Can you guys make a Video about Def Jam Vendetta and Def Jam Fight For NYC please Thanks and also Marvel Vs Capcom 3
"Interestingly, the glitch still works in the All-Stars version of the game"
*Mario dies*
The glitch was the vine, not the 1-up trick. But it's an interesting interaction nonetheless.
There's always been something charming about glitches. They give the game its own unique flavour along with the regular, intended content.
Some of my fondest childhood memories were trying to do OoT Gold Cart glitches on my standard grey one, and later, Master Quest. Trying to get the black gauntlets I saw in a video with that Dreamscape song playing. Moving on to Sonic, and glitching out of the neutral Chao garden by homing jumping in a corner, duplicating Luigi’s hat in SM64DS, LOOKING for Luigi in the original, looking for Waluigi in the DS version (I’m sure we all remember that fake photo that looked like it came out of GameInformer), and my elation at finally pulling off the infinite sword glitch, and later, BLJing at my babysitters and wowing everyone by bypassing the endless stairs. The memories are bittersweet, as I know things will never feel that way (I mean, I was five when i first played OoT, and to me and my overactive imagination, things “looked” better than those Unity remake demos) again. Having only a dial-up connection helping me from those OoT glitches all the way through glitching out of bounds in Whiterun to get to Eorlund’s shop chest, finally getting high-speed when I was around 14 almost ruined a lot of the magic, as I mainly relied on slowly-loading GameFAQs cheats section under whatever game I was playing. Kirby still has the best Zelda guides out there, I reread bits once in a while for nostalgia, my mom printing his whole TP guide out for me, but I digress. This comment is much too long and bloated with many unnecessary details, sorry for that, but thank you very much for sparking all these memories that have been shelved for years. Cheers!
this is a comment to boost the video in the algorithm
When will we see more glitch videos?
I'll help.... there you go 🙃
This is a response to boost the video in the algorithm.
Ugh... Algorithm.
Don't let computer tell you otherwise, the fans personal opinion matters.
This is a reply to said comment to start engagement
Brings me back to my childhood watching A+, Scykoh, etc
Scykoh's old glitch videos were top notch. I love that guy's sense of humor.
I used to watch a lot of A+ start and scykoh, they were my introduction to learning about complicated glitches, so nostalgic
As someone not in the speedrunning community, it's just absolutely mindblowing to me that people manage to even find some of this stuff, especially the incredibly specific ones like the Zelda one with the save slot names and the ghosts.
TAS where they exploit glitches to reprogram games in old Pokemon games are interesting.
I am not a speedrunner but love learning about them. I love learning about the glitches found by casuals that years old speedrunners never did. (Like the MGS door clip in the stairwell)
That Mario 64 upwards warp is highly suspected to be a stray bit flip in the console, caused by a cosmic ray, as a near replica of the event has been done in an emulator by flipping just one bit. This can't be proven, but it's the current best theory.
To add to this. If this is true, this is a one in a billion chance and cannot be replicated.
Of cosmic radiation can affect each game, does that mean every copy is personalized? 🤔
the is common knowledge at this point.
@@xehP I figured it was, which is why I was surprised that tidbit of information was not included in the video
@@bartat404 this is DYKG clips, if I remember correctly the original video is almost 7 years old, and that theory wasn't as commonly accepted at that time, as it was fairly recent. you know it's an old video because panenkoek's 1k bounty isn't even active anymore. lol
I love when glitches and bugs end up part of a speed run route.
Or when Bugs become actual features
I really enjoy the explanations behind the glitches. Could’ve just said that it happens and leave it at that, but getting an explanation is appreciated
I actually learned something new about Sonic's vertical level wrapping. I already knew almost every glitch in Sonic's section, so that was a lovely surprise.
A warning for that strobe light would have been nice.
You gonna cry?
You would be surprised about some of the newer glitches found on Sonic 06. One of my personal favorites was one of them for Silver that was found during an actual speedrun marathon I think in 2021. Basically it was during one of ESA's many marathons and actually lowered the speedrun for that story by a decent amount.
