    Ingen Sanning Är Allas (Lyrics)
Sweat on the brow runs over faces made of snow
There comes a time in life when death may come too slow
    Honesty in the necrology
The offspring smear your name in print
You have waited far too long
But Spring is set in bloom
    You have conquered love inside
    Yet sorrow is your doom
The debts are long since paid
    Inheritance is set
Still agitation reels inside, lest you forget
    At sunrise Friday morning
    A haven for your sins
    The written dedication
    Etched into your skin
Time won’t heal the wounds you bare
Between old pride and desperate prayers
Time won’t heal any wounds you bare
A set few years of your life are stolen
    Light cast on the obvious
Behold the white when it’s faded golden
A stranger‘s truth holds no water here
But soon we may have learned
    Dead sympathy, an aversion proceeds
A voice lives in your chest
    That comforts wary thoughts
Yet the brook is still too wide
To bridge the gap you’ve sought
You trade your vices every day religiously
A pack of vultures wait for everyone to see
You gave away too much, a harness on your kin
For any transgressions never mirrored mortal sin
    Yet you are deserted
    The day in zenith now
You made it through the night
    Voice of perdition
Came and went far out of sight

      @An Orthodox Philosophy Ok, understood.
But personally, I don't the see the quoted line as a nihilist thing. It just seems that it is trying to tell people that action is required in order to live better. I think time can heal wounds, it certainly did for me, but for that it is required some will and responsibility by our side. If one keeps on blaming life for their suffering and does nothing about their misery they will keep themselves miserable. If they rely solely on time to figure out their problems, they will most likely continue to suffer until the end.

Started listening to Opeth way back in high school, around 2011~2012, for literally a decade. I started with their 'metal' era with, beginning with "Ghost Reveries", which made me go down a rabbit hole and listen to everything they'd released. In this decade of constantly following up with their sound, they were there during my ups and downs, helping in so many aspects of my life, metal-wise and mental wise.
I had to deal with personal issues, I felt lonely a bunch of times in those years, and even struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts. Opeth's music to me was an escape from reality, I could always go back and find comfort, I felt connected with so many of Mikael's lyrics, it made me rethink my life decisions and start to improve.
Thankfully I've found a way to deal with my inner problems and traced a well tough path for my life. I managed to overcome my depression, which I never felt ever again so far, managed to get my bachelor's degree, and started to take care of my body by eating healthy, exercise and and stopping using drugs. And all and all never abandoned listening to their music. It helped me a lot. I mean it.
Got me an Opeth tattoo on my arm, I dunno, I am grateful for knowing this band, thankful for all the good times I had with them, and plus, ITS FUCKING AWESOME
In ten years, I have not been able to attend an Opeth concert, because they rarely played in my hometown, Sao Paulo, Brazil. And this was on my bucket list, for years I've been wanting to see them live for the first time.
But the universe granted me my wish, next year, on February 8th, 2023, Opeth will play a gig in Sao Paulo and guess what, I got the tickets!!!! I am so happy that I will watch my favorite band for the very first time!!!! I feel so good
    Thank you, Opeth

This video and music hits me hard. My ex fiance left me about 7 years ago without an explanation (even to this day) and I suffered deeply for almost a year questioning what I had done wrong. The melancholy and agony and also loss of control over my relationship and life drove me nuts for a long time. It took a truly wonderful person to bring me out of that darkness.

Mikael shows his Steven Wilson influence profoudly on this album, even having the same guy that made a few of Steven's videos do this video. I think the times they worked together really impacted Mikael, to the point that the more recent albums have been more emotional (ethereal) musically. The melodies and textures are next-level compared to older Opeth albums. Still heavy but in an emotional way (instead of a sonic way). In Cauda Venenum is about as perfect of an album as you can ask for.

Opeth really has 3 sides: prog death metal (1995-2008), prog rock (2011-today) and ballads (spread everywhere and 2003). Each album and phase is nice and has a different touch. Blackwater park is prog death metal perfection, morningrise sounds like black metal, heritage is perfect to listen to if a storm is coming up in the distance, ... Their setlist for the fall 2019 Euro tour is basically perfect to get into the 2000 onward stuff. although I'd change allting tar slut with minnets yta from the new record.

The video has that lugubrious and empty air that I love ... Opeth does not disappoint, its sound has changed but it is still interesting and very creative... Long live Opeth
