Q: "why did Thanos snap?" A: because Thanos snapped to signify how effortless it was in the source material, and the snap became an iconic moment in marvel lore to the point where it would be somewhat insulting not to include it. Basically, fan service to those who were looking forward to a spiritual successor to one of Marvel's most iconic storylines. Q: "why did the others snap?" A: Thanos had a much greater understanding of the stones than anyone on the side of the avengers. The extreme toll the infinity stones take on the user's body (in this version) take experimentation completely off the table. They know from experience that a snap definitely works. Basically, they did it because it was the only method they could be sure would work
Also, since they want to talk about symbolism, he had the power to literally wipe out half the universe with just a snap of his fingers, which he did. I feel like he even said something about that in a previous movie, but that could be a false memory
@@securitysnail5996 you would think that would give them knowledge, but no. All the mind stone is give you control of and the ability to read anyone/everyone's mind. There actually isn't an infinity stone that automatically grants knowledge. The closest is the time stone, which grants you immortality and the ability to control time
Thanos also seems to be the type of character who is fine with telling people his plans because he's confident that he can't be stopped. It's his destiny. He's inevitable. Even if he thought of Nebula as a pawn, why wouldn't he tell her his plan? She's no threat as far as he's concerned.
Plus, in Infinity War, Thanos was so confident he was going to win, he shed his armor as soon as he got the Space Gem. It's like he believed that having just 2/6 of the Infinity Gems meant that he was essentially invincible. Besides, what difference does it make if Nebula knows where he's going to retire after his victory? Until he destroys the Gauntlet, he'd be too powerful to stop anyway.

As far as the "nobody's attacked earth" thing, wouldn't (approximately) half of all potential earth-attackers have also been dusted for that time span?
I mean, up until that point in the MCU, only Asgardians, Kree, Skrulls, and Thanos' forces had been to Earth. Asgardians had forged friendly relations with Earth and were effectively homeless. The Kree backed down since the 90s and they never had much interest in Earth anyway (unless we count AoS and even then its a fringe group of Kree). Skrulls came to Earth following Carol and they have since formed a friendly relationship with both her and Nick Fury. Thanos had already done the deed, and the only reason he went after Earth was because it had Infinity Stones. The only outside threats left come from the mystical side, so we only have to assume that Wong and co. held down the Sanctums in the absence of a Sorcerer Supreme.
Half of the population of the universe being gone is actually a reason for Galactus *not* to attack them. He waits for the worlds to have lots of population because he feasts of life energy. There's even a theory online that Thanos did all this to save everyone from Galactus.
Also if any other groups or beings were going to cause trouble during the aftermath of Thanos, you would think they would avoid the planet that came closer to stopping him than anyone else (even defeated his first invasion in Avengers 1), and then tracked Thanos down and killed him.
The only counter to this I can think of is Dormammu, and I don't think he could have been dusted as he exists in another dimension. Without the Sorcerer Supreme guarding an earth with half the population, Dormammu should have easily taken over.
@@excelsiorcameo5295 But Doctor Strange showed that Dormammu by itself hasn't much interest for invading earth, it only was "activated" by Kaecilius and his guys.

I am genuinely debating if the person who wrote this article didn't even watch Endgame; they just had the plot vaguely described to them by other people.
There totally wasn't a scene where it is shown that this is the ONLY version of time where they win. Meaning everything in this version happened to allow them to win. INCLUDING THE RAT.
Maybe Strange saying there were 14,000,605 futures but they only win one is because the chances of the rat releasing Ant-Man from the Quantum Realm was 1 in 14,000,605.
i have a theory about this. in doctor strange, the ancient one says that when she looks into her future with the time stone, she can never see past her own death. we can assume that these same rules apply to strange. so when strange uses the time stone to see into the future to figure out if they beat thanos, he wouldn't be able to definitively answer whether or not a scenario in which he dies would result in victory. meaning there could be 14 million other scenarios in which strange dies in the final battle or survives the snap and dies in some other way, but they still defeat thanos. another theory i have is that what strange was actually referring to when he said there was just 1 is tony's sacrifice. in every scenario in which they win, tony snaps. this is supported by him saying "if i tell you what's going to happen, it won't happen" which is a somewhat niche line often used in stories with time travel or psychics/premonitions that is to foreshadow that character's death. i think tony was smart enough to infer what that line meant, which is why he knows exactly what he needs to do when strange signals him with a single finger up.

