Hey Datto, I noticed you put a disclaimer during the Hawksaw section, so I thought I would share the roll on one I got from the crucible that has just been melting people. I bought the vendor one to compare and it's night and day between the two. SPO-28 for the TA, Perfect Balance, Headseeker, and Rifled Barrel. The extra range takes care of the already subtle damage drop off, and aiming for the neck on the first shot allows for a lighting fast 3 burst kill. Thank you for all work you put into this channel!
Got this yesterday (before I saw this), and instantly won my next control match with highest overall score - it was so fun to use. Glad it's got your stamp of approval!
Datto if you took a look at the perks on the vender hawksaw you would notice appended mag and smallbore. So appended mag increases your mag size for a cost of reload and smallbore increases range and stability (the two most important stats) for a cost of mag size. So you end up with an extra burst in the mag, more stability, more range, for the cost of having a slower reload. And the Hawksaw already has a great base reload speed.
I love side arms in PvP, I can't tell you how many times I've run out of ammo in my primary and had to chase after the enemy so I just take out my side arm and hipfire them from ground or air. They have amazing hipfire accuracy even while airborn. Or another favorite is sliding in while hipfiring.. Works wonders.
Something to note with The Vertigo, with year one heavy ammo boots, you only get 1 extra rocket in PvP. If you have year two rocket ammo boots, you don't get any additional rockets at all in PvP.
+Kyle Batschkun he was asking why everyone's saying it not what it means dumbass. And no, the only weapon that I know of that was overpowered for a little bit was the gjallahorn, which is fixed now
My brother wanted a good pulse rifle so I told him the hawksaw was his best bet. He isn't an above average player in crucible but I was watching the kill feed rack up with doubles and triples the entire game. It is seriously a great weapon, and he highly recommends it.
Here my favorite and best legendary weapons so far in TTK. 1) Red Spectre with crowd control, hidden hand and rifled barrel (+ range - reload speed) 2) The Vertigo with cluster bombs flared magwell and javelin 3) Nightfall quest reward fusion rifle Long Far Gone with surronded (pve) , eye of the storm (pvp) and quickdraw. 4) Byronic hero with outlaw and grenadier. 5) Raid heavy machine gun with crowd control.
My first legendary engram in TTK turned into a 1000 Yard Stare with shortgaze/ambush, last resort, hand laid stock [ no snapshot :( ], then hidden hand. Sniping is what i do and i do it well, the game blessed me within the first hour of TTK with that gun, I may have actually found a replacement for my ldr.
yup, impact and RoF are identical to dry rot. the vendor one is perfect. it has full auto and the option to choose between Rifled Barrel and Reinforced Barrel, which both boost range. It has Aggressive Ballistics too
I actually like my Hung Jury more than my raid scout rifle... such a great gun. And it was the first thing dead orbit gave me the day TTK came out and I leveled up my faction. Beast
PaleoContact auto rifle from Dead Orbit is amazing! 38 round mag, awesome scopes, rangefinder, third eye, and some perks that further range or stability. It is a great long range auto rifle! Havn't tried it in PvP (I use Hard Light) but in PvE its amazing
+K BISH I picked it up the other day, is REALLY good in my opinion, not sure how it compares to The Next Big Thing (didn't even consider it cos of the horrendously loud paint job). I love pairing it with Melting Point on my sunbreaker, getting a melee in then just emptying my mag into the major enemy, pretty much nothing survives.
+K BISH I think 4 of the 6 New Monarchy weapons are worth consideration of purchase. The sidearm may be be the best vendor sidearm; the perks are outstanding, including Reactive Reload, which gives the biggest damage buff of weapon perks. The sniper rifle has very good PvP perks. The shotgun looks like a great PvE shotgun. And the LMG is of course very strong for a vendor weapon, although I personally don't need it after hitting the lottery on a RNG Ruin Wake (Smart Drift Control, Counterbalance, Reinforced Barrel, and Crowd Control). The hand cannon looks terrible. The auto rifle looks OK thanks to having a range perk but is probably not the best available option.
Personally, I love the vendor Dealbreaker. It's got serious punch, and I find that it fires slowly enough that it's easy to keep on target (even at longer ranges than you'd expect) without the stability perk, which costs you more than 20% of your magazine.
