- Here is the original intro of Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 from PS2.
The original video had some quality problem, such as extreme blur on mostly all the scene, i couldn't do a lot about it sadly since the original source is "made this way".
All was upscale into 4K using AI upscaler and adobe after effect.
It was converted entierly into true 60fps !

I usually skipped anime intros, but I'd never skip this one
I apologize in advance if the video look blurry most of the time, the original video looked this way which means that the devellopers put intentionally intense blur into the video. I did what i can to fix it without killing the whole quality, but it was kinda tricky with lot of retry :).
Doesn’t even bother me, I just love how you are remastering all these intros from games I loved as a kid, and are currently replaying

The slow mo of that diablo pursuit car taking that turn like a boss is iconic. That and the NFS edition of the McLaren F1 are what made me freak out as a kid

The part where the yellow Lambo throws the highlights to Ferrari at 1:00 is too much to handle, but just a few seconds later, the Diablo drifting… wow
One of the best intros in gaming.
Its so cool gives character to the car like its telling the ferrari to go faster lol
2001 Lamborghini Murcielago in yellow might be my favourite car of all time, holy shit as a kid I loved that car so much
One day my father came home from work with a copy of this game. He had borrowed it from a colleague at work and burned it over to a CD for me and wrote the CD-key with a sharpie on the disc. This intro just gives me a massive hit of nostalgia. It reminds me of what a great childhood I had and that I have a father that really cared for me. It's more than a video game intro for me. It's a reminder for me who I am and where I come from.
I feel you bro. I was 12 when I played this game. Was halfway through the game when I installed a graphics card (dont remember which one, it was some old nvidia). When I booted the game and saw the reflections, omfg I still remember how shocked I was. It was like looking through a window for me. The nostalgia man ufff

This game me insane nostalgic goosebumps, I was 9 when I bought this game for my friend's birthday. It was the first ever CD I bought in my life for one simple reason - it was a game CD with the pictures of Ferrari and Lamborghini on it.

I just realized the intro has a Pursuit Diablo 6.0, but the PS2 version of the game doesn't have that despite being in the intro.

I don't know where to start and I don't know how to speak properly, but I would like to say that it is the best and most beautiful game on my part. I swear to God that this game is better than any game I have played or watched. This is the game I lived a wonderful childhood with
The child in me has a tear in its eye over the beauty of this while the adult in me has has an increased heart rate as well as the possible experience of a slight erection that I can neither confirm or deny.
This was my introduction to a console NFS game if I remember correctly and I pretty much ate every game up since on the consoles I owned until I stoped updating consoles after The Wii and Xbox 360. (In my defense I was always hot and cold and streaky when it came to playing video games and when I had my own money and consoles approached like 450+ not including an extra controller, head set if need be, and any online or live subscriptions, pretty much just the basics and a few games, would run you like 800 or so I just didn’t see it being a worthwhile investment. If I get the extra money one day I’d certainly upgrade my consoles and fall back in love with all the new shit)
This game has so many amazing songs that’s still hold up and I’ve listened to as recently as just a few weeks ago.
I’m personally against people who think violent video games have some sort of effect on culture or add to violence in children or even with older people but I might give some credence to a theory that suggests playing this franchise growing up as a kid and even later in life increases the change that said individuals speed irl. I personally speed a bunch ( under the right circumstances don’t kill yourself or get caught ;) so maybe there’s some legitimacy to that theory haha.

It's crazy that we will NEVER see textures THIS clean ever again in games. Too high resolutions now. Engines now have to handle 4k. Back then people were playing on av cables so they would push the fattest textures possible

@@budaroddy the song's actually from Need for Speed II:SE and III. there's a website that keeps track of the spundtracks to NFS and many other racing games, just lookup "need for speed soundtracks" in google and you should be able to find it

I think it's a ferrari 360s or something idk. Also the Lamborghini Diablo is the police car at the end. The racer car is a lamborghini murcialago.

@@shira_yone There is a list on the discord server of what people want, i do them when i had time :) Those remaster take huge amount of time sadly, which is why new video appear slowly.

sad thing is that I remember this game being as HD as this upscaled intro.
9/10 just need deinterlace, but amazing result..
Sadly impossible de deinterlace, the original files was a reconversion, EA games just convert it straight from deinterlace so the files on the game was deinterlace but "sticked"...... There should be "one" version of the game that is possible to deinterlace, so if anyone found it i would gladly redo it :)