Bucky seemed to know something was going to happen. maybe not exactly what it was but he told steve “...you’re taking all the stupid with you” which i know was a reference to the first avenger but it also implies he knew cap was going to do something.
Bucky totally knew about Cap staying in the past. He said goodbye to Cap instead of something like see you when you get back, he hugged Cap (can't remember if anyone else did this but I don't remember anyone else embracing Cap). Then he sent Sam over to talk to Cap alone rather than going with him, as though he knew this was a conversation for just the two of them.
When cap was old he said he put the stones back then decided to stay "well after I put the stones back I decided to get some of that life tony was telling me to get"
Which makes sense. Bucky is the only other character taken out of time for 70 years. He knew what he would do if he was given an opportunity to get a redo for that time, and assumed Cap would do the same thing.
I think Bucky definitely knew Cap wasn't coming back, I mean Bucky literally says "I'm gonna miss you" where as if he didn't know, that wouldn't really make much sense seeing as if he were returning, he'd be back in about 5 seconds, so, not much time to be missed.
Avengers Endgame was one of the most beautiful movies ever made. When Shrek sacrificed himself to save everybody and Oggway sacrificing himself to save black widow and Hawkeye it was heartbreaking.
"This Thanos didn't snap!" A. he did. Right before Tony did. The "I am inevitable" clanky no stones snap, remember? B, Even if he didn't NEED to snap, based on both Gamora (who knows his plans) saying he would snap to kill half the universe, and Thanos himself always snapping to use the gauntlet on a mass scale, Thanos sure was planning on snapping.
Let's also not forget SR mentioned it themselves that Thanos had planned to snap for years. And even then, Thanos already knew that in that future, he DID snap and kill half of all life. That's why he went to the future. To stop the Avengers from undoing what he did. So he knows he snapped already, he had planned to snap all along, and HE DID SNAP IN FRONT OF TONY. I get tired of this common theme of people disliking that Thor's depression is "played for laughs" as if humor was never a coping strategy employed by people suffering from depression. I resonated with Thor a lot in Endgame and through the humor, whether his own or the movie poking fun at him, saw the pain he was experiencing. Could just be my own struggle with depression that made me see things that weren't there but I do recall the feelings quite vividly.
Yes. Humour is a cooping mechanism. I think it was just as much needed for the characters around Thor as it was for Thor. Its implied by their reactions to his weight gain that none of them had seen him in a ling time. They assumed he was running his village as a leader. I think they felt guilty for not being there and made jokes to lighten the mode.
Yes, laughter is a coping mechanism, but the problem with Thor in particular is that most films in general depict men going through depressive states as jokes and easy to laugh at humor. That's why everybody is so mad about how it was portrayed. A lot of the time women get the emotional moments that make the audiences understand their pain while, in Thor's case, it was used as a punchline in multiple instances.
@@TheKat12364 yeah i used to kinda scrunch me nose at that as well, until i re-evaluate what i thought i knew about how people cope and how others around them react to their coping mechanism. i don't remember every character's reaction to thor sinking that low, but i remember rocket's, and thor's own reaction, and his mum. looking back, watching thor was painful in sympathetic way; i get what they were going for now. and if there's some audience that then treat him as laughing stock, too bad but that checks out-people _do_ in fact laugh at others, anw. it's more of a testament of those particular audience than the movie maker, imo.
His depression wasn't played for laughs, the jokes in the movie were played for laughs. Fat jokes are still considered the only 'safe' jokes to make, but even that is starting to change. WE aren't depressed, so those jokes were made for US to laugh at HIS pain. Thats why people object. Thats because its a movie, not real life. For 'real' then pretty much all bets are off in how people react to half the world disappearing, and Thor, well, the guy has seen his planet destroyed and people devastated. For 'humour' they should have focused on the rock thing and bug. That wasnt' bad with the video games, but could have been better. Hell, some young asgaardians being shown and wishing for the days of Loki in charge would have been truthfully funny. Hell, if Odin could have stayed alive another half year they could have had some real help. But somebody's mother dies in a movie and making jokes about their appearance isn't playing for laughs, its just cruel. Of course sometimes people are cruel, but movies have their own rules to play by.

