And when asked about falsetto, Yannis replied that he doesn't use it because he feels his voice never disconnects. That first part is him comfortably singing in his mixed voice.
There is only three valid reactions I've seen to this. One. Shock and Awe. Two. Big wide smiles. Three. Tears. Or four. All of the above. I do agree with Tom there. Some songs should never be covered, it somehow... hurts the holiness of it. This was one of those songs, but Yannis absolutely nailed it.
Well, Floor did cover it and made it way poppier than it was originally which truly did hurt the holiness off it so you're not wrong. Ghost love score, Deep silent complete, Ever dream, Crownless, She is my sin and couple others are Tarja's songs 100% and one doesn't simply cover them.
@@TomTuffnuts be proud! There is no holding it together when Floor sings. Seriously though, shows that the reaction is genuine 👏 Can’t fake that. I was grinning the entire time with you. Keep it up, man!

Yannis is excellent singer! This is one of only 3 Nightwish covers that I do like and listen to. The others are Tim Ackerman's cover of Nemo on Beste Zangers 2019 and Soulspell Metal Opera's cover of Ever Dream
My recommendation for everyone to listen to: Panos Geo Covers "Ghost Love Score". It is a full band cover, very good musicians. Vocals Angel Wolf-Black, bass Becky Baldwin. Both talented (and beautiful) Jarkko Ahola is thought to be a possible replacement for Marko. Propably not because they are especially looking for a BASSIST. He was in Northern Kings with Marko and two other great singers. He has performed with Tuomas' wife Johanna Kurkela, (and Tuomas has kissed him. lol) Jarkko is a very good self taught singer, not sure if he was good enough for Nightwish as a bassist, but he has played the bass. I would say women particularly seem to love Jarkko, but men too. Jarkko loves metal but can sing anything, operatic style included. React to Jarkko Ahola "Nessun Dorma". The boss lady of the Finnish National Opera was impressed. If you like to hear Tuomas' wife Johanna sing I suggest you react to: Tuomas Holopainen "A Lifetime of Adventure" Such a beautiful song, and voice. Beast in Black is from Finland, Yannis Papadopoulos is from Greece, as his name tells.
I love Yannis voice on Beast in Black. He is not Floor but I love how he brought this cover to his own. I Love it! Yannis did a very good cover of Kansas song Carry on Wayword son. Very good cover!

No, he is not the subtitude for marko. A session bassist wiil play the bas parts of Marko , Marko singing part will be done by Floor or Troy or never be played live again. We still hope that Marko will come back some day.
Music is instrumental version of song. You can get it by purchasing double CD version of album. I can't remember name of it but it's one of the Tarja era albums.
Other cover type things: 1. Crewish - The Nightwish tour crew released an album covering Nightwish songs as a fundraiser (its in the official Nightwish store) 2. I think he sang to the 2005 GLS instrumental version that Nightwish put on their "Once" album. It accentuated the choral and Orchestral parts since there was no vocalist track. Anyone else feel that way?
The original NW recording is Tarja singing. However Yannis did his version closer to Floor’s. I thought Yannis joining NW was just fan speculation. Can anyone confirm? There’s some logistical challenges as Yannis doesn’t play bass so they would need another musician. Would he leave Beast in black or try to juggle both bands? This song never had a music video, it’s only ever been played live from 2004-present, although there was a break between 2007-2008, the song was then played again with Anette in 2009. Everybody have their jaws dropping to floor and Yannis still wasn't even happy with his performance of this song. If I remember correctly, he recorded this video in 2016 and didn't release it because he didn't consider it good enough. See The Charismatic Voice interview of him for more details.
as i am greek I'm very proud what Yannis has achieved with his hard work. For more of him, do react to Kamelot's "The Haunting" cover together with Vicky Psarakis, a female greek singer who sings for The Agonist, a Canadian metal band. ua-cam.com/video/O6VwazU2pcQ/v-deo.html
For your wife... Nightwish - High Hopes. Marco sing alone. This guy her is not the replacement for Marco. Never. Really? 😂 No never. Wtf?! 😳 13:13 no, no, never ever, no!! 20:45 no, no, nooooo!! 🤨 Listen to your wife! 11:38 😁 . That almost borders on blasphemy. OMG. You missed April 1st. This is not going to be a joke. I think you once said you are not at home in the metal genre. So be forgiven. If you look back on this video after a few years of indoptrination, you will say to yourself "wtf how could I?" 😁 After the first note, I get nightmares. It feels so unnatural. Of course he has a great voice, undisputed. But this doesn't work for me at all. That's ridiculous. Jarkko Ahola was talking to replace Marco. But I don't think he is anymore either. They are primarily looking for a bass player. Singing is not a must. Troy will take over the part where it fits and where it doesn't fit the song will be removed from the setlist. I think that will be the case with some songs because Troy has a too soft voice for many songs.