Do you know which runner, so I can search it up a bit easier? Would like to see that run! 😮
@@NullScar Look up ESA Summer 2021 Sonic 06 on UA-cam to find it. Don't know if you would call it a glitch or not but around 21 mins in is when it's found. Trust me when you see it you'll get what I mean by saying if you want to call it a glitch or not. It's worth watching though if you're a fan of the game though. The what just happened is basically something that the entire speedrun community for the game didn't know about.
@@mageius Thank you, I will do so. I used to play sonic 1 in the old days, not a fan, but I loved the music and some of the gameplay. But I love anomalies in games no matter what. 🫠
M&M pfp
The warped Mario 64 face in the thumbnail never fails to crack me up 😂
Did you know? Pannenkoek is a Dutch word and means pancake in English. He pronounced it pretty well btw 👍
genuinely didnt know you all had a second channel. loved the video, looks a have a backlog to watch!
they're just repeats of the videos from their original DYKG, good for binging their vids though.
I found myself a soft lock glitch back when TP was new. When you first find the sky cannon with the researcher dude, saving in that room and restarting results in the guy becoming invisible and impossible to interact with, but he's still there. This makes it impossible to progress because Midna won't let you warp the cannon with him "watching", and you can't tell him to bugger off like you're supposed to.
Wound up having to send my disc to Nintendo and they replaced it with one that contained a patch. It was honestly pretty cool of them and I had the replacement disc within a week.
I really missed A+Start he used to make so many great vids
He just streamed 4 days ago what
He still does videos, just not as many I guess. The same can be said with finding new glitches.
He's still going. I'm not subbed but I still check every once in a while.
What a classic response for those that stop watching a creator themselves. Not the creator stopping their uploads.
@@906iphone Tastes change too 🤷
Literally as I close the door to my car to start my work commute
Man I remember watching these videos for hours during the summer. I love the archival work you all do
I still remember all the glitches I found accidentally in my Intellivision port of Popeye.
9:02 it's great seeing the game grumps being used as an example of sonic bugs
23:43 you guys should update text like this
Can't believe I didn't know about this channel until now! Excited for more videos :)
7:50 OH GOD One of my teenager era drawings is there.
AHAHAHAHAHA
57:27 I know you started doing hour long compilations to fall asleep to, but you ended this one on one that would keep anyone up
gotta love glitch videos...
Part1: Heres a minor glitch in this game.
Part2: Heres a somewha major glitch in that game
Part3 (50% of the episode usually): Heres sonic.
Even as a kid when i was usually oblivious to such things i hated playing sonic games because they felt so buggy lol. I remember dying in the forest escape in adv2 because sonic kept dashing to the left instead of launching off a ramp.
Perhaps you should have updated the epilepsy warning at 23:46, seems like a bad thing to overlook
I remember finding a glitch in Portal years ago in the test chamber where you get the orange portal gun. I found out I could get behind the energy pellet catcher just by firing a portal at it and it would go through it into a small box I could walk around in.
I'll be curious to see how Nintendo handles glitches in Tears of the Kingdom. Do they feel obligated to leave the physics bugs in? Or is the challenge of finding new glitches part of the fun?
DYKG has done a video where someone on the Zelda team was quoted as saying that they should “leave in the fun ones” on BOTW so it makes sense it would be the same for TOTK
Welp the results are in, the physics engine is so tight that glitches with it are nearly nonexistent outside of a few specific cases currently. Also they patched out all the fun glitches. :(
@@CommanderWiggins there are already new glitches after the patch, just haven’t discovered super convenient ways like they were on 1.0 1.1 and 1.1.1. Honestly the physics doesn’t seem to have much to do with it for a lot of the duping etc type glitches. But all those versions had a bunch of super accessible glitches that I’m currently still using, I turned off automatic system updates at 1.1 lol.
I managed to do the test level glitch with Eggman and had no idea how till now and tbh it scared the hell out of me lmao
There are some glitches that are quite easy to find and most players experienced them, but there are lots of them that make me think, what were they doing to find such glitches?
Its always great to know glitches especially when you are attempting to speedrunning games or just want to have fun
Ngl seeing Sonic intimidate the truck is pretty hilarious
12:57 this being an hour long compilation makes this line even better
its crazy some of the stuff people find in games. especially a lot of these older things that were found decades ago at this point
Honestly some games just wouldn't be the same without glitches, I used to have so much fun just messing around with the glitches in Pokemon Red.
Lots of cool information in this video! Thanks for all the research involved.
