39:00 love authors way of explaining. The video is super relatable, I learned a lot of things from this video alone can't wait read his book. My top learnings would be - 1) Plan your time instead of making lists, it'll help you get more done!
2) Be generous with money & cheap with time don't be opposite.
3) All human behaviour is about desire to escape discomfort so just know for everything you want you need do efforts!!
Top Learnings:
Firstly, I would like to thank both of you for this wonderful brainstorming podcast and I am expecting more videos on this topic.
(The main difference between humans and animals is the ability to think 🧠. We know what to do, when to do, how to do, and where to do, and so on...)
In this video, I was just stunned and came to know new dimensions of thoughts and how to master our minds, especially subconscious triggering emotions.
1. The biggest problem is that even when we know what to do, we don't do it.
2. Checking messages might look like work, but in reality, they are still distractions.
3. Getting rid of technology will not fix your problem. Your core issues stem from intrinsic emotions, not just from external triggers.
4. We must have great calendar management skills to give our minds a task in advance. Then it'll be traction, not distraction.
5. We are the boss of our life and time is precious, so we must be productive.
6. Use the 10-minute rule to say "not right now." Learn to ride the inner wave.
Now, I am looking forward to executing all these important points in my life.
With Regards,
Iqbal Raza

Staying focused becomes challenging without engaging in physical activity. Our bodies are designed for movement, and an interesting observation is that while people have the freedom to eat what they desire, many neglect morning workouts. I am confident that individuals who consistently avoid physical activity may struggle to maintain happiness and sustained motivation throughout their lives.
Ture
The most important 'ONE THING' is to listen to this guy several times...
“The time you plan to waste is not wasted time”
The first step to becoming indistractable is to master those internal triggers, or they will become your master.
#4 steps for indistractable
1. Master internal triggers
2. Make time for traction
3. Hack back external triggers
4. Prevent distraction with packs
90% of the time we get distracted, it's simply a response to a feeling.
"We need to be generous with money and cheap with our time"
Indistractable people use their discomfort as rocket fuel to fight distraction.
Emotions like boredom, loneliness, and fatigue are like waves, and use the 10-minute rule called “Surf the urge” to fight bad distractions.
“Reframe your experience in positive ways”
I am thrilled to soak in these fantastic insights! Your sharing has added a burst of excitement to my day. Thank you for such a valuable contribution!
"This podcast was a thought-provoking one. Filled with lot of learnings and new Perspectives.
And, I loved this insight :
"You don't lack discipline, You lack perspective"
MY Learnings :
1] 90% of the time your internal triggers distract you, rather than your external triggers. We need to learn to deal with our internal triggers in a healthy way so that we can move towards Traction easily.
2]4 steps to keep in mind to not get distracted :
>Master your internal triggers
>Make time for traction
>Hack back external trigger
>Prevent distraction with the pack.
3]You cannot call something a distraction unless you know what it distracted you from.
4] Self-talk is very important, we should be mindful of it.
5]The best way to avoid regret, is to decide in advance, how you wanna spend your time
My top learning from this podcast is -"Be generous with money but cheap with time."
Such a knowledgeable podcast. Keep posting such good stuff. Looking forward for the next!
Learnings from podcast nir Eyal emphasizes meticulous calendar management as for effective time allocation.
Introduction of the "10-Minute Plan" to break tasks into manageable increments and boost productivity.
Stress on distinguishing between distraction and traction, highlighting that not every task-related activity is a distraction.
Nir outlines two triggers: internal (90%) and external (10%). Strategies for addressing both types discussed.
Three Key Strategies:
Clear strategies to deal with distractions, intentional time for traction, and "hack back" techniques for control.
Acknowledgment of the common issue of knowing time management problems but not taking corrective action.
Time Frugality:
Advocacy for generosity with money but being frugal with time, recognizing its finite nature.
Future Consumer Psychology:
Speculation on consumer psychology in AR, VR, and AI, providing a glimpse into upcoming trends.
amazing amazing podcast!!
I'm so happy and grateful to be a part of this community and had the opportunity to learn so much especially from this podcast.
I learned:-
Rather than avoiding the feelings of distraction, we have to learn to sit with it and solve it in a way that is better for us and not something that feels better.
turn your distractions into tractions by putting them in your calendar.
Hack the external triggers and know what to do when you feel those triggers.
Whether you believe you can or can't do, is true(so simple yet so powerful!).
All human behaviour is about a desire to escape discomfort.
Good things take effort.
Use distraction as a fuel to progress
The podcast definitely blew my mind with Nir Techniques to handle things!
My Key takeaways:
📌The 10-minute rule: If you are feeling overwhelmed by a task, start by working on it for just 10 minutes
📌Making time for traction: This means scheduling time for the tasks that are most important to you, even if they are not urgent
📌Timeboxing: This involves scheduling specific times for each task you need to do, and then sticking to those times
📌Reframing your emotions: Don't see negative emotions as bad things. Instead, see them as waves that will eventually pass.