It was a smart move to make Strange use the ‘one future where we win’ line, as it pretty much negates any contrivance complaints, therefore making ScreenRant seem even more idiotic.
That’s the thing that’s amazing about that line. There is one scenerio where they win and not only does strange manipulate that to make it happen but also. That is the story we are following. We could be following the story of ones that lose but that doesn’t make for a good movie. That line basically tells us that there is bound to be a time when thanos loses, and we are watching f that one time. It’s clever
@@Cnut_the_grape Nat said something similar to that when she was eating a peanutbutter sandwich with Cap, Cap made a callback to that scene at the end of the movie.

Yep, and I actually tend to get any at people propagating that stupid "depression is always sad" myth. Its not. Many people with depression use humour to cope. And many of those also like to make people happy and laugh because they know how it is to bee so deeply depressed.
Thor definitely had the best character in those movies, he couldn't but help to. Letting himself go is one thing but the fat jokes at his expense is what seemed in bad taste. Using humour is one thing, insulting people is another. If I knew somebody who had depression, I would certainly accept whatever they were doing to cope (within reason). However, I wouldn't be making jokes about them.
@@mikearchibald744 not everyone would though. The film shows (very clearly, I thought) that the other characters were uncomfortable with how thor was acting, and didn't know how to treat him. In the time travel one, their premise isn't even correct. They use Doctor Who as an example, but there are tons of examples of characters meeting their past selves in Doctor Who.
Isn't there an entire thing based around all of the doctors doing calculations to save their home planets or something(Not really a DW watcher so I don't know the most about the show but i know some basics)
Dr Who is internally inconsistent. In a throw away line in Time Crash meant to be humorous he states that the paradox could rip the entire universe apart.
Characters also meet their past selves in Star Trek. Old Spock meets with young Spock in the Trek reboot. The series finale of Voyager is about old Janeway going back in time to change the past so Voyager gets home early.
The Second and Third Doctor shook hands near the end of "The Five Doctors" and Young Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart touched Older Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart in "Maudryn Undead" and caused "The Blinovitch Effect" and prevented The Fifth Doctor from giving up his "remaining selves." Screen Rant SHOULD do their homework before they criticize a film OR use a TV series about time travel as evidence of "sloppy writing."
They have probably seen that one "Fathers Day" episode where Rose touches baby Rose and suddenly paradox eating reapers appear. I see that episode metioned so often in discussions about Doctor who, especially when two doctors meet. I can totally see screenrant do an article about what doesnt make sense in Doctor who, and half of the entries being "Why didn´t the paradox reapers appear when..." Warning, rant mode has activated. They then question why there are no reapers when two Doctors touch each other. Then they cite the grandfather paradox for the original appearance of the reapers. Rose stops her father from being killed, which stops her from going to the day of his death, etc. What they fail to see is that the way worse paradox is that she saves her father after she just saw him die alone in front of her FUCKING TWO MINUTES AGO! Rose intruded on her own timeline of two minutes ago. Her later touching baby rose is a very tiny paradox that only strengthens the reapers enough that they can make it into the church they were hiding in. We have seen that it is possible to change the past of someone. At the end of the episode, Roses memories literally change (which would mean she wouldnt have a reason to go back and be at her fathers side while he died alone), and in a christmas special, the eleventh Doctor literally invades someones past to change their memories and make them a better person. He even brings a child version of them to meet their current self. No reapers, no time complications, nothing. The guy eleven is trying to change is like 90, so the universe has plenty of time to sort itself out between young adult guy and grumpy old guy. The same happens with rose. Between baby rose and her mother witnessing the event, and adult rose, the universe only has to change a few tiny bits. Her father has to die again, which is easy, as he is a squishy human, and roses mother has to tell child rose a slightly different story about her fathers death. The big paradox for the episode was the two different versions of the same event happening simultaneously only two minutes apart on their personal timelines. During his Timelord Victorious episode, Ten changes an important event, a fix point in human history, and it changes his memories of what he read on Timelord Wikipedia about the event. Him specifically knowing what will happen is why he couldnt interfere without breaking the rules. In the "Fathers Day" episode, they not only remember the alternate event, it was still in their short term memory. This is a disruption of their personal timelines first and foremost, with the "dont touch baby rose"-bit just as little extra, but many people still cant stop thinking you cant touch your previous selves. And Screenrant are just the kind of stupid people who might think that way.
@@Magimasterkarp The more realistic answer is probably that they wrote an episode early on that would be pretty limiting for episode ideas in the future so they just kinda forgot about it.
I think it’s clear that either Cap told Bucky his plans or it was so blindingly obvious he didn’t have to. They say he’ll be back in seconds. Everyone is expecting him to be back in seconds. What does Bucky say? I’ll miss you buddy then repeat their conversation when he was leaving to go to war? Either he was expecting him to be unsuccessful or he was expecting him to be gone a long time. His demeanor suggested to me he was happy for him. I’m pretty comfortable that all Steve had to say was “Peggy was right in the next room.” And Bucky would be like “Say no more!” Hell, at that point he might have talked Steve into it.
Two timelines I’d like to see are the Thanos-lite timeline where he disappeared in 2014. And the Cap returns timeline where he exposed Hydra in SHIELD as he helps Peggy Carter assemble it. I’m also hoping they explain the glaring inconsistency between the TV and movies after Infinity War. I’ll have to rewatch the end of last season but the big bad was preparing to fight Thanos and I think the New York battle was mentioned. Perhaps the New York thing could be retconned as the Defenders blowing up a skyscraper. I don’t know. If so, then this season would make sense in that context. The alternative would be that this season of SHIELD takes place in the Thanos-lite timeline. That way the New York attack never happened and the show can follow it’s own course. Runaways and Cloak & Dagger could go that way too. I hope not but given that both shows are about teens, having half the teenage cast age 5 years would probably be troublesome for the shows and people have enough difficulty handling all six original Avengers surviving the snap. I haven’t seen Far From Home yet so I’ll be interested in how they handled it there. Much of Peter’s close cohort seems to have been spared according to the trailers.
Yea. Watching a movie where first Cap goes and deliver the stones back then return to Peggy to live out their lives with Shield. Like co running a Hydra less Shield could be cool. Or how Endgame basically saves 2 universes by having Thanos die in our universe.
@@zemoxian Why would Agents of SHIELD need to be in a new timeline based on the events of season 5? It ends before the snap even happens. Season 6 I could see an argument for but season 5 is fine.
I assumed Bucky said "I'll miss you" because he didn't know how long it would take. Falcon even asked how long it would be for them. So the "I miss you" was targeted for Cap since for Cap it could've been 70 years for all Bucky would know before Cap sees him again. That or Bucky knows Cap well enough to know that Cap would decide to stay behind in the past at the last minute.