I must agree, even though I like beast in black. I don’t get why it is supposed to be great when man sounds like a girl, same thing with that singer Dimash, he can go high and low, but sounds horrible in my ears 🙅♀️
So true, but with modern vocal processing software they can try it in a studio setting, just like Yannis does here lip-syncing to a pre-recorded vocal track.
@@hamohamo8270 Dimash is amazing but I still don't think he is capable of the emotional intensity of Roy Khan. For example, the song Abandoned. No one can sing that like Roy.
No never a replacement for Marko!!! He has an exceptional voice but the contrast between Marko and Floor makes the songs so great! The grit in Marko s voice and than the other way round Marko singing with his clean voice and Floor growling or playing different parts like in Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean! That made them so outstanding! Please check out Jarkko Ahola with his versions of Stormbringer or Highway Star!🔥😀He sings very high too but with his own/selfedcuted style. There were rumours about him as replacement. But no longer as i ve heard. Sadly!
He can't be a replacement for Marko unless he's a sick bass player, his voice is also a compeltely different style. I love him, he's my second favourite singer after Floor but that's not his destiny surely.
Who will replace Marko?... Yarko, Yannis... Marko Hietala returns?! Tuomas Previously said he cannot tolerate another lineup change... Well, this is a BIG ONE! He Knew at least a month before this announcement! The new recent announcement of a forthcoming album speaks volumes! Nightwish will live on no matter what! Much love to Marko, best wishes! May his awesome twin beard rock the bass while his hands remain free to craft more awesome for us all! "How's the heart"?. 'While Your Lips Are Still Red"! We have a journey ahead! Together we move forth! I will see you there!
The only artist that comes to mind who can also achieve this is The Darkness with in my opinion their best song: I believe in a thing called love. Check that one out if you want.
i don't think there's any type of music video for GLS. Only live versions. I believe I heard that GLS was like a b-side to another nightwish song. Can't recall what that a-side would have been.
yes its the same name, yannis or yiannis or ioannis its the same at greece. i know that gutarist also but the name yiannis papadopoulos its a very un rare name at greece.i think the 10% of the greeks have this name lol
America is lazy and congested with autotune...ei/ listen to Gaga (one of our biggest artists), the entire album is congested with autotune that can be distinctly heard on a high end system...pew! To listen to real music one must close the door and cross the ocean to real talent. Floor is a great example of dedication, hard work, and true passion as a vocalist.
While i agree, Gaga doesnt need autotune to be honest. Lots of artist use autotune, even the good ones. The prob is is the ones that use it that cant sing without it
@@TomTuffnuts Todays high end/hifi receivers and audio technology allow you not only just listen to a song but to also watch the sound waves on a screen in a timing cut of the song. We have 2 4k's on the wall above/below, so we watch the music video along with the sound wave cut right below it. An example would be Floor's Cover of Oblivion with the sound wave mixing screen shown in the background of the video. So autotune can not just be heard it can be also seen on a screen with this technology . After hosting and attending many audiophile house gatherings "autotune" is the star of the party, many pauses/rewinds with comments- it's an audio nerd thing. American music with Gaga as the "Queen of Autotune" is the star of the party sadly. Where Gaga is the queen of autotune, Floor has had no autotune ever detected in any sound tract of her entire career. Thus the statement "The most powerful Vocalist on the Planet" being seen in almost every reaction video comment section on UA-cam. I'll include a link to a autotune free song that includes many rare hardworking Vocalists. Thank you for some great reactions, you'll be included in our next audiophile gathering. You guys may be shooting me down for this. Floor is incomparable and attempting a cover like this is crazy. No way this guy is anything like Marko. I will give him a chance though listening to Beast in Black… but this, no thanks. 🤨
Unfortunately Nightwish has gone downhill ever since Floor joined. There hasn't even been new album for years. Tuomas sounds better in Darkwoods My Betrothed.
@@pieteruys8961 No. Imaginaerum is last decent NW album. After that Tuomas is so focused on his VSTs it takes him 4-5 years to get enough music for new album. There's barely any metal in their music in last two albums.
@@UltraCasualPenguin i like the last 2 albums. Yes its different but still very good and Thoumas said in a interview they are busy recording the demos for the next album.
