Deity always feels like you have to play perfect or else you get steamrolled. It kinda takes the game out of the game for me. I enjoy king or emperor a lot more.
As a Resident of Winterpeg, Manisnowba, we're popular for good and bad reasons, like wasting lots of money on useless building, and being the murder capital for almost 20 years in a row!
Louis Riel, the 1919 General Strike... don't underestimate the influence of Winnipeg and Manitoba. That said, it is a bit surprising to see it pop up before some of the other, older settlements.
I don't understand why you traded a +5 campus or holy site ( would eventually be +10 with double adjacency bonus cards) for a stone query with stone circles? Alternatively you could've saved all those mountains for National Parks.
Nothing better than having the flu and a bad fevor and being able to sit back and watch a relaxing game like civ. Tried to play it myself but my head hurts too bad.
So, a bit split on the icons in the danger system, some surprise (i think) is nice, maybe these should actually unlock with certain technologies (and if an event happens in a tile, it too should likely be marked … like the resource system, actually makes more sense as well as provide/opens-up a lot of possible gameplay ...
I'm waiting to see what flooding does, I still remember in an old Civ game I played a huge city getting wiped out by flood, disease, crime then flipping all the surrounding cities I conquered back to the people I took them from, like five cities. lol
"We are getting a lot more passive faith, which is going to be nice you know, to be able to buy some people........ ehwm and 'if' we do buy some people... You know great.. great people" -Quill18 even Canada does slavery now:P Best quote of 2019 yet.
I never worry about UA-camr pronunciation, with so many regional differences, not to mention 200 some potential nations of origin. I figure when someone pronounces something 'wrong' they're just deliberately trolling. Especially when it's you or Arumba, Quill. :D
Until now, this nothing about this game made me want to play it- fun for an afternoon, but then there is 'Civ. 4&5' for that (those being the 'Civ.' games that I own). But with this DLC, I cant wait until the next Steam sale!
One small suggestion, Turn the Game voice Audio to minimal in Game Settings, as it drowns you out when you both speak at the same time.....Just a Tip for better Quality audio mate !.....
God the Canadian stereotypes in this are pure gold. Although the Mounties are a damn police force. Its makes like no sense to have them as a unit. But, with the rest of the stereotypes, I can look past this.
What land layout did u use Because every time I start a game I’m so close to another several ovation I end up having to go to war all of them started by that civilization and it pisses me off
2:00 Takes long enough? There's no such thing in strategy games. They can never lay long enough. Time spent on a sunflower strategy game is like dakka.
Depends if you are going by size, importance or actual founding date. If it’s the latter then St John’s and Quebec City should be first up. However, as mentioned it’s randomized.
yea see you keep saying hokey and last video you said "there is only one type of hockey" but in america we have ice hokey, roller hockey and table hokey.
funny thing is ive never seen the religion screen since quill never gets one and i saw Jesuit Education, which is funny too me since i go to a Jesuit school
I stopped playing civ after 3, but I had friends who had later versions. Why are post 3 players lazy about building new cities? Is it not important to build cities anymore? Overall the games seem to be at a much lower pace than 3, even at high difficulties.
First stone circles, then stonehenge. Man Canada has gotten really stoned since they legalized marijuana.
Buuuuuuuuuu! For that terrible pun
But you can say that his foundation is rock solid or that without a a campus he Cannada.
god dammit that pun was rock bottom
golf clap golf clap
I wonder why the rock isn't Canadian, he would certainly fit in
Someone ruined the 420-like count on this comment:(
I love how Winnipeg is worried about flooding from the river, so accurate
Can we get Duff Roblin as a governor?
Haha oh man that is great.
When the Red and the Assiniboine floods Winnipeg just says "No."
Look up the flood of '97
Have to say, i prefer this over deity. Being mostly locked out of building wonders is lame.
Especially since the "advantages is the computer just cheating a start. Always bugged me
@@OhNoTheFace I'm hoping they release the DLL and modders can start working on a Vox Populi esq AI overhaul.