You don't say "I'm gonna miss you" to someone who's supposed to be back in just 5 seconds (according to Banner, that's how much time will pass in the present until he brings Steve back). And this isn't out of character for Steve. He didn't leave the present without a Captain America, he passed on the shield to Sam, making sure someone was there to take his place. Steve is a man out of his time, he wasn't supposed to be in the now. He never belonged in the now. His return to his own time was the most logical thing that could happen to a character who had come to the present when Thanos' actions regarding the Earth's part in his plan were set in place, and left when he helped thwart that plan. Also, maybe "a soul for a soul" means that you have to lose _your own soul_ by watching someone you love die. "We lost friends, we lost family, we lost a part of ourselves." Maybe that line had more significance to the story of Endgame than we thought.
12:22 I love how you mentioned galactus in your example of why no one would attack earth under the given circumstances. Galactus is actually the one being that would actually attack earth specifically in its weakened state, which we know because he attempted to do just that during the Last Days of Midgard before being stopped by old king Thor and his granddaughters. I just find it really funny because that actually supports screenrants case even though that story happens in an alternate timeline
@@dhararry7929 well think about it like this. Galactus is this all powerful being who had been able to consume every planet he’s come across with few exceptions. However, earth has been such a massive thorn in his side that he has been consistently warded off by earth’s superheroes. To the point where an earthling was able to make him his own herald. Him targeting earth was done because earth hurt his pride. In other words, just apply what captain marvel said in avengers endgame: “not every planet has what earth has”
The 'R' at the end of Heimdallr is actually the more accurate, or at least older, spelling of the Norse God's name. Marvel uses the anglicized version of the name, so Screen Rant is wrong to add the r when referencing the Marvel character, who to be fair has next to nothing to do with his namesake, but not wrong to use that spelling in general.
I'm still salty that you gave Screenrant a point for the original Avengers being left alive when that's wrong, since it happened in Infinity War and not Endgame. Things that don't make sense about the movie should be focused on things happening in the movie.
Why would Cap tell people about his plan to stay with Peggy when he literally says to Sam "No, I don't think I will." He doesn't want anyone to know when he just wants to have that as his one true secret.
@@Zechariah_Mathieson1871 but you’re still giving screen rant watch time, (and subscribers if you want to be notified when a new pitch meeting comes out)