I totally agree with you about the Hung Jury. To be honest it's the only weapon in TTK that I've bought from the vendors. I've had Last Extremity and Not Like The Rest drop for me several times with decent perks, but the HJ trumps them both. I've dismantled quite a few 1000 Yard Stares because of the crummy rolls they had. I managed to have one drop a few days ago with Hidden Hand and Unflinching and that's the one I'll be keeping. Rocket launchers have been a little underwhelming for me. I did manage to snag a Choleric Dragon with a maxed out blast radius and several good perks (Grenades and Horseshoes, Javelin and Tripod). I use it on my Titan with the Taikonaut helm equipped for the Tracking bonus. Of all the factions New Monarchy has been the only disappointment. I tell everyone at work who plays Destiny to concentrate on DO and FWC for the time being since their wares are by and large the best in the game.
There is another "new" fate bringer called Imago loop that you can get from the vanguard heroic strike but the only strike it can drop from is the undying mind but because of no more reforging you have to keep on doing the strike until you get the right perks ( firefly and danger close).
I got 2 dealbreakers. First with Crowd Control + Feeding Frenzy + Smallbore (very good boost to stability and range, a small penalty to reload speed and magazine (23 bullets, instead of 26)) and second one with Focused Fire + Army of One + Braced Frame\Hand Loaded\High-Caliber Rounds Vanity is only weapon I bought from vendor, its mag is 9 with extended mag bonus
Interesting little fact about Havoc Pigeon: It has a slower RoF compared to other sidearms like the NM Conviction II. I haven't done enough testing to tell if Conviction II is just a really fast-firing sidearm compared to the others, but it's a very noticeable difference in speed. It's even weirder that all of the sidearms have maxed out RoF, but I can guarantee you that is NOT the case.
i have a 1000 yard stare with triple tap and improved target acquisition, it goes evenly with my hereafter in pvp, one of the best snipers in this game by far.
With the vendor Hung Jury you can slap extended mag and bring it to 20 shots, and because of Triple tap if every shot is precision, like if you're fighting a boss it goes to 30ish. The only problem is if there's a light source on your left the gun becomes a flash light and blinds you.
New Monarchy shotgun The Burden of Proof is amazing....now looking at the perks on the vendor weapon I see why it wouldn't make the cut. But if you get this as a drop with nice perks it's a top tier shotgun (crowd control, flared mag., and final round ) was the drop I was lucky enough to get
for PvP, a great alternative to Conspiracy Theory-D, depending on playstyle, is the New Monarchy shotty. I have with Close and/or Personal, with arms that increase melee speed, AND fast twitch on my hunter. it's a rushing BEAST!!!! Bonus if you can get a range boosting perk too (I only got one in the 1st tier row... but ive seen some that match CT-D's range too)
I can right now say that Righteus VII is an absolute beast, and I've gone on a 20 kill streak using only this gun, with the help of grenades and stuff... The gun is my go-to weapon when I need my team to catch up! :)
I had the great luck of rolling a Villainy with Fitted stock and Spray and play. With a Pulse Riffle Loader on my raid chest piece, this Pulse is lightning quick and keeps its precision at longer range. It's comparable to the Allfate IMO (which use to be my favorite ;-)
Wish you had mentioned the shotgun from new monarchy - it's the dry rot from last expansion, comes with full auto, though it does have one fewer shot in the magazine. It mows through majors, even minotaurs with their void shields :) Definitely my go to shotgun for pve, though I'd never bring it to the raid lol.
the hawksaw kicks some serious ass in pvp. if you have some stability perks it's a three burst headshot kill. the rate of fire is pretty quick too. but the stability is where it excels
Thanks for the video buddy. That Hung Jury is great. Your opinions on the raid weapons would be welcomed by me in a separate vid if you felt like it. :)
You probably missed the Not Like The Others Scout from the Vanguard. It comes with both Reactive Reload and Crowd Control, so only your very first couple of shots will be doing standard damage, any other shots will be getting a boost. It has lackluster stability and you are almost forced to use Feather Mag to take advantage of the main perk, but it is a seriously brilliant Scout Rifle. Not sure if it can outright compete with the Hung Jury in PVE, but it demolishes it in PVP.
Hey Datto, I heard on the Destiny subreddit that The Vanity's firefly perk was causing players games to crash. Have you heard/seen anything to confirm this?
so apparently you can get "will of light" perk on non raid weapons. thought it was exclusive to raid weapons. got it on my "does not bow" and its pretty awesome!