It was like a study lesson for me. 😅
I took 5 page of notes from this video.
Thank both of you for this. ❤
Really helpful.
I like the entire podcast, but the most important point I appreciate-and didn't know before-is changing how you interpret your body's emotional state and reframing your experiences in positive ways.
My biggest learning from this video is to know the main reason of getting distracted from focus, that is Internal trigger (boredom, anxiety, etc.) not the external distraction; this episode really helps me to become a better person. Thank you! Ansh and Nir Eyal for revealing the secrets.
The podcast is really insane, Nir has shared a lot of amazing hacks to minimize distraction and move our focus back to traction/work. Love the last section where you asked question about AI and AR impact in coming years (I have that question in mind too 😅).
Thanks for the podcast and amazing insights. I'll be sharing my key takeaways on linkedin super soon...
Hi❤ Anish, Could you please make a video for ux designers!?? About how to analysis a current userflow and more to improve a ux of any site.
I 💚✨ the way he uses the affirmation tactics to kill bad urges :)
Top Learning was that 10% percent is just cause by external Distraction and 90% is done by our self when we get bore or stress if we control internal distraction our 90% WORK IS DONE.
Love how enthusiastic he was about his work 👏
Thanks Ansh Mehra & Nir Eyal for this amazing learnings ❤
Yeah this last 50 mints was really amazing....I can't believe myself I had seen in one shot putting lots of distraction into traction through the video ❤😊
It's really a mindblowing episode of the cutting edge show , Nir eyal speaking style ,his narrative, his perceptions to deal with things is awesome.
Thank you Ansh for this podcast.
I want to extend my sincere gratitude to the organizers of the Cutting Edge Show, especially Ansh Mehra and Nir Eyal, for delivering such an enriching podcast. The depth of insights shared, ranging from the challenges of focus to the nuances of willpower and emotional well-being, has left an indelible impact on my perspective. Thank you for providing a roadmap to becoming 'indistractable' and fostering a healthier relationship with our internal triggers. Your dedication to sharing knowledge is genuinely commendable, and I eagerly look forward to more thought-provoking content.
really really helpful video to change the life in better direction
Loved this podcast. Thank you for sharing your knowledge sir.🙏✨🤍
This video is insane!!!!! Everyone should watch this video. AMAZING HACKS!
Change how you interpret your body’s
emotional state. Reframe your experiences in positive ways. For example, earlier, Nir would feel imposter syndrome whenever he stood backstage before his talk. He would feel bad about himself because he used to create a negative narrative in his brain. But now, he reframed the same body sensations in a new positive way. Now when he experiences the same increased heartbeat, he tells himself “I feel this way, because my heart is pumping faster to give my brain more oxygen so I can give my best possible presentation
I learned so much from this episode
Thank you Arsh mehraa
I'm really grateful to meet you online sir
it was really a very important and amazing episode.
I have a question for you? what drives you? Because your channel is really underrated. and I want that your channel will grow faster so that I can consistently learn for your videos. Thanks for giving so much value.
oh my god Ansshhh!! loved this one, so many insights and hacks in one video, can't wait to start imbibing these into my life!!!
One of the best podcast on internet. so much valuable information.
This podcast is really amazing🎉 I got my answers
My best learning was about the real definition of "DIS-TRACTION" & The quote that they told "The only way to prevent REGRET is to decide in advance, how you want to spend your time."
Friends like if you agree...☺
Such an insightful video! Changed my perspective.
The key lesson that I learned from it is that I have to change the way I speak to myself and interpret my emotional states.
Mind blown 🤯 as you said.
Loved the way you provided notes in middle of the video ❤ it helped a lot
Thank you for this podcast i got so much insights to implement
Wohoo😮🎉....mind blowing
I loved Nir's way of talking it's gives more vibes of productivity. Such a incredible thoughts and real time scenes he had shared I'm glad that i have watched this more patiently and attentionally ❤.
I would love to share what i have learned and noticed in this video and write openly:
1. First thing i also wanna to share that it's really a instinct quote that We should generous with our money and because we can make more but be cheap with our time...i really loved it❤️
2. What we have to do that when we know what to do we should give a start like setting a proper calendar of it to doing the work and utilize the time honestly.
3. And actually getting rid of high screen times over using phones and laptops won't fix our problem .
Because our main issue are internal not externally .
Like bored, stressed, anxiety .and this way things won't get fixed if we don't control our internal emotions.
4. To become indestructible we have to master to trigger our internal emotions like bore , anxiety stress etc.
5. So whenever we use phones or other stuffs we have to be mindful that is it fomo or boredom that we are using the phone?
6. And it is also my habit to set a time and duration to work before starting the work we have to set whether it physically or in mind ...
We should have to set a proper time and duration how long we can work efficiently utilizing the time honestly.
Here are the top lessons i have learned...it's great learning 🙌🏻😌
Thank you Ansh Mehra and Nir
Love this episode with Nir Eyal 🙌🏻 Thank you Ansh 🙏🏻 so grateful for this ❤

✨Most people believe that willpower is a limited resource, but it is not. It only depends on how you think and what you believe about willpower. If your brain truly believes that your willpower is limited, then it will be limited. Otherwise, you can extract infinite amounts of willpower.

Willpower always loose in a fight with subconscious mind.
