You remind me of demolition ranch but that's not a bad thing
Kentucky Ballistics Hands up he’s got a gun
Well it's not a frozen turkey but an anvil is just as good. Watching a 50 bmg demolish things is always awesome.
I just clicked on this vid and the first thing I see is a man throwing a anvil at a Dino and a Dino with an ak47
This is content
And dino should be say "how dare you approaching me"

@@DaseggMQB fr, its unfortunate that first gun would end up doing the most damage, not just to the anvil
@@kclaridge1206 right so wild thinking about that. But our boy made it through. My heart definitely dropped though for a moment when it happened.
bro i know
I am genuinely amazed how powerful those armour piercing rounds are
You can really do some damage , 50bmg is at the limit of being a " mini cannon "
They can't pierce armour, only armor;)
They are made to be anti tank rounds
Its literally in the name about their power...

"Tryactin... Try actin' like a man." Count on me to steal that line and use it at the earliest opportunity.
Same...that's excellent
First time I heard that was probably 2010 or 2011, but this is the first time since.. it never really seemed to catch on... I agree though, it's a good one :-P... Next time your coworker is complaining about something, tell him "it sounds like you need a prescription for triactin"... "Triactin?? What's that?"... "Try actin' like a man!"
Yup. That's a good one
First time ever hearing that one. Best line ever!
All ready use it.
This is the same gun that put Scott in a hospital 2 years later!
True
Are you surprised? That thing has a freakin cap that holds the pressure of a freakin 50 cal round. Wow, sure it holds the pressure of standard ammo, but a gun should also be designed to handle failures at least in such a way to let the gun explode in the opposite direction in case of an over pressure error. My mind is boggled how people still defend that sewer pipe of a rifle. Wouldn’t shoot that thing if it was for free.
@codecampbase1525 I agree. Who's idea was it to put a fuggin threaded cap on the end? Why not bolt, or falling block? Cheap manufacturing is why.
@@lukefarnham2119 its a sewer pipe rifle. Straight outta the sewer and comes with a green glow. Send this thing to our enemies.
Engineering is pretty much using as little material and money as possible to make something that’s passable
RN 50 was supposed to be an affordable 50 cal. The average price is around $1600. From what I see on sale for other rifles go for $4500-15000.
It’s a risk to take. *So only use it in the way it’s intended to, and not with incorrect ammunition*
Surprised how much more energy scott seems to have in his new videos compared to the older ones
It's the finger sound effects at the start and end. It's where he draws energy from.
And how much bigger he is now

Overall he is a great guy. It amazes me how easily he fires those heavy caliber guns (.600 double barrel and all that), as if he is firing a BB gun. I really enjoy his style and friendliness.

I laughed so hard at this comment thank you for that
The grain structure of that anvil is too coarse. You really need to test with a forged heat treated anvil.
Probably a Chinese built one.
@@douglascasey3486 Better yet...manufacture label says...'Made In The British Crown Colony of Hong Kong'...
Yeah, says made in china on the lable .
It's iron, not steel.
Its a harbor freight anvil, its made of cast iron. Very soft, you can dent it with your hammer. (I know from experience, mine is covered in dents.)

Yeah definitely more entertaining than Matt on demo ranch and an added plus is Scotts not so cringy all the time lol
If you stop and think about how much speed, energy, and force it takes for that 50bmg to lift up amd toss the anvil like that.... geez that's impressive!

oh man, that is so impressive, how can a gun do this. it's so crazy
It doesn't take much for a 600+ grain projectile going nearly 3000 feet per second to move 50 pounds lol
@@luizguilhermetorezane9360 Bro, it's a 50 pound anvil. It's not that impressive. Multiply that weight 100 times and then we start getting into impressive territories
Craig Guerrero. Umm something that weighs a couple ounces throwing something that weighs 50lbs is impressive idgaf what you say yes there is stuff that is more impressive that doesn’t take away from the physics here.