@@ivanclark2275 I like Warlord. You dont have to do anything "right" & you can still dominate.
Quill missing that worker at 10:16 with his scout, oof.
Dezeria too kind to take a worker
Our religion "...it's mostly talking about the weather . "
Bever
over a cup of a Tim's double double watching the local hockey game on the river
OMG! The music - 23: 30 playing “ Farewell to Nova Scotia”. Nice touch.
Ah yes, the third most important city in Canada: Winnipeg.
Ah yes, Wennipeg, the city that was founded and helped expansion to the west.

Christian Mitchell Still better than being the AIDS capital...Saskatchewan
EveryChevyChase hahaha; just curious which city/town are you from? I’m from Saskatoon
yh, don't take that free builder from the barbs, just heal the scout instead
I was just about to say that
Yeah, same here - I just noticed "hey, free builder" and he promptly ignored it :(
the video needs a triggered warning
To be fair it was on the other end of a barbarian infested continent, getting it back to Canadian borders would have been a huge pain in the ass.
i love ending the first part and seeing that theres another part as of 3 minutes ago
YES! I was worried that I might have to wait a bit for ep 2.
I don't understand why you traded a +5 campus or holy site ( would eventually be +10 with double adjacency bonus cards) for a stone query with stone circles? Alternatively you could've saved all those mountains for National Parks.
I don´t understand most of his discissions. He says smth clever than does the opposite.
Let other build.. I 'll take them with my army
And then you can do the dedication so you also get plus 10 production.
Yeah I totally agree the campus was a lot better
Looking forward to seeing more of the Great Maple Bacon empire.
"Spread Politeness slightly faster" if only in real life...
I love the violin "farewell to Nova Scotia" playing in the background- sooo nice
The Incan dude was actually telling you to build MORE ships.
And that, my friend, is how international conflicts get started.
Or at least in Civ 6 it is. XD
Really love your series ! Solid and entertaining gameplay.
Didn't name religion "Tim Hortonism" 0/10
You're a believer too eh?
Should of named it "Due South", would of made sense due to the far location from the tundra
Sorryism
Yes. The religion should be called "Sorry!"
Sore-y
Nothing better than having the flu and a bad fevor and being able to sit back and watch a relaxing game like civ. Tried to play it myself but my head hurts too bad.
28:09 He just removed a timber tile with a building IN a MAGNUS CITY. My pet is being peeved.
Really excited to see you playing Civ again!
Moto of Winnipeg: "Be weary of the nearby river"
So, a bit split on the icons in the danger system, some surprise (i think) is nice, maybe these should actually unlock with certain technologies (and if an event happens in a tile, it too should likely be marked … like the resource system, actually makes more sense as well as provide/opens-up a lot of possible gameplay ...
I never thought I'd live to see the day when you complete an early game wonder *single tear*
It's no Petra, but it's still pretty
Thank-you Quill for bringing back some Civ. Was wondering how long it would take to see you play as your nation. Enjoying your stream. Thank-you!
You are keeping me company during Distant Worlds 2
I exploded when u say "there is no beaver, i don't now" :))))
That is a pretty sweet spot for a commercial district on the bend on "Saint Lawrence River"
I'm waiting to see what flooding does, I still remember in an old Civ game I played a huge city getting wiped out by flood, disease, crime then flipping all the surrounding cities I conquered back to the people I took them from, like five cities. lol
I find it funny that you talked about the Great Bath and the next city-state you find is Mohenjo-Daro :b
hi im bit late to comment on this older video, but i rly like way u play and all :) keep up with good work!
Killing with Kindness (or Politeness)... it's the Canadian way...
YT is smart, it gave me a gathering Storm ad before the video.
Also. Inca is be like, No, u no get mountain, but he only has one moutain.
I think UA-cam tries to find ads that are related to the topic of the video, but I'm not sure.
quill: builds a wonder
*everyone hated that*
ooo, stockpile res, i'm in love
Good placement for Winnipeg, as IRL its on a flood plain as well