It's always good to hear A+Start on a video
Another glitch from the original Link's Awakening takes you to a glitched world. To do it you jump into the pit in the first Boss room which usually takes you to a sidescrolling pit. If you mash the jump button you can exit through the top of the screen to access the glitch world. I always jumped into the top right corner to do it. I never see anyone online talking about it though.
I love hearing about speedrunning glitches!!!
I love the content that you make! Keep it up!
I've always been interested in glitches just based on how much they can reveal about how the games they're in were programmed. My favorite on an old game is probably that memory exceeded, game destroyer in I think... Donkey Kong Country 2?
Love the SMW glitch items, ACE is one of my favorite kinds of video game glitch
Kinda funny that almost half the video is Sonic glitches~ Great collection, and good to see another channel dedicated to archiving it all!
It's amazing what glitches communities can find.
our obsession with glitches has always been so fascinating to me. No other medium allows us to manipulate it in a way that the creator didn't intend in such a granular way. glitch hunting is a very interesting phenomenon.
23:43 I love you guys, been watching for 8+ years. But I think you are being very irresponsible leaving this clip unedited. I understand there is a brief visual warning on screen.
But as you’re stated in the past, these compilations are often used by people while studying or going to bed, meaning they are very likely not giving the video their full attention and may be unable to read the disclaimer.
I think a blur is justified. I mean, some of this info is outdated as is, so I don’t think blurring this seizure-inducing effect would ruin the integrity of the video.
This takes me back to discovering a glitch in Tony Hawk's Underground that won me an award on the Nintendo Power forums.
You had to be playing with the easier physics mode on. It made it so you could grind out of an airborne trick without bailing. I had found that if you had slow motion special tricks enabled and landed one into a grind, the game would stay in slow motion until you bailed a trick. Infinite focus mode! Good times.
Fun fact: Wechnia and Ashura actually inspired characters in the Sonic comics. Wechnia became Dr Finevitus in the Archie Comics run, and Ashura became the basis for both Scourge the Hedgehog (Archie) and now Surge the Tenrec from the IDW comics.
A+Start, DYKG and opening footage from... Cinemassacre.
21:46 sonic's breakdancing skills are so cool they even defy the laws of physics
Great content, I miss A+ videos a lot!
4:40 The “glitch” was a cosmic bit flip (cosmic particle interfering by changing one bit to another in the chip) and changed Mario’s position by one value.
I just exited the shower and looked at my phone right when the sonic strobe lights happened
That shook me
Glitches have truly made for some of the most memorable experiences in gaming history!! Sometimes accidents are fun!
55:50
Wow space station silicon Valley?
I played the shot outta that back in the day. Bet it gave at least a bit of inspiration for Cappy in Mario Odyssey. Wish this got a sequel. Another Game I wish got a sequel from N64 is actually Body Harvest. Tried challenging myself by actually helping the aliens eat Humans to spawn a Mutant and tried beating the Game afterwards.
Love falling asleep to these!
I love Luigi's mansion and will definitely try the quick complete hack when I next play 😊
One glitch that I wont forget is the one that happen to me in the battle vs the 1000 heartless in Kingdom Hearts 2, I literally beat the 1,000 heartless but the counter marked 999.
Didn't realise there were so many sonic glitches lord
You guys really need to do another video about Ocarina of Time glitches
Soooooo many new things have been discovered since that original video it's insane...
I remember when I first saw someone do the Stasis launch glitch. That blew my mind
I love how the bottle warp glitch in Ocarina has been used to beat the game in the Melee demo before the timer kicks you off. Whoever optimized that was a genius
My favourite fascinating glitch at the moment is The Freezer from Saints Row 2. It's a glitch that has all the makings of a creepypasta, and will permenantly corrupt your disc so you can't play it any more. Would love to see it explored in a future video!
For the algorithm! I love this channel! People should see more of this!
I never get tired of glitch vids.
Glitches are great to sleep to!
I hope you guys have A+ Start on as a guest again. His videos really got me into the glitch hunting and speedrunning communities!
Ah, Sonic fanfiction. The most pornographic rabbit hole you'll ever go down on the internet.