Have you possibly heard of a band called Queen, possibly a singer called Freddie Mercury...... Have you possibly heard of a band called Iron Maiden, possibly a singer called Bruce Dickinson.... Just to name a couple.... Also, while I agree with his talent, it sounds unnatural and the parts where he tried to imitate the "Floor" version, just doesn't sound right. Makes more sense if he would have done it in a more rocky/metal voice than trying to imitate the higher ranges. There are so many parts in this version where, it's not the smoothness of Floor's voice, so it sounds unnatural, and when he drops into that more growly section, it still sounds like an imitation done by a budding singer rather than someone with this much talent. Not to take away from Yannis, I think he is an amazing singer, but trying to imitate this version rather than change the parts more suited to his voice, makes the song sound off and unnatural. Also, just an aside, while he can reach those higher ranges, he doesn't bring the emotion to the song that Floor does in all her performances. It just sounds like a poor imitation.
Floor operatic voice was clear, wider, more powerful, more varied, and she sang live in a crazy environment before this song, she sang one song after another for over an hour, this guy is far from Floor.I hope the translator translated correctly.
@@anthrazite When Tarja sang this song, the song was completely operatic, Floor changed song and made it more varied a cooler. This dude's version is as monotonous as Tarja, version Floor is number 1 and most people agree.
I like him in Beast in Black but he should stick to that. I did not like this at all. How could anyone attempt this is way beyond my comprehension. Don’t get me wrong he has an interesting voice but should not try to copy Floor will always come up very short of the mark. I hope he’s not the replacement which I don’t think he is as Tuomas has said they will be using a session bass guitarist for the time being. ❤️🤘🇦🇺
he is comparable with only one singer going that high and that is the lead singer from Steelheart with this song ua-cam.com/video/ICJs1CxCRt0/v-deo.html FYI this song is in top 50 best rock ballads of all time so maybe do a reaction to it s well i do not know its up to you.
I love your reaction, but I have to pretend I didn't see this video and a couple of comments here that pissed me off so I could see other reactions to Floor that I haven't seen on the this channel yet.
Nightwish version is much better. This is far from his natural "tone", while floor IS in her natural "tone".I'm sure he is talented, but for me this got all kind of wrong.Operatic may be much more difficult for a man.

Everybody have their jaws dropping to floor and Yannis still wasn't even happy with his performance of this song. If I remember correctly, he recorded this video in 2016 and didn't release it because he didn't consider it good enough. See The Charismatic Voice interview of him for more details.
I have seen him live ... he is even better live!
I have heard this from many people. Cant wait to see Gannis in may
Epic song and excellent performance. Great reaction. - Elly
Beast in Black Live Show is a Blast !!! Yannis covers!!! wow!!!
I laugh so hard everytime he calls Yannis name
BTW how should we call the thing happened in the end? Yannisgasm? 😁
Check out his cover of Let It Go from Frozen too. With the long history of women covering guys' songs, it is great seeing some guys return the favor.
as i am greek I'm very proud what Yannis has achieved with his hard work. For more of him, do react to Kamelot's "The Haunting" cover together with Vicky Psarakis, a female greek singer who sings for The Agonist, a Canadian metal band. ua-cam.com/video/O6VwazU2pcQ/v-deo.html
Amazing
For your wife... Nightwish - High Hopes. Marco sing alone.
This guy her is not the replacement for Marco. Never. Really? 😂 No never. Wtf?! 😳
13:13 no, no, never ever, no!!
20:45 no, no, nooooo!! 🤨
Listen to your wife! 11:38 😁 .
That almost borders on blasphemy. OMG. You missed April 1st. This is not going to be a joke.
I think you once said you are not at home in the metal genre. So be forgiven. If you look back on this video after a few years of indoptrination, you will say to yourself "wtf how could I?" 😁
After the first note, I get
nightmares.
"Master, Passion, Greed" too.
No one can compare with the angelic voice of Floor.
So true, but with modern vocal processing software they can try it in a studio setting, just like Yannis does here lip-syncing to a pre-recorded vocal track.
Well Roy Khan is the best singer ever if we're talking about male singers too.
@@luxetveritas9196 In metal maybe Roy Khan is the best, but outside of metal there is Dimash, but I won't argue who is better.
@@hamohamo8270 Dimash is amazing but I still don't think he is capable of the emotional intensity of Roy Khan. For example, the song Abandoned. No one can sing that like Roy.
