my mistake, so i just reviewed the video. I believe you need the CANBUS connection so it can read if the car is in a locked/ unlocked state to know to open the trunk. for the relay and battery that gives it power, also sorry for the confusion

do you have to connect the kick sensor the the canBUS? I've seen older versions of the kick sensor by hansshow not needing this.
@@huyp3861 the reason we connected it to the front right passenger footwell area is to give it power