I got the sa2 key glitch on cosmic wall and was amazed
I love how many speed runners keep evolving to find and utilize these glitches nowadays, I’ve practiced my fair share of games with or without glitches, but I can never speedrun them because of time constraints, either way I support players that passionately play their favorite games in all of their regions. Cheers!
I love glitch vids...thanks guys
33:30 I used to watch RanguGamer back in the day, and I actually watched this exact video. At first I missed the footage credit for this segment, but when I thought about the wii UI being in spanish I thought "could it be?" And it was!
4:47 from what I remember reading the glitch jump was done by a what I think was a solar flare flipping a 0 and one in the binary code
Yep
I'm here for the some glitch and some switch!
The Knuckles Jump is back in Sonic Frontiers, please I hope to god that it doesn't get patched, Boom Knuckles must LIVE ON.
You son of *Glitch-!!* What the *Glitch* you're doing to me? Aaah I'm falling upside down by this *Glitch*. Please save me, *Glitch* ing save meeee!!
That glitch in Pikmin where the ship part goes out of bounds is still in the game when they ported it over to switch 😂😂 I had to restart twice while getting that
I'm looking forward to getting into this. I know UFC fighter do the shin hardening so I'm quite interested
"to explain the white echidna's existence, we need to look back to knuckles chaotix's prototype on the genesis: sonic crackers"
(oh my god that probably wasn't intentional but i can't be the only one who laughed)
Now this is one hell of a glitch vid
36:04 Link survived for 100 years and woke up only to die. Lmao
Everyone: Ashley is useless
Ashley: *Supple an enemy*
I love it when developers turn a glitch or exploit into a feature. Like the infinite life exploit in the super Mario brothers.
Ok, I knew about almost everything except the best of 3 multiplayer thing in SA2. I knew I could go to the test stage, but not that. I'm gonna go play city escape as Shadow and radical highway as Sonic
Sonic ‘06 would need its own full length film to detail all of its bugs… and you know what? I still love the game. I especially love that fan project that is remaking the entire game from the ground up with hardly any bugs, better graphics and shaders, better gameplay mechanics, and new mechanics,
I think this video's title ought to be "One Hour of Video Game FEATURES."
I hope they make an update of this video with zelda TOK lmao
Actually honestly they should just make a video featuring the most insane physics breaking machines
Ok, I knew about almost everything except the best of 3 multiplayer thing in SA2. I'm gonna go play city escape as Shadow and radical highway as Sonic
Those dates on the sonic bug reports are a day before I was born 🤣
🔵 Programming a game in Unreal
🔵 Programming a game in Unity
🔵 Programming a game in C++
🔘 Programming a game in Mario World
6:54 thats crazy, people would be MAD if that was in a game released in more recent times
Gotta love the glitches in both old school games because of hardware limitations as well as the new games because of rushing to release or lack of full playtesting. Where are my GameGrumps Sonic Boom fans at? Introduced me to so many insane glitches in a modern game
Came for the OLED giveaway, stayed for the quality content
*47:59* Bloodborne Daisy makes me feel surprisingly uncomfortable.
_As you once did for vacuous Daisy: Grant us eyes! Grant us eyes!_
I genuinely find myself almost envious of people who have a knack for finding glitches in games. I wish I had that ability. I knew this guy that played mickey speedway usa with me who was able to discover all kinds of exploits in that game all on his own. He of course would use them to destroy me in it.
I really miss A+Start. I hope they’re doing well. If they’re still out there, even if it isn’t video game related, someone let me know! I know last I heard, they were spinning a lot of plates.
44:25 that glitch was very much still in the dx version on the gameboy colour. It was parched out in the re-release on the Nintendo 3ds eshop version.
me when a rouge particle from the sun flipped a bit on the nintendo 64 causing a once in a lifetime glitch that has yet to be and most likely never will be replicated
4:10(ish) - i dont know if its been done in a "single run" yet, but as far as ive heard, the A-Button Challenge ("ABC") has been knocked down to a mere SIXTEEN A-presses...at least, according to Bismuth's latest Series-Part documenting the challenge...
Last month ABC got lowered to 15 A presses.
@@sintanan469 yeah, and, Bismuth hasnt covered that recently yet :-P
@@rtyuik7 Just giving you an update on it since the latest A press removal happened while Bismuth was filming his latest part of the ABC.
Woo-hoo a new facts video to download for the road!
