That's sad that all these cancelled games never see the light of day. Imagine having an avengers game, a justice league game, a flash and superman open world game? I would've played this over that Green Lantern game.
Joseph doubly sad (get it? Double Helix) that that GL game was made by the same folks who tried to make this and then later worked on the excellent Killer Instinct and Strider 2014. Gamers/DC fans like us getting all types of screwed here.
The only one I really miss is the Superman game. They had some really interesting ideas happening there. All the other ones had extremely little chance of being any good.
Yeah, like it a bit confusing how awesome this game looks and then it turned into that mediocre GL game...And honestly when you look at them side by side you cant even tell the similarities all that much. Its such a shame they never finished i wish we were able to get a hands of one the build of the game doe.
This game sounds like so much fun, sucks it never came out. I loved the Justice League game that was on ps2, and if it was anything like that, we truly missed out.
I mean, looking at the video, I can't say it looks all that fun. The gameplay itself looks like it would just be incredibly boring and the graphics are surprisingly meh for an Xbox 360 game given the likes of Halo Reach. If you want an example of the kind of gameplay I'd expect, look at The Incredible Hulk - Ultimate Destruction, it's available for Xbox, PS2 and GameCube, most people emulate the gamecube version but the Xbox version is considered the best.
Gamesfan34260 I've played incredible hulk and it's way worse than what we would've got in this. IH is just smash this smash that, garb something put it there, bring it here and rinse and repeat. And we don't even know what we would've got in thos jl game but I'll bet anything that it would've been better than IH

The "Hobbit laws" still affect NZ movie industry to this day, Lindsay Sterling did a great video about it!
They meant the only member that was active/shown in-game but wasn't playable. also, considering how much inspiration they took from JLU, the seventh would most likely have been Hawkgirl if anything.

Why not just do a digital release? It's so stupid how game companies just flush money down thew toilet because they don't wanna have to spend any at all to make it.
I was delighted to hear that a lot of the game survived into the Green Lantern game. I have that game on DS, actually, so hopefully it's a fun play. Shame the game didn't actually happen, sounds and looks very cool. Love the idea of battling two powerful villains at the end, some of the humour's good and great variety of locations and villains.
Hey koopalings. This is Liam here, the creator of this video. If you have any questions about the vid or suggestions for what I could cover next for Unseen64, let me know. Special thanks to Andrew Borman, who owns the prototypes shown here. You can check his stuff out here: ua-cam.com/users/ptoponline Enjoy the video!
A lot of good DC videogames canceled, so sad. We really need a good Flash open world videogame. The Flash has EVERYTHING to make a awesome game like the Batman Arkham series (as long as it isn't based of the Arrowverse or the DCEU Flash).
Did you know? All these Hollywood studios need to stop trying to push out a cinematic universe before any movies actually come out. They've tried so many times to make a Justice League movie and all have failed. It's a miracle we're even getting a Justice League movie next year. I hope it will be worth all the effort and wait
Isn't that what they're doing now? They established the universe with "Man of Steel," "Batman vs. Superman," "Wonder Woman," and "Suicide Squad" before launching the Justice League movie (which comes out this month, not next year). While only "Wonder Woman" stands up to the same quality as most of the MCU, at least they're trying to establish things first this time before trying the ensemble film.
Chillin' Like a Villain Killin' Krillin - That's only what you see on the DYKG channel. Check out Liam's channel for the full list. Lots of other neat stuff, like Dirty Harry, a Guitar Hero MMO, Project HAMMER, etc.
you know, when i see the Superman games that have been made so far, i can't help but wonder: is Superman too broken, power-wise, to yield a great game? i mean, Shadow of Apokolips was decent and is probably the best you can get from him so far (Superman Returns is also cut from that cloth, but it's too constrained by the cash-in tie-in formula), but i still think it would take a hefty engine to properly convey Supes' raw strength, for starters, such as context sensitivity for lifting or destroying objects or something. or preventing attack buttons from working when they are directed at harmless objects, complete with Superman commenting something like "i can't risk the innocents' safety", kind of like they had in PS1 Spider-Man (it would also prevent you from just flying off the map if it's an open-world game). anyway, i think it's not about Superman himself, but everything around him. it's like, how do you translate properly the strength of a guy who can push planets?
XD Yeah but the problem is they are not 3D third person action adventure games they are 3D side scrolling fighting games with all superheroes and heroes and villains and super villains in the DC universe I'm still waiting for a Justice league game like the Batman Arkham Games
This is so great I love this show but man it pisses me off seeing these amazing looking games and then finding that they're canned most likely forever.
If this came out today, you would have to pay money to upgrade your stats and one villain will come with a preorder bonus and the rest in the $99 special edition.
It's amazing all of this was made in just under a year. Stinks it was never given the time to get the polish it needed, let alone the ability to release the game.
I feel like we got a happy ending for once.Thier progress wasn't wasted, the game did eventually come out under a different name & minor changes, and everyone kept thier job!
this looks a lot like Justice League Heroes to me. DC really should give this idea another shot, that game wasn't bad, but this one i feel took some things that we had on JLH and improved on them, like being able to choose our characters at all times. even now i'm wishing some Warner studio would make like how Nintendo and Koei Tecmo did with Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 and make a visually striking, engrossing game with a veritable who's who of DC.
Man, what a shame this bombed, considering all of this progress was made from near scratch in a year or so, this game looks like it was gonna be one of the best movie-tie-in games, especially of its era.
This game looks soooo cool. I am so sad this never came out. =[ The story actually seems cool because it's not all about Darkseid or Braniac and my boy Mongul got some love.
Hi there, this was great to see. Believe it or not but I was the lead designer and design director of the justice league game shown in this video as well as the lead designer for the Green Lantern game it transformed into. The majority of the information in this video is correct however there are a few things that are incorrect or not mentioned that people may find interesting. For example, we actually did begin recording voiceover with professional actors and I have a couple pictures to prove it. I also had the privilege of casting and directing the voiceover sessions. I’m happy to tell you that I cast Lance Henrickson as cyborg superman and Michael Rosenbaum as the Flash. Meeting them in person and feeding them lines of dialogue that I had contributed writing efforts on was a dream come true and I will never forget those days in the recording studio. It’s been several years since I’ve seen footage of this game that we worked so passionately on and it brings a tear to my eye to see awesome videos like this. If anyone would care to know more about this game feel free to ping me as I’m happy to talk about it! Also please forgive any typos I blame voice to text. Thanks again for the great video!
Out of all the unreleased games featured on this channel, this one's potential return is the most feasible considering it's already a fully playable build.

