a psychopathic freak, a joker if you may!
I like the story itself it even surpassed my original favorite the New 52 Batman. I just wish they kept the art consistent. Even if we had to wait another week or a month it would’ve been worth it.
well in the Absolute Universe, Superman fails at school, because he would rather handwrite his own research paper by actually doing research manually instead of relying on computer generated texts, it's kind of like working hard to get original ideas instead of using an automated system that gives you the same answer all the time, and this displeased his teachers on Krypton and distanced him from the rest of his class on the other hand, Absolute Batman was not born with "I am rich" powers and had to work hard to earn his keep and fund his secret vigilante activities out of his own pocket, he was still a genius though and learned to modify weapons to become non-lethal, but he would rather cause more chaos in Gotham than trying to put a stop to it, the only thing that made his life a little better than his Prime Earth counterpart is the fact that he still has his mom, only his dad died, but that was already traumatizing enough for him to become Batman
I get a lot of golden age nostalgia from that idea! For a while all of his skills had an American flavor (cowboys, Indians,, fbi, etc) then the 70s brought in more globe trotting/espionage elements that I think take over most modern takes… this one feels like a vigilante jack kerouac(sp?) I haven’t liked a majority of comics in a long time but this one is entertaining.
What a coincidence, MY Father died from a Heart Attack of Unknown Causes as well. And here I thought Spider-Man was relatable, but Absolute Batman is perhaps the closest I’ve gotten to relating to a fictional character. 🤩
The art didn't bother me...but early batman is 1/3 the size of the current batman? What happened? No amount of working out will cause that. The flashback of batman shows him with a Steve Rogers size body, but somehow his body later turned into the Hulk?
Pin this so everyone know if you think its necessary. I'm sure this needs to be said i saw a channel with so many subscribers and so many ppl criticized batman pulling gun on Alfred last time and that person said "batman doesn't use gun" That person is stupid cuz he shouldn't say things like that cuz a character used something and he didn't like it Batman in main Universe a gun took his parents from him so that's why he hates guns! in absolute universe it wasn't a gun it was bats that took his father so with that person's logic batman shouldn't exist! Either way why he should have beef with guns here when nothing happened? by the way Great job brother and tnx for always being the first one to let us (who can't buy comics where i live) enjoy this aswell
his father was killed by a gun in the absolute universe. He doesn’t use guns anymore in this universe either. In this issue he has a gun, but later gets rid of it. This issue is also a reference to the original batman/detective comic where he wears a similar suit and uses a gun.
Wow! Great Superman, great Wonder Woman, and three great issues of Batman. And then, the most absurdly stupid issue from DC! So early grown up bruce is batman, and his body is like Peter Parker....but later his body is the Hulk? No amount of working out makes your bones longer or makes you taller. Are we gonna find out he invented a super serum or gamma bomb? Yeah, it's a fantasy. But even fictional stories need to make sense. Very disappointing. Has killed my excitement about the Absolute Universe.
I don’t like this absolute Batman is too good to be just a five issue miniseries I hope we get more issues same with all the other comics and the absolute universe
Where did you hear it was a miniseries? It’s an ongoing just like all the other absolute books. I don’t know where you’d get that it’s only a miniseries, especially since it’s Batman, why would they Only make it a mini series makes no sense.

the people complaining hate any sort of change. Most seem to think all comic art should just be the same with no actual style.
@Stealthybat39 I'm complaining because it's impossible without gamma rays for the Abolute Batman in his 20s to triple in size by present day. They offer no explanation. Does he just change size based on artist?