Villainy? But it's just a regular pulse rifle without serious advantages :) I have one with a bit different perks and i can say that in PvP it loses to "Red Death" just because it deals less damage that can leave your opponent alive with a tiny amount of health, but you will be dead. So if you want to spend your marks for a pulse rifle just buy "Red Death" from blueprints, or just wait when gunsmith will offer you "Lyudmila-D" on the date of armsday. P.S.: Datto, and what about Apple of Discord from vendor: it has headseeker, full auto and hand laid stock. Offcourse the first version that can be obtained from Zavala not works in PvP, but hand laid stock can probably fix a recoil.
pretty much everything works wonders with this :D i so abuse it to just tether a large group of thralls and then just slice one of them with my sword :D
This is basically everything great about the Vision of Confluence, but now add firefly on top of it" Did you forget it's capacity for a 30 round clip, 3 more than VoC's, 10 of those being free bullets? Did you forget its better base range, stability, and reload? Did you forget its better optics? Did you forget it's faster equip speed? I think it's safe to say this is a pretty good weapon for pve
I think the true Fatebringer 2.0 is Imago Loop from the Undying Mind strike. Same model, same stats, just different color. It can get firefly and exploding rounds also.
I got the Last extremity I think it's called with triple tap and firefly and I really like it. It only has 12 bullets but has the same impact and rate of fire as Jade Rabbit and I think the other higher impact scout rifles. It definitely does hit like a truck crush raid enemies
+IamWinkly I have it and can confirm that this is true. Plus here are bunch of others from reddit with same problem...www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/3lvpyi/sga_do_not_use_the_firefly_perk_on_the_future_war/
Datto the Imago Loop hand cannon from the Undying Mind found as a legendary drop is nearly the exact same weapon as Fatebringer except Imago doesn't have elemental damage, it's more similar to the Fate bringer than that FWC one
want a great raid set up? use bad juju, and 1000 yard stare. bad juju mows down all tier 1 adds easily (especially those that clone themselves) while increasing your super. the stare is great for majors and you will have your new OP subclass super (subreakers you know what I mean) to wreck everything else. use whatever heavy you want, it doesn't matter you're already a beast now. if you want god mode run this all with a sunbreaker titan with ruin wings. the wreckage is hilarious and scary powerful. RIP Oryx and all who served him.
I'm still really surprised there's so little talk of firefly being pretty heavily nerfed in 2.0. Firefly is still decent for staggering a bunch of enemies, but it is no longer capable of outright killing any enemies, even thralls. The days of firing 1 shot and firefly taking out 8 thralls or acolytes at once are gone.
I have a Down and Doubt with almost the same perks as The Vanity and its excellent (I have Zen Moment instead of Luck in the Chamber). Have more bullets in the chamber and got that leveling up Vanguard. The best Fatebringer-like vendor weapon I own.
Did anyone know that there was secret hidden patrol mission that you would get from doing a certain amount of [patrols and being in patrol for a certain amount of time. I found out about this and it got me thinking. This secret was out before the actual ttk content was out just like how the swords of crota were out before dark below came. At first we thought these swords were just cool little bosses but they turned out to play a substantial roll in getting necrochasim. Allowing us to receive the husk. Maybe these patrol missions play a role in getting the sleeper stimulant or the no time to explain maybe we are looking at it in the wrong way. Maybe doing one of these missions on all the planets will decipher the code in the message you get from doing these missions bringing back the banshees memory allowing us to see how to retrieve these weapons. Maybe the messages were left by banshee so he could remember after he go wiped. I guess well just have to wait and see. PS. If u are intested in these mission search up secret patrol missions in destiny and they should come up
FINALLY, someone acknowledges the overpowered hung jury sr4. I've been using that shit since like day two of the taken king. Best vendor weapon hands down
Only thing I bought was the FWC rocket launcher The Vertigo. I got the rest I needed as drops with similar rolls/better rolls. The Last Extremity I got is almost exactly like the Dead Orbit roll for the Hung Jury.
You failed to mention both the appellant II new monarchy hand cannon, and the Not Like The Others vanguard scout rifle. The appellant has a very good RoF/impact, good stability, and fantastic reload speed. The only problem is its range, which is why it has a perk that boosts it when your health is low, and it has life support to get your health back up to normal. The Not Like The Others is hands down the best pvp and pve scout rifle I have ever seen. It has reactive reload, crowd control, and explosive rounds. In crucible if you find yourself with both bonuses active, it will 2 shot people. In pve you will have a damage bonus basically all the time.
got an amazing hitchhiker from a dead orbit package with danger close, accelerated coils and rangefinder and hits like a beast but I'm preferring the susanoo more cause of the burn changes
Hey Datto about the sidearms. I use the vanguard one because I got zen moment and outlaw, as well as a perk that kicks the magazine size up to 18. I forget what it is called. However, if I didn't have such a good roll I doubt I would ever use sidearms
episode sum up YOU NEED RANK 3 DEAD ORBIT
+Technolocic Yup, but who doesn't at this point in the game if you got it when it first released.