As well as this song from his band before Kamelot, for example ua-cam.com/video/53HGdICWAbg/v-deo.html
THe incredible thing is that it's not falsetto. This guy could be a phenomenon if he sang baroque opera
BTW Papadopoulos is the most common family name in Greece
First time i see your wife reacts like this, she waa so in to it!
Don't know if anyone agrees with me but it sounds more like Tarja's version (background wise) with Floor's added vocals at the end. just saying.
Oh c'mon he did a great job, why compare all the time 😉
I am not sure if he gets as high as Yannis, or possibly goes higher, but check out Carry On by Angra
Fabio is a fucking god. As well as Roy Kahn.
Im right behind ya!
Nightwish has been kind of dead since Tarja went out, without both Tarja AND Make, the band is dead, at least original sound is which was THE SHIT.
Only the Goddess of Metal and Empathy can sing this song. It is her song and she made it epic. IMO.
Ghost love score aka GHOST LOVE FLOOR.
C'mon he did great, deal with it 😆
@@nubiatb1151 nope
@@eddiecreutzburg7375 And by the way it's Tuomas's song 😉
@@nubiatb1151 True, but the last part was hers.
She confirmed it.
@@eddiecreutzburg7375 I agree 👍
He's a greek god, that's the explanation.
If Yannis joined nightwish Floor would be the backup singer
The only artist that comes to mind who can also achieve this is The Darkness with in my opinion their best song: I believe in a thing called love. Check that one out if you want.
Holy ....
What a voice
I don't think they had Wookie's in mind when they designed him, Chewie! ... You're right, pal!
i don't think there's any type of music video for GLS. Only live versions. I believe I heard that GLS was like a b-side to another nightwish song. Can't recall what that a-side would have been.
I love how you nail the pronunciation of his last name! its a typical Greek name that twists the tongue of non Greek speaking people!
I thought this was the lead guitarist for now solo artist Scott Stapp (former lead singer of Creed) but his name is spelt Yiannis Papadopoulos! :-)
yes its the same name, yannis or yiannis or ioannis its the same at greece. i know that gutarist also but the name yiannis papadopoulos its a very un rare name at greece.i think the 10% of the greeks have this name lol
Yanis est incroyable
I personally like it better because nightwish 🤷💙
You guys may be shooting me down for this. Floor is incomparable and attempting a cover like this is crazy. No way this guy is anything like Marko. I will give him a chance though listening to Beast in Black… but this, no thanks. 🤨
You guys are just Floor simping too hard
@@anthrazite She does dress the way that draws attention from weak men.
he is from venus😊
Hmmm I Think that NW should hire him as male vokalist for the band, Damn Floor and Yannis together could be fire 🤷🏻♀️😍🎶🇩🇰
I like yannis's voice and his singing but Floor is just so much more dinamic and the emotions that she brings out with here voice cant be matched.
Unfortunately Nightwish has gone downhill ever since Floor joined. There hasn't even been new album for years.
Tuomas sounds better in Darkwoods My Betrothed.
@@UltraCasualPenguin are you living under a rock?
@@pieteruys8961 No. Imaginaerum is last decent NW album. After that Tuomas is so focused on his VSTs it takes him 4-5 years to get enough music for new album. There's barely any metal in their music in last two albums.
@@UltraCasualPenguin i like the last 2 albums. Yes its different but still very good and Thoumas said in a interview they are busy recording the demos for the next album.
@@pieteruys8961 Who's Thoumas?
Papadum! :-)
I don't like to listen Ghost love score by anyone else but Floor.
is Greek singer;
You forgot to mention that Yannis is a dude, and that the song was literally made for Floors vocal range so of course she can be more dynamic in it...
@@anthrazite The song was made for Tarja
@@hamohamo8270 Pretty much exactly the same vocal range
@@anthrazite When Tarja sang this song, the song was completely operatic, Floor changed song and made it more varied a cooler. This dude's version is as monotonous as Tarja, version Floor is number 1 and most people agree.
@@hamohamo8270 I don't think you know what operatic and monotonous means if you use those terms to compare the different versions this way
Please just listen to his version of Sahara! I think it's better than this, and also the best version of Sahara!
Dude, you really need to do Diana Anakudanova, "Wicked Game" with your wife! ua-cam.com/video/7jv-DQnf2UY/v-deo.html
If he replaces marco it would kill nightwish for me.
Yes, he is good, but for me there is just one Floor
If you want to hear a male singer going high try dimash kudaibergen. In my view the best singer in the world
Does not work for me. This guy kind of reproduces the sound, but not the emotions.
the voice are also not similar
Seriously is this guy a Castrato? :-)