"Actually, the Waynes are horrible people because they're billionaires"- 🤓
@Rengokuo4o6 very... The Batman is one of the few exceptions for me. It shows that Thomas was a good but complicated man who got backed into a corner.
He didn't want that jackass reporter publicly defacing his wife, but he didn't want him hurt or killed. There was nuance to that.
To be a billionaire is inherently a bad thing 99.9% of the time, because 99.9% of the time it involves exploitation of others
Thomas Wayne was always a good father to Bruce, some stories to show him as a bit distant and harsh but still a good man. These stories that show him as a bad father are character derailment created for shock value.
It’s very Romita Sr. right or maybe Jr? it’s definitely Romita, right?
I loved this issue and Absolute Batman is one of my favorite issues. I love Scott Snyder's writing and his fresh take on Batman.
9:59 thats what i got :

I'm really liking where this is going, quite enjoying this work.
I want that RC Bat mobile available for retail purchase in the future.
It should come with a Bubble Jack, too. There would NEVER be a reason why it shouldn't be 100% accurate to the comic.
I like the story itself it even surpassed my original favorite the New 52 Batman. I just wish they kept the art consistent. Even if we had to wait another week or a month it would’ve been worth it.
I actually do know what a "bubble jack" is and you're right
So Superman fails at school and sucks at studying while Bruce is a genius. Lol

I like this artwork over the other one. Because in this, Bruce looks less like a roided out monster. Also, it reminds me of early TMNT.
8:46 ohhhh so thats the differences in this world thomas never got his gear
Am I’m the only one who wants (Brain Bloom) to be the voice of Absolute Batman.
Can't wait to see what the absolute justice league looks like, as well as a cross over with the main universe.
Love the art 🎉
If it's only for past like batman it's really funny he doesn't use any particular fang but just fucking teeth toy lmao 4:02
This is so DAMN GOOD!!!!
It would be dope if instead of him learning his body control techniques from the monks in this one he learns it from the indians
Perhaps if he loses to the Joker, and feels that he (Bruce) still needs to improve himself.
@ right, but possibly. They basically made him (joker) ghostmaker but without the anti hero bid
I get a lot of golden age nostalgia from that idea! For a while all of his skills had an American flavor (cowboys, Indians,, fbi, etc) then the 70s brought in more globe trotting/espionage elements that I think take over most modern takes… this one feels like a vigilante jack kerouac(sp?)

I have a theory that maybe the bride that Bruce designed will be the Arkham bride.
What a coincidence, MY Father died from a Heart Attack of Unknown Causes as well.

I'm sorry about your father.
@: THANKS for the condolences. 😉
@ you’re welcome
I didn’t mind the change of art. It was just random. But I wasn’t a fan of the change of font in some of the art.
Still fire!
Would you mind letting me know where you get the scans for this?
How do you get the issues early?
I love this Batman
I’m not a fan of this particular issues artwork….
That shit ass
Relax. It's just for this issue only
People seem to say that every time there’s new artwork, which is why not everyone’s opinion matters.
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mw solid it didn’t take me out of it.

It might be,since it's the only issue of the year 😮
If batman was biting people im sure crime would go down 😂
Art style is different from past issues, it sucks they changed the art style
It's not something that should be done, but I do like the art.
It could be somekind past thing
Original Batman Relatability:
No Powers < Rich.
Absolute Batman:
No Powers = Poor/Low Class.
About time
Yooooo!! Edward batman year one !!!! 😂❤ They went there !! There!!
Pin this so everyone know if you think its necessary.

@rich4768 i know he doesn't use it.
But they said he even shouldn't pick up the gun..
or use a tranquilizer gun like what he did to alfred
This art is dcs miller

Very disappointing. Has killed my excitement about the Absolute Universe.
the only thing i didnt enjoy was reading all that cursive. it kind of hurt my eyes
Good issue, but for the love of God Scott please don't commit to making Bruce's narration cursive!
i kind of started skimming through it because it hurt to read.

The art in this issue was terrible.
Disappointed they chose not to get rid of his no kill rule in this universe but the story itself is still good enough to contiune reading
Agreed. It's not just that they won't get rid of it. They'll handle the topic like 3 year olds.
Then go read punisher
A Batman who kills isn't Batman. That simple.
@@Rengokuo4o6The topic is always handled pretty well.

Looks like the art was drawn by a 5 year old lol.
Way to tell us you know nothing about art. Either that or you strongly overestimate 5 yr olds for some reason.
wtf is this art
Relax
Can DC please bring back the original artist for future issues. This looks like a 14 years old drew this.
You haven't met many 14 year olds, have you?

....yeah...
Holy shit you talk so much. Stick to the story.