+Technolocic This comment made me laugh
+Technolocic You misspelled FWC.
Cole Mitchell thanks
Katoma Mundara lol

Thank you for a consistent quality you are by far the best.
This is where it started
I got a Suros Dis-43 scout with perfect balance, counter balance and speed reload. Things awesome.
yeah, apparently armsday weapons will have the same perk rolls on it for everybody who bought the gun
Datto if you took a look at the perks on the vender hawksaw you would notice appended mag and smallbore. So appended mag increases your mag size for a cost of reload and smallbore increases range and stability (the two most important stats) for a cost of mag size. True words spoken

uhhhh... Burden of Proof??? OP Shotgun for pve
its from New monarchy
Yeah I was wondering where it was. That shotgun is a monster, it's the new Dry Rot.
burden of proof is a pve beast. fully agree
+EpicGuille ya "OP" means Over powered
+Kyle Batschkun he was asking why everyone's saying it not what it means dumbass. And no, the only weapon that I know of that was overpowered for a little bit was the gjallahorn, which is fixed now

The Burden Of Proof XI is pretty beast, I love it.
What about the new monarchy shotgun it's basically a dry rot
+asdfwasd1 I got mine with danger close, full auto :D
yup, impact and RoF are identical to dry rot. the vendor one is perfect. it has full auto and the option to choose between Rifled Barrel and Reinforced Barrel, which both boost range. It has Aggressive Ballistics too

Found a ruin wake with smooth ballistics, spray and play, perfect balance and hidden hand. Not exactly disappointed with it
New monarchy shotgun?
yea no monarcay
+Anthony Banaana English?
+K BISH I picked it up the other day, is REALLY good in my opinion, not sure how it compares to The Next Big Thing (didn't even consider it cos of the horrendously loud paint job). I love pairing it with Melting Point on my sunbreaker, getting a melee in then just emptying my mag into the major enemy, pretty much nothing survives.
It's a beast really high rate of high really high range and it's very overpowered you need to pick it up
+K BISH I think 4 of the 6 New Monarchy weapons are worth consideration of purchase. The sidearm may be be the best vendor sidearm; the perks are outstanding, including Reactive Reload, which gives the biggest damage buff of weapon perks. The sniper rifle has very good PvP perks. I really like the an answering cord. Probably one of the best for PVP
Hawksaw is amazing. Fires so smoothly.
This is exactly what I needed! Thank you Datto!
My 1000 yard stare with ambush site, firefly, army of one, QuickDraw will be hard to be replaced by anything
There is another "new" fate bringer called Imago loop that you can get from the vanguard heroic strike but the only strike it can drop from is the undying mind but because of no more reforging you have to keep on doing the strike until you get the right perks ( firefly and danger close).

The new monarchy shotgun is amazing, I'm surprised u didn't include it :)
I LOVE the havoc pigeon, it's incredible.
Interesting little fact about Havoc Pigeon: It has a slower RoF compared to other sidearms like the NM Conviction II.
You missed the New Monarchy Shotty, its high rate of fire make full auto very fast.
I'm so glad I found a Patch A with full auto!
the hawksaw kicks some serious ass in pvp. if you have some stability perks it's a three burst headshot kill. the rate of fire is pretty quick too. but the stability is where it excels
Completely agree that the Hung Jury is by far the best scout rifle from a vender
Great information Datto, you're the man.
There's a quest that gives you an option of a shotgun or the 1000 yard stare with firefly and it's a beast
Datto....you forgot the Burden of Proof!! That thing destroyssss
I think The Smolder is a great rocket launcher, tripod+grenades and horseshoes+ taikenaut with tracking! beast mode.
so apparently you can get "will of light" perk on non raid weapons. thought it was exclusive to raid weapons. got it on my "does not bow" and its pretty awesome!
would love to see some dps comparisons for 1000 yard stare vs things like stillpiercer, black spindle, and the raid sniper.
Side arms work spectacularly with blood bound shadowshot.
pretty much everything works wonders with this :D
i so abuse it to just tether a large group of thralls and then just slice one of them with my sword :D
I have a Hawksaw with Rangefinder, fitted stock, and smallbore. It is an amazing weapon!
The vanguard scout, crowd control, explosive rounds, reactive reload
I got the Hung Jury in a package from Dead Orbit. Great gun!
was watching some dude named Gondo Does Destiny, been playing since the alpha. Guy knows his stuff and doesn't act ignorant to fans..
+Lance Allen Please spit out what you are trying to say.
