It is a opportunity to ensure safety of Navigation is brought up to EU standard.
Many bulk carriers sink every year, as the crews are from developing countries there is no word in the Media about it. P& O end their service from Dublin to the UK this year, it is possible as the UK is no longer in the EU for security & safety reasons, travel between may cease. A closed loop between EU States could improve logistics and ensure the Single Market is protected.

From my contacts in the Irish Naval Service ( a finer bunch of people would be hard to find ) I would agree with everything in this video. A crying national shame , the way they are supported .
Usually all we see from the navy is them being a free ferry service for migrants into the EU. That's nothing to be proud of really. This operation would make you proud, actually defending Ireland and its waters, instead of hurting Ireland.
Time the Irish naval service was properly staffed & equiped. Perhaps they could approach the USN & receive a few of their soon to be retired LCS. That or join the UK T31 project for a light frigate.
I also read they didn't have enough helicopters. Ideally 2 would have been required to safely do this boarding action.
The EU Naval & Cost Guard will secure EU waters, also EU air space.

With European Air Space & Sea lanes closed to deny the country responsible for Genocide and Crimes against Humanity and countries that support Genocide and Crimes against Humanity.