Yep, and they were there, what, like, 10-20 minutes each? Definitely enough time to hear about it on the news, decide that it’s important enough to go help out, fly there, and find the Avengers to help them. I can only see the person who wrote that thinking of putting that in because they saw a moment where there was an Avenger not helping other Avengers, and didn’t at all think of the logic behind why they may not have been there
@@RoronoaZoro-ur6hr well you can't really count captain marvel to forgettable, it's come out this year. But thor 1 is forgettable too, same with iron man 2, ant man and ant man and the wasp.
Clint lost his family AFTER giving up the fight because of the accords. So he probably blames himself for everything because he didn't go with Cap into hiding.
You forgot: his wife's name is Laura. That name embodies victory and strength. Thor is strong and his lighting is blue, therefore Hawkeye should logically have a blue couch
Your theory would be correct except the scene were the couch is orange is before black widows death so orange would be fitting as orange represents sun light, sun light representing joy. Only after black widows death would the couch be changed to a black one as all sun light and joy had been removed from his life! ;)
Well actually he should have a purple couch. We all know Hawkeyes color scheme in the comics (and kind of in the movies too) is mostly purple, so to show that this is indeed HIS house, his couch and all other furniture really should be purple.
But actually his couch should be green because he and Tony had a bad relationship and Tony's armor is red. Green is opposite red on the color wheel, symbolising how he wants to be a different person than Tony. Only after the events of end game would the couch be changed to orange, because orange is closer to red than green, but still shows that Clint is his own person.
Screenrant truly is an embarrassment. But their pitch meetings are fun though! I'm pretty sure that series attracts the majority of their subscribers and views.
I wouldn’t have given the half point for #9. Sure, it’s a plot contrivance that the OG Avengers weren’t dusted, but it was a plot contrivance in Infinity War; you know, the one where the dusting actually happened.
On a long enough timeline (and sufficient battery power), something would have happened upon the button eventually. It's not like it happened the next day, or that it required the input of a complex equation for activation. If they said "ten years later," would it have made a difference? What about one hundred? Do the numbers even matter, or is it just the occurrence of the random event?
Which brings us back to the "Scott had a quantum tether" explanation. If you look at "Ant Man & The Wasp" again, something that Screen Rant obviously didn't do, the last third of the story explored the possibility that Janet Van Dyne was still alive in the Quantum Realm only because time operates differently there than in the "outside world," not because she was tethered to a transport device like Scott later was.
Actually I think the way they handled Thor was fine, yes it was played for laughs but it was meant to make you uncomfortable. Cuz Thor himself was using the humor to try and act like he’s okay but in reality he just kept bringing himself down. I think they meant him to be constantly shitting on himself. Like when Tony says he’s in no condition to use the new gauntlet, I don’t think he means his weight I think he means his mental state. At least that’s how I’ve always seen it. Like his whole point is that he wants to know he’s still worthy and that he can do something properly. Also the biggest problem with their “why wasn’t ant-man helping people” the man lives in SAN FRANCISCO and the original attacks were in New York on the other side of the country. By the time he got to New York the ship would’ve been gone. Plus my man’s was on HOUSE ARREST
I would assume that part of the reason you have to snap to engage all six stones is to avoid accidentally doing so when you don’t intend to. Snapping isn’t exactly something you do accidentally.
33:15 Actually there's a line when they mourn Natasha where they imply that they wanted to organize a proper funeral but they couldn't locate their family wich makes sence since the black widow movie trailer explains that they were in hiding.