Wow, what a fun little story the game could have had! It sounds like a comic book from the Silver Age, in a good way. And I am all about alternate costumes in my games. Kicking anyone's butt as Jay Garrick and Reverse Flash is one of my favorite pastimes in Injustice 2.
I actually really enjoyed the 'Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters' game. It wasn't a classic or anything, but I played all the way through on a rental and unlocked every achievement but one, if memory serves.
The common theme with almost all these canceled games I see on this channel is people in the comments going: "What the hell, I would've LOVED to play this game!" This happens almost every time, and maybe some of these publishers should take a chance for once. They had almost nothing to lose making this game because it shows so much promise and it's not like WB is lacking in money, they're worth billions upon billions of dollars and they would've gotten their money back and then some with this game if they only improved the animations and the graphics a little. Pisses me off how publishers are so scared to do anything without running it through a committee. Life isn't run through a committee, you take a goddamn leap of faith sometimes.
WOW they basically had a finished game that could of sold well by it self but decided to cancel it because of the movie, wow that's so sad, all that hard work.
We really need more dc games that aren't Batman centric, Why did Wonder Woman didn't get a game for her movie? Where is that Rockstar's Superman game? The games are usually cancelled due to lack of quality. It probably wouldn't be any fun to play
Joseph a green lantern game has so much potential tho
The only one I really miss is the Superman game. They had some really interesting ideas happening there.
All the other ones had extremely little chance of being any good.
The Green Lantern game they went on to make was actually pretty decent, which makes me all the sadder that this game never saw the light of day.
_You can purchase characters and upgrade your heroes' looks with exp points and in-game currency._
Ahh... The good ol' days....
Characters probably progressed in a really reasonable timeframe, weeeeird.
Man, this game looks almost finished. A shame they didnt finish it, looked awesome!

One of my favorite video series on UA-cam. Keep up the great work.
Thanks!
The plot sounded rad so I am not surprised it was McDuffie
he wrote the story for Justice League Heroes too, IIRC.
What a shame it sounded like it could have been a great game kind of like Marvel Ultimate Alliance but for DC
This game didn't look half bad. It could've probably have been something decent. But like alot of superhero games this one got canned.
Funnily enough WB couldn't bully the government of Australia for the JL film, but they did manage to bully the government of New Zealand for the Hobbit movies into banning the formation of unions by actors (among other things).
The "Hobbit laws" still affect NZ movie industry to this day, Lindsay Sterling did a great video about it!
"The only active member not available was Martian Manhunter" ummmm Aquaman?!?
Aquaman isn't an active member of the League in this game.
They meant the only member that was active/shown in-game but wasn't playable.
also, considering how much inspiration they took from JLU, the seventh would most likely have been Hawkgirl if anything.
I was also confused by that line.
Because the line was 'the only active member of the group that wasn't playable', the context is the group, which aquaman wasn't part of in the game, and the focus is on 'playable', not availability.

Aquama was in the Miller movie and half fish due to blue skin and gills.

A lot of good DC videogames canceled, so sad.
We really need a good Flash open world videogame. The Flash has EVERYTHING to make a awesome game like the Batman Arkham series (as long as it isn't based of the Arrowverse or the DCEU Flash).

Superhero games are very difficult to nail.
I hope that DC is ramping their single player AAA game portfolio as Marvel seemingly is.
