- In diesem Video zeige ich Euch wie ich eine Weidenhütte flechte. Es war mein Corona- Ostern Projekt 2020. Es ist kein Haus zum Wohnen nur eine Spielhütte für Kinder. Sie steht bei der Schule. Ich hatte viel Spaß beim Flechten jetzt wünsche ich Euch viel Spaß beim zuschauen und nachbauen.
Schaut mal genau ab der 4. Minute! Oft ist es ein Problem, dass die Tipis von rund in ein "Tropfenform" kommen. Das passiert durch große Spannung, die auf die Ränder vom Eingang wirkt. Um dem entgegenzuwirken habe ich die Hütte vorübergehend geschlossen! (Ab Minute 4!!!) Ich habe zwei starke Ruten mitten durch die Tür gezogen. Später sobald die Tür fertig ist und das obere Teil geflochten wird, habe ich die Tür wieder freigeschnitten.

It would take me a day or two to come up with a bunch of sticks the same size. Beautiful. Nice and shady too. Perfect for the Bavarian hillside in summer. Bees make something similar, except they went with an hexagon.
For this hut I needed 4 half-days. I feel like a bee ;)

Looks fantastic, love this video. Next video would love some real time sections where you could show and teach how to make it. Would love some instructions on sections like the door and the little roof.
Thanks, I do my best. Watch my new Videos with garden obelisk and garden fence. There I teach how to do this.The technik is similar.
I agree; I absolutely love the video and watching your work come together, but I would have definitely preferred a longer video showing us newbies a more step-by-step demonstration. Making a garden fence isn't too bad, but the obelisk, I'd personally love to have someone beside me helping me to learn the twisting action properly for my first one (or maybe two), it's a lot harder than you guys make it look. This structure would take pride-of-place in anyone's garden/yard, it would just be hard to take on without a little more detail. By the way; your daughter's adorable popping in and out on her skates.

Beautiful! What do you actually use them for and where did the idea come from?
We use them just to play with the children. The Idea🤔.... I don't know. It is very old technik to do the fence on field and in the garden.

You are INCREDIBLE! Thanks for showing us. I am so inspired by you. I've made a grass hut settlement, but the top of one of the domes has poofed, so I am going to try this top. I've not got the long straight tall willow, however. Do you prune them to grow that way the second year? Mine are basketry willow, but never so big. Mostly I use alders, as they are right there in the settlement floodplain. I'll go have a look and see what straight saplings I can find.

Hi, das ist nicht so einfach zu sagen. Ich habe ca 1,5 Anhänger gebraucht also sehr sehr viel!. Ich habe mal eine Schätzung gefunden 4m2 Fläche brauchen 2,5 Bündel (a ca. 20kg) Weiden in ca 2-2.5m länge. Am günstigsten ist es selber schneiden do wie ich es mache. Kaufen - versuche Dein Glück auf Ebay Kleinanzeige in Frühling- bis 28.02 darf man schneiden. Bei den kommerziellen Händler ist es nicht günstig und teuerer Versand.
That is one big fish trap! lol With a bit of mud and debris this would make a nice survival hut. Did you use fresh cut willow and if so; did the ones that you stuck in the ground root? Willow is very good at that.
It was fresh willow. The first one didn't get roots because this place is to dry. It is south wall and stony soil. Willow need a lot of water.
Und dann noch mit Lehm verschmieren? Welchen Nutzen hat eine Hütte, die weder vor Regen und Wind schützt noch genug Platz zum Schlafen bietet?

What is the correct time of year to cut the willow? Your work is beautiful! How long do they last?
It is allowed to cut between 30.10 and 28.02 ( in Germany) So in the winter time bevor the leaves come