That's actually ANOTHER plot hole BW says she doesn't know who her "real" family is ... whether they are hiding or not no one knows how would they know that????????????
@@kasjenkins4527 They CAN bring her back - they can literally take her before she dies - they could also use the gauntlet to just take the soul gem. BW being dead makes no sense
You need to dock another half-point at least. The half-point you gave them re all of the OG Avengers not getting dusted isn't a valid criticism of ENDGAME; it's, at a huge stretch, a "valid" criticism of INFINITY WAR, not ENDGAME.
I would agree if it was only the OG avengers that survived the Snap. but seeing as other than Thor and Iron man the others where just luck. I don't see it as a big critisism. We are talking about like. I think it ends up being a 1/16 chance. Much lower than the Ant-man odds. Although ant-man litteraly had the thing to bring him back right there. Although the Rat thing would be a good point against that.
Agreed that the half point was very generous; I'd argue that it isn't really a contrivance. Looking at it mathematically, having the 'original' Avengers survive and the newer ones vanish is no different than any other combination of survivors and dusted, the same way that 1 2 3 4 5 6 has exactly the same probability of winning the lottery as every other number combination. The only difference is that we put meaning to one set and not the other, but that human element of importance makes no difference in a random selection. My dictionary described a contrivance as something which imparts artificiality to a story, and this doesn't feel artificial to me, though I can see how it would to others, just as how I can imagine people thinking something was horribly amiss if those numbers ever did come out of the lottery
If I remember right, in the comic Infinity Gauntlet several of the active Avengers of the time were victims of the snap, which is why the group that confronted Thanos was made up of a hodgepodge group of Avengers (Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch), X-Men (Cyclops, Wolverine), solo heroes (Spider-Man, She-Hulk, Hulk) and villains (Doctor Doom), among others. The MCU lineup is nowhere near as huge, but then neither is their number of available characters. But then, the OG Avengers not being dusted makes sense from a meta perspective: Endgame is meant to be their final movie together. How insulting would it be for not all of them to be present because they got dusted?
@@JayExci Although i understand the problem with thor and hulk's arc, i hope marvel continues it. And to screencu*t, hulk is still out there. They are gonna continue his arc. Even thor's. Thor is with asgardians of the galaxy and has two movies coming out. They are handling the arc consistently enough as the characters are still there. But you can't disagree with me that marvel did something that game of thrones could not: give satisfying arcs to characters. Game of thrones kinda forgot, more like we had amnesia and never knew what happened.
"The Earth was weak" I'm willing to bet all of the other big baddies were dealing with this as well. SR makes no sense. Hell, Galactus or any other big baddy could've been dusted themselves. Also a Snap is the only hand motion you can do with one hand alone that causes a loud sound or vibration.
@@lacari0805 incorrect, his fingers must be at least partially closed for the gauntlet to work. he would have had to punch himself in the face instead.
28:12 I have a theory about the snap. Perhaps when Thanos closes his fist, he essentially closes a circuit of the gems' energy, allowing him to manipulate their power at will. However, using all the stones at once takes such a big toll that closing one's fist would keep the circuit active for far too long, resulting in way more self harm than the user intended. A quick snap would minimize the damage caused by the recoil from the gauntlet, potentially allowing the user to survive.
For #11, you didn’t even mention the facts that 1. Thanos almost died trying to destroy the stones, which definitely would’ve killed one of the Avengers, and 2, they needed to return the stones to their original timelines to keep their universe on track. Even without these 2 points the argument still stands. Screenrant really didn’t think this through lol
How to make a good criticism of a movie:
Step 1: Watch the movie
Step 2: Forget the movie and write a long article about how the movie sucks because of random reasons.

