The most terrifying thing about sharks is how they appear out of nowhere and dissapear just as fast. Something the size of a double decker bus moving that fast into the abyss is a fucking nightmare
@@KoolKats5I’m always rooting for the shark lol. Such a great and iconic fish. Understanding that sharks may bite you in order to determine you’re a good source, is enough for me to appreciate land.
See, sharks are amazing and terrifying creatures. A lot of the times they just want to see what you are and don't *mean* to kill, but if provoked they will bite. The ocean is their home, not ours. I'm terrified of sharks but I love them at the same time
You sound like the Grizzly man. There are hundreds of unprovoked shark attacks on the books. Unless swimming in an area they don't normally frequent is "provoking" them? bears live on land 🤷🏻♀
@effaroundfindout Sharks don't always perceive humans as humans. We look very similar to seals and sea turtles when compared side by side, and to a shark, it just confuses them. Sharks don't MEAN to eat humans, they think that we're their usual food. Most of the time, Sharks only take a bite or so and then back off after realizing. From personal experience and studies, humans taste like shit to sharks. 😂
They are killers when they are agitated by hooks stuck in their jaws, and by injuries from boat props. Among other human induced issues. You can’t blame them.
The first guy had fish in his hand so the shark was trying to eat it, the man moved the fish and the shark caught his arm BY ACCIDENT recognized it wasn't good and moved on... The narrator has pissed me off already and I'm only at 1:01 UPDATE: I made it to 8:42 and can't watch anymore.. sharks have a bad name and that narrator definitely plays that narrative. The cage ones for starters look how many fish are around the cages (their food), and it hits the cage and moves on because it was a mistake. The fact he called the shark a death machine and thought the dude was crazy for being happy to see a shark tells you a lot about the narrator. Again, the shark went for food, the turtle it was unsuccessful, it saw the board and commonly known surf boards are a case of mistaken identity for shark so he thought it was food and chomped accidentally knocking the dude off and again swam away one he realised there was no food there. We need to have more love and respect for sharks. They are important to our ecosystem and are not the vicious animals they are made out to be ❤️
Why are shark cages designed like that? Why aren’t they made with chainlink? I’ve seen enough videos of sharks being able to get far enough in to attack the person inside. If not chainlink then more bars closer together.
it fucks me off how some of them are not swimming away. they just keep getting closer and bother/annoy them and then they blame the sharks for being "violent" 🙄
*Great video...don't know how I ended up watching damn shark attacks but...this is so very INTERESTING!! Lol all the more reasons I'm terrified of deep water.*
A good thing to remember: emergency responders can’t always rescue you, and they don’t HAVE to rescue you. There’s a chain of command and legally-protected limits to what they can do, for their own safety.
I love sharks. They are incredible animals and essential for our oceans to be healthy. They need our protection, not to be vilified for being the wild animals they are.
As someone who’s swam with and studied sharks, the whole “sharks are just curious” thing as a way to explain the rise of attacks is only half true. Yes, that’s the case sometimes. Other times it’s because sharks are legitimately angry. It’s almost always because they have hooks stuck in their jaws or have injuries caused by boat props from getting run over. Among other human induced things that agitate these animals. They aren’t “retaliating” against humans, but rather angry in general, and thus, will show aggression toward any disturbance.
Is it possible that some of them, like the bullshark responsible for the 1916 attacks, are injured and can no longer hunt their typical prey? That's what is believed to have happened with the Tsarvo lions that kept killing people. Humans do not move very fast.
What is your take on the oceanic whitetip from around 27:00? I found it interesting that the shark came back to attack the SAME diver (without having hurt him in the first attack, so no obvious marker for the shark). Although they were many divers close to eachother. This intrigued me highly.
just so you know, most sharks accidentally bumps into cages and get their heads stuck so it looks like theyre trying to get in but theyre just accidentally bumped into it cause the bait might be right infront of the cage and they were going for the bait.
the intro saying "man has came upon many threats in its thousands of years of existing, but nothing like the shark," or whatever it said, HIGHLY overestimates the threat of the shark. you can literally, in most cases, turn the sharks nose away from you or flip the shark over to deflect it. IN ADDITION, sharks don't like the taste of flesh so most times they will take a bite of you on accident and then spit you out. this was the reason I was scared of sharks and not wondrous of them when I was a kid. anyways... And if something happens to those kids the parents would of demanded a world wide hunt for the death of that shark that they were letting they kids fk with!!!
Did the guy that speared that shark at the end kill that Shark? Looked like he got it through the mouth to the brain by the way it was swimming. Dudes lucky and nice shot.
The guy of the turtle and shark fight is named Brody, his channel is youngbloods, he’s from Australia and he’s an experienced person who grew up with the ocean by his side and he actually knows how to deal with these animals.