I would have loved to see armor piercing ammo from each rifle. The outcome could have been much different.
Just curious. Have you ever done a test like this with some kind of barriers (like Styrofoam or cardboard) on the sides of the target to track shrapnel distribution from the point of impact? After seeing the tracer deflect to the right on the last 50 cal shot it might show some interesting results.
I love the Dino moments during the start of videos
Thank you!

I'd be curious to see what a forged steel anvil would do instead of cast steel. Cast typically is much weaker/softer.
The brand of anvil he’s shooting at is cast iron.
The brand is Central Forge... But yet it's a cast iron anvil very misleading hahahahah
Cast is actually harder.

Im going to start using that phrase at work.
Just imagine what these rounds do to a human.....wow!
Your within range
Do you mean you don’t know? The answer is pink mist... 🤣
No seriously..... it’s just pink mist.
Depends where it hits. Limbs get torn off, torso gets obliterated. The head would be clean gone. Nobodies the same after getting shot with these rounds.
There would be no human left lol
Actually they're not meant for anti-personnal , 300. Winchester is .
Wow. You have gotten much bigger and considerably goofier in the last 4 years!
When they ask, "Is it hard?" And a guy says, "Blue Steel!" He isn't talking about cast iron under blue powder coat. It looks like some impressive damage until you realize the BIG difference between an economy, cast iron anvil, and a pricey, forged steel anvil. So if anyone watching is imagining getting this much penetration on "Hummer," or APC, armor plate, you should know not to expect near this much penetration. Military armor is made to handle much more of a beating than a soft, easily breakable cast iron anvil. This is just a demonstration of the effectiveness of caliber, and projectile type, on a low cost anvil. Forged steel anvils can be pricey, and out of the range that he would want to spend just to torture it with hot tungsten and lead. Besides, a good quality, forged steel anvil is a piece of art that you just wouldn't want to torture, or destroy, unless you just don't care, and have a good chunka dough to blow.
Another thing to consider is range. Most combat engagements will usually have a lot more distance for the projectile to travel before contact with a target. If you noticed the slow motion tracer shot, the red tracer pellet had not had time to ignite by the time the projectile hit the anvil. What we saw burning on the aft end of that projectile during flight was gold in color, and was the layer of priming compound that coats the aft end of the tracer pellet. That compound's purpose is to ignite the tracer pellet composition, that is pressed so hard into a solid pellet, that it most likely wouldn't ignite very well, if at all, if fired without the priming compound. The red tracer pellet had just lit as the projectile was digging into the anvil, and the pellet broke off and flew off to the right about ten feet away or so. You could still hear the tracer pellet sizzling as it burned on the ground. Anyway, point is that most combat engagements, especially sniper work, are usually done over much greater distances that, for a heavy projectile like .50 BMG, causes the projectile to lose velocity and energy fairly quickly as flight time and distance get greater and greater. At the muzzle .50 BMG is devastating, in the ballpark of 2,700 fps and 11,000 ft lbs. However, at say 2,000 yards its velocity, and energy, are down to around 930 fps and 1,280 ft lbs. At the maximum distance of 2,600 yds most .50 BMG loads will be down to around 810 fps and 980 ft lbs. At those distances penetration through even the thinnest armor steel is a "long shot."
Spot on
5:28 i was scared so fu'king much i thought the bullet came back to you 😂

"My ideal anvil, is one that has a built-in parachute. Just in case." - Wile E. Coyote
The main reason the smaller calibre rifles didn't penetrate far into the anvil is due to you firing FMJ instead of AP. The hardened steel or tungsten carbide cores of the AP rounds are far better at penetrating due to the hardness of the material and the higher strength compared to lead. Also you where fine at 5:24 as it was only the tracer element that detached from the rear of the round coming back.
That anvil sure took a pounding.
That rifle told that anvil before filming "I'm gonna hit you like no other hammer can!"