Q: "why did Thanos snap?"
A: because Thanos snapped to signify how effortless it was in the source material, and the snap became an iconic moment in marvel lore to the point where it would be somewhat insulting not to include it. Basically, fan service to those who were looking forward to a spiritual successor to one of Marvel's most iconic storylines.
Q: "why did the others snap?"
A: Thanos had a much greater understanding of the stones than anyone on the side of the avengers.

Thus, inferring his probable personal tastes, I believe that it would be unlikely that Hawkeye would have an orange couch instead of a black couch.
I believe that his wife would pick the couch, since she seems to be home far more often
@@extralongbaguette8880 interesting theory. However, it then begs the question why did the wife choose the couch? MCU theory Hawkeye has a super power and it's giving his wife colorblindness (or bad taste)

I am genuinely debating if the person who wrote this article didn't even watch Endgame; they just had the plot vaguely described to them by other people.
They skimmed through the Wikipedia article while on a coffee break
They watched those “Endgame spoilers without context” videos
Steve Jobs described it to them, my dad told me.
The person who wrote the article probably based it on the endgame movie pitch video.
There totally wasn't a scene where it is shown that this is the ONLY version of time where they win. Meaning everything in this version happened to allow them to win. INCLUDING THE RAT.
Maybe, but strange told them its one and the other ones as alternative plans
And theres a scene strange told it in infinity war
Maybe Strange saying there were 14,000,605 futures but they only win one is because the chances of the rat releasing Ant-Man from the Quantum Realm was 1 in 14,000,605.
@@jackal_9791 I think it was where thor kills thanos in infinity war
i have a theory about this. in doctor strange, the ancient one says that when she looks into her future with the time stone, she can never see past her own death. we can assume that these same rules apply to strange. so when strange uses the time stone to see into the future to figure out if they beat thanos, he wouldn't be able to definitively answer whether or not a scenario in which he dies would result in victory. meaning there could be 14 million other scenarios in which strange dies in the final battle or survives the snap and dies in some other way, but they still defeat thanos.
another theory i have is that what strange was actually referring to when he said there was just 1 is tony's sacrifice. in every scenario in which they win, tony snaps. this is supported by him saying "if i tell you what's going to happen, it won't happen" which is a somewhat niche line often used in stories with time travel or psychics/premonitions that is to foreshadow that character's death. i think tony was smart enough to infer what that line meant, which is why he knows exactly what he needs to do when strange signals him with a single finger up.

PSWii60 yeah when I watched the movie the second time I realised he definitely knew as well
When cap was old he said he put the stones back then decided to stay "well after I put the stones back I decided to get some of that life tony was telling me to get"
Which makes sense. Bucky is the only other character taken out of time for 70 years. He knew what he would do if he was given an opportunity to get a redo for that time, and assumed Cap would do the same thing.
Bucky also said "I'm going to miss you" before Cap left. You don't say that to someone who you know is going to come back in five seconds anyway.
I think Bucky definitely knew Cap wasn't coming back, I mean Bucky literally says "I'm gonna miss you" where as if he didn't know, that wouldn't really make much sense seeing as if he were returning, he'd be back in about 5 seconds, so, not much time to be missed.

@@TheKat12364 “Humour is a cooping mechanism.” Yes, I too tell jokes to chickens to get then into their coop.
JOKE!
"I do kind of agree going of sprees of killing is kind of an extream reaction to loosing your family and also half the world dying" I dunno, I've see a dude murder a lot of people over a dog . . . hell help Thanos if he snapped out his replacement dog.