Villany by far the best gun u can purchase, and it has great perks on it
Lol you only have that weapon right?
xD
I got the villany with the body shots will make precision shots give more damage(forget the perk)
+Matthew Plays headseeker
Second best* have you seen the hung jury???
My Patch-A is beast, has full auto and grenadier. Love using it
I'm so lucky that all of the guns Datto recommended are the guns I got from Emgram drops, Faction and Vanguard packages.
I got the Last extremity I think it's called with triple tap and firefly and I really like it. It only has 12 bullets but has the same impact and rate of fire as Jade Rabbit and I think the other higher impact scout rifles. It definitely does hit like a truck crush raid enemies
No mention of the New Monarchy shotgun?
dude i got a 1000 yard stare with firefly, may i have icebreakers child....
sidearms are actually much better now, and offer a nice change of pace when doing daily stuff or whatever.
Just watched some guy named Gondo. Really good.
No mention of the risk of your game crashing while using the FWC HandCannon?
What risk? How?
+Andrew Denneno Firefly is bugged and can cause game crashes.
+IamWinkly since when?
+IamWinkly I have it and can confirm that this is true. Plus here are bunch of others from reddit with same problem...www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/3lvpyi/sga_do_not_use_the_firefly_perk_on_the_future_war/
+AlphaXOmega since pretty recently. I'd say in the last 2 weeks or so.
Datto the Imago Loop hand cannon from the Undying Mind found as a legendary drop is nearly the exact same weapon as Fatebringer except Imago doesn't have elemental damage, it's more similar to the Fate bringer than that FWC one
If you like The Messenger or Hopscotch Pilgrim, you'll LOVE The Villainy. You can usually two burst to the head.
want a great raid set up? use bad juju, and 1000 yard stare. bad juju mows down all tier 1 adds easily (especially those that clone themselves) while increasing your super. the stare is great for majors and you will have your new OP subclass super (subreakers you know what I mean) to wreck everything else.
use whatever heavy you want, it doesn't matter you're already a beast now. if you want god mode run this all with a sunbreaker titan with ruin wings. the wreckage is hilarious and scary powerful. RIP Oryx and all who served him.
The dead orbit scout rifle is my fav honestly
I'm still really surprised there's so little talk of firefly being pretty heavily nerfed in 2.0. Firefly is still decent for staggering a bunch of enemies, but it is no longer capable of outright killing any enemies, even thralls. The days of firing 1 shot and firefly taking out 8 thralls or acolytes at once are gone.
My Girlfriend has a Hung Jury and she loves it. She doesn't have the vendor one, but the omolon scout rifles in general are awesome.
i've been using the hung jury for a the last week or so. it is fantastic
Hawksaw literally destroys in PvP, setting it off like it's nothing is a big understatement.
Definitely buying the vertigo once I get the last few legendary marks
I have a Down and Doubt with almost the same perks as The Vanity and its excellent (I have Zen Moment instead of Luck in the Chamber). Have more bullets in the chamber and got that leveling up Vanguard. The best Fatebringer-like vendor weapon I own.
It would be cool to do a video on what you think is the best PvE Sunbreaker build.
Best vendor weapon hands down
How about the burden of proof from new monarchy?
It's a monster in PvE
Nice and concise. Thank you!
1000 yard stare is love 1000 yard stare is life
My Hawksaw is great. I got all stability perks on it and that's what I use in the raid.
Who else noticed that future war cult has a ton of good stuff this time
got a vanity with messenger perks as reward from faction rank....the thing is a beast.
I got the Choleric Dragon from a reward, and it has Battle Runner, Cluster Bomb and Javelin! it honestly is a mini Hunger of Crota....
got an amazing hitchhiker from a dead orbit package with danger close, accelerated coils and rangefinder and hits like a beast but I'm preferring the susanoo more cause of the burn changes
I have really good upgrades on hacksaw so I agree with the subtitle at 1:48
Thank you so much for this Datto
Hawksaw is a beast, I have mine 300 attack and that thing is a total boss, the dead orbit scout is a boss in the raid.
What about Not Like The Others? That is a good scout rifle, Explosive rounds, reactive reload, and crowd control. I'd say that is pretty good
Hey Datto about the sidearms. I use the vanguard one because I got zen moment and outlaw, as well as a perk that kicks the magazine size up to 18. I forget what it is called. However, if I didn't have such a good roll I doubt I would ever use sidearms
Ummm burden of proof shotgun from New Monarchy? Im in love with it.....
I have the crucible side arm with surrounded, outlaw, and skip rounds (gives me a LOT more ammo) it feels very powerful I like it
