Napravim tipa 4 kruga bez problema i onda me iduca 3 puta u desnu stranu vuce. Kad radim onu radnju s ubrzavanjem i stajanjem isto me konstantno vuce desno, dosta cesto sam blizu desne trake. Imas kakav savjet za te osmice i dal si isto imao problema s jednom stranom, jer navodno je to dosta cesto?

    Dan this helped me a lot. I went out and practiced this for two days and now I got down the slow speed figure 8’s. The tips on the leaning, committing, counterbalancing and pressing on the opposite foot pegs really helped. Also the analogy of “dancing with the bike” was a good example because that’s what it felt like I was doing when shifting my weight in the figure 8’s.

    One thing I am discovering, and I don't know whether it's old BMX habits or not, but sitting back in the seat/leaning back on the bike seems to help get rid of that unstable feeling in the bars. Might just be me!

    Thanks for this Dan. I am in Europe and I am going through the driving school to obtain the motorcycle licence . When I had to do figure 8 on a 250 it was no problem, I enjoyed it, I even had fun. Now when I have to do the same thing on MT-07 I can't pull it out for some reason. I can't get myself to look up and where I want to go, I feel stressed out and the bike stands still but from all the overload in my head I put my foot down. Now I hope I'll get better tomorrow after watching this. And funny thing is that when I have to drive on the circuit, make a U-turn on a circuit I have no problem whatsoever, nor do I feel overwhelmed. But I end up between the cones and I'm game over....

      Yap, passed on my first try.
      Next day it just clicked. It turned out I just had a bad day. When I went to do figure 8 again I just relaxed, it took me some 5 seconds to keep my look up and where I need to be with my bike, NOT where I am. It just clicked on automatic and I never had any issues still, I got to ENJOY doing it.
      Since I already had B category in my license I had to do 15 hours of drive, where I spent 10 or 12 hours on the polygon (since being a part of traffic wasn't an issue for me since I am active driver) just practicing maneuvers on slow speeds with it so I can't say I noticed that issue.

    Thank you for the tips, if you are doing this in europe there are 6 cones total. Two in the middle and 4 forming a rectangle, if your turn is too wide and the bike gets out of that rectangle youre out. Pretty hard if you have to pass it on 220kg(485p) machine.

    Hi, I'm a returning rider. I took the MSF class 20 years ago, rode for six months, was a total squid, crashed really badly, almost died, and gave up on riding. I was young, immature, and just not mentally ready for the responsibility of riding a motorcycle. Recently, I started dipping my feet back into riding. About 3 months ago, I went out and bought an FZ-07 totally on a whim and started riding again. I cannot articulate at all how I ride. I just do it, instinctively, without thinking about it. I don't remember anything from my MSF class, but somehow my body remembers everything. My issue is this: I want to know why and how my body does what it does this and want to really improve my riding as an adult rider. I want to know why sometimes I counter balance and steer into the turn and other times I lean in and countersteer instead. I know that I still ride wrong on many occasions, particularly in slow speed maneuvers. I need to figure out a way to over ride my body's old habits and do it correctly. So I'm looking for a general rule of thumb for when when to counter balance and when to lean in. Do you have any advice for me?

  • @andysatch9150
    @andysatch9150 5 років тому +3

    Over here in the UK, they don't teach counter-weight technique for this test, its all about rear brake, the friction zone, and looking where you intend to go. Its also about being smooth and keeping an even speed throughout. I think it's great that you are covering the Mods from the UK!!!

    • @Slowcalcones
      @Slowcalcones 5 років тому

      This. That's how it should be done. Look up Jerry Palladino's UA-cam channel. He rides heavy motorcycles and doesn't counterweight that much. It's unnecessary if you have good technique.

    Good advise but reality is that at the skill test the space to do figure eight is much smaller. I failed my skill test on a sport bike today when doing the figure eight skill. I rather wait for the safety course to reopen. It’s easier to get the endorsement that way.

    No offense bro but that 8 figure you are performing is too wide for a license test. There is a rectangle with a defined size and in the video it seems you would have crossed it’s borders vertically and horizontally.
    The challenge is to perform an 8 figure inside a smaller radius.

    thats all false. first thing is that the figure eight is much smaller on official course, second thing is when you ride any kind of bike on the street you never move your butt across the seat like in this video. that's wrong. i'm telling this because i am a new rider and pass the course ok. i did it in my country. but what is this guy teaching is very wrong. the only right thing is when he said you look at the cones, that is exactly. when you do this practice you look the cones all the time. and how to use handles the right way: position your bike that way you are looking the cones on your left, starting practice at a complete stop, next step is to put in first gear only to bikes with high tourqe, otherwise can do also in a second gear, you are ridind and passing in straight line first cone by passing second cone starting with sharp turn to the left, you are looking down the cone 1 meter away from you, at the midle of cones straighten the bike up preparing to sharp turn right, again lookng straight down into cone, lookin nowhere else but just the cone. when you ride between the cones you leave the throtle alone, and the clutch alone, the bike is gone drive you. and ofcourse you do not switching position on the seat, thats ridicilous. the point of this exercise is to learn how to handle the bike in very thight little places. and one more thing you can not fall with the bike that way i describe. if i didn't fall, nobody will, unless if you pull a clutch then you are not gonna be happy. good luck