Maria ER the difference is that when he worked for shield he did what he did under orders to help as many people as possible. In endgame he’s really just killing because his family died. Sure he’s killing “bad” people, but murdering 100 mafia members is still murder.
@@Aplesedjr Well, I have a huge bias against any military organisations so I don't look any more kindly on murdering under order than murdering for vigilantism.

I mean there are multiple specials where different Doctors team up
Dr Who is internally inconsistent.
"Dr Who dont let people interact with their past self"
Ah yes, that explains it. Screen Rant dont want Dr Who either
They have probably seen that one "Fathers Day" episode where Rose touches baby Rose and suddenly paradox eating reapers appear. I see that episode metioned so often in discussions about Doctor who, especially when two doctors meet.
I can totally see screenrant do an article about what doesnt make sense in Doctor who, and half of the entries being "Why didn´t the paradox reapers appear when..."
Warning, rant mode has activated.

Why would Agents of SHIELD need to be in a new timeline based on the events of season 5? It ends before the snap even happens. Season 6 I could see an argument for but season 5 is fine.
Yeah, I took the "I'll miss you" and such as confirmation that Bucky knew. He's Cap's oldest friend, Steve probably told him or he figured it out.
25:02 After Steve says "Don't do anything stupid until I get back" and Bucky replies "How can I? You're taking all the stupid with you", Bucky pauses and says *"I'm gonna miss you, buddy"* and Steve says "It's gonna be okay".
Bucky KNOWS.
Steve joined the army to fight in WW2, to fight his world's enemies, not our world's enemies. He did more than he was supposed to and has no reason not to go home.

Yep, and they were there, what, like, 10-20 minutes each? Definitely enough time to hear about it on the news, decide that it’s important enough to go help out, fly there, and find the Avengers to help them. I can only see the person who wrote that thinking of putting that in because they saw a moment where there was an Avenger not helping other Avengers, and didn’t at all think of the logic behind why they may not have been there
The storytelling about Thor actually gave me a little chill.

Hawkeye used to like black widow and what does black widow wear black so to remember her he would have the couch black.
Holy shit, you're right
You forgot: his wife's name is Laura.
When he started pointing out why Thor cut off Thanos' head I thought he would start rapping Lose yourself

I wouldn’t have given the half point for #9. Sure, it’s a plot contrivance that the OG Avengers weren’t dusted, but it was a plot contrivance in Infinity War; you know, the one where the dusting actually happened.
ScreenRant never watched the movie,
They just wrote the rant based on Chinese Knockoff leaks

On a long enough timeline (and sufficient battery power), something would have happened upon the button eventually. It's not like it happened the next day, or that it required the input of a complex equation for activation. If they said "ten years later," would it have made a difference? What about one hundred? Do the numbers even matter, or is it just the occurrence of the random event?
Which brings us back to the "Scott had a quantum tether" explanation. If you look at "Ant Man & The Wasp" again, something that Screen Rant obviously didn't do, the last third of the story explored the possibility that Janet Van Dyne was still alive in the Quantum Realm only because time operates differently there than in the "outside world," not because she was tethered to a transport device like Scott later was.
that's shitty lazy writing
@@DavidTSmith-jn5bs If the film can't stand on its own its shit.
@@batman-sr2px it did take five years for something to press that button

Snapping isn’t exactly something you do accidentally.
you people are just bonkers stupid
33:15 Actually there's a line when they mourn Natasha where they imply that they wanted to organize a proper funeral but they couldn't locate their family wich makes sence since the black widow movie trailer explains that they were in hiding.
Everyone forget the part where hulk says i tried to bring her back ?
That's actually ANOTHER plot hole BW says she doesn't know who her "real" family is ... whether they are hiding or not no one knows how would they know that????????????
@@kasjenkins4527 They CAN bring her back - they can literally take her before she dies - they could also use the gauntlet to just take the soul gem. BW being dead makes no sense
Well I think it's clear. Hawkeye's wife nagged him into buying the orange couch.
But why would she want it? She looks like more of a purple couch kinda person.
@@Sophie_the_Sapphic Well, she WAS Velma 😂

I thought i was the only one that has seen.