Aren't you just convincing them to sell their services to you?
"bonus for spreading things" made me giggle....
Love the mitch hedberg quote
At 22:00 the music is frawall to Nova Scotia
@quill18 cheers for Winnipeg!
Hahahahaha, for a game playing as Canada, with a religion of Politeness, the game is seriously out to make everyone hate Quill's guts.
Snap Quill... You're really tempting me to go and buy this after the release date. I still think it's slightly too expensive for an expansion though.
machu picchu is the ONLY good wonder in my opinio, because it doesn't take up a bloody tile! it's awesome
Eugene InLaw wonders on water tiles aren’t bad also. Venetian Arsenal is amazing!
literally just watched first part, love it already.
gibve moer plox papi

28:19 place oracle on mine one tile above, chop wood for Magnus production, then you have two wonders for Theatre Square adjacency..
Is it just me or does the music playing at 21:21 sound a lot like "Farewell to Nova Scotia"
best update yet THE SCOUT HAVE KITTENS
RIP Mitch Hedberg :(
I'm hoping that if you cooperate with Pachacuti's agenda he says, "It's over, ______! I have the high ground!"
Would have been a perfect time to talk about grievances, when you built your wonder!
Turn 60, when you built your campus district, you forgot about your Jesuit education.

i can't wait!!
Hooray!
Wait your building a builder? WITH A BUILDER?!
Quill, are you still going to continue the India game?
27:50 - Said no Canadian ever...
Now the big question is can you trade sheep for lumber? 😛
What land layout did u use Because every time I start a game I’m so close to another several ovation I end up having to go to war all of them started by that civilization and it pisses me off
It's really easy to tell he isn't from Ontario when he says Toronto.
I recommend playing at 0.75 speed, cause Quill talks fast as fu@%!
2:00 Takes long enough? There's no such thing in strategy games. They can never lay long enough. Time spent on a sunflower strategy game is like dakka.
omg can you even read?
Monumentality lets you buy civilian units with faith, including builders and settlers!
Can you read?... then spells settlers wrong 😂
+1 Hedberg reference
Quill also got some iron from that trade or was I blind?
yea the dlc is down to 10 out of 40 euros in epic store rn, and im so fukin buying this
Accurate Winnipeg.
Who does the voice in the game, I recognise it
i hope gathering storm comes to the nx
Where do you put fast movement and combat on
Awesome 2
Blame Canada, Blame Canada!!
Dude- one of the major features of the expansion is how disasters affect tile yields, so please for the love of god TURN TILE YIELDS ON!!! :(
Religion "hockeism" I died :D
It should have been maple syrup...it’s even wavy liquid
Hmmm, you need to demand the developers add a brussel sprout symbol for your religion....
Pot leaf. I know it would never happen, but it would be great.
What difficulty was this set at?
Prince, you can see it by looking at the combat screen, no bonuses for the AI
Why the heck is Winterpeg the 3rd city? Shouldn't it be Montreal or Vancouver?
All cities founded after the Capital are given a randomized name from the Civ's city name list.
@@peterj1979 oh thx for pointing that out. I was kind of confused as well. Toronto made sense, but Winnipeg, wut?

Show tier 4 governament?
Build a city on the river flood it then call it Venice.
yea see you keep saying hokey and last video you said "there is only one type of hockey" but in america we have ice hokey, roller hockey and table hokey.
Too much Civ 5 ?? in civ 6 horses are revealed ;)
Hey, your religions are always water-themed, Quill! What's up with that?
(considering earlier comments - wat, that's what)
ice hockey-ism....
woo canadia!
10:27 14:29 21:32 22:28 Loud talking + loud dialogue. What was said, I wonder. Kind of annoying.
If you play the game you will know ;)
funny thing is ive never seen the religion screen since quill never gets one and i saw Jesuit Education, which is funny too me since i go to a Jesuit school
Map seed?
