    Oh my gosh, I love the poor man’s pump vault! I just subscribed to your channel. I’m trying to live the Aqua scape lifestyle, but on the poor man’s budget. I’ve been trying to design my own pump, fault, and centipede for weeks. You got me halfway there. Thank you.❤

    First I didn’t know hostas like wet feet! Good to know, and I dint know if that was creeping Jenny, ( I do love how creeping Jenny will grow well under the water as well) or thyme on the sides or maybe both but absolutely love both and it is gorgeous.
    I also love your more natural falls, not a giant fake behemoth but multiple falls. And how it appears to creep out from under the deck, how far does it go under? And how the bridge is over more shallow water so if any one “little” falls in it’s not so scary. Your plants etc are all gorgeous. Dream escape backyard!
    Only thing I would have done different and the only thing is the clean out pipe for the intake bay, was your 3”, I would have done at least a 6” or bigger ( they have nice elbow if needed, pipe and screw on top for the bigger ones…as it’s easier to wiggle down a water pond/pool vacuum down the pipe to get clogs, Or invasive roots! I guess you are expecting it at the wetland filter to need the clean out, so never mind. Maybe it won’t be a problem. Otherwise I love your pond everything and your way to save money! I refuse to play thousands of dollar for Aquascape snorkel, vault and crates when at Walmart those black crates are $7 or less.! ❤

      Appreciate the kind words and glad you like the final product! We do enjoy our backyard a lot! As far as the clean outs, it's done in such a way that all you need to do is drop a sump pump once a year down the pump vault and suck out all the muck. The 6" corrugated pipe is pitched towards the pump vault so the muck has a tendency to settle at the bottom of the snorkel/pump vault. (never tried to use a vacuum, just the sump pump for cleaning) Thanks for watching!

    Are those aqua blocks or crates you are using in the intake bay

  • @clarkriccobuono3903

    Awesome work, I always knew you could use milk crates instead of over priced Aquascape crates.
    Where is water pumped from into the wetland? Skimmer? It's a submersible right?

    • @Red.Scapes
      @Red.Scapes  5 місяців тому +2

      Correct, it comes from the new intake bay that's about 18" water deep on the top. The submersible pump is dropped down into the pump vault about 5 feet deep under the crates.
      And yes, as long as you reinforce the milk crates a bit on the top (I used the aquablocks panels on the intake bay or you can use pvc pipe like I did on the wetland) it's all good. I spent $1.50/ milk crate sourced locally on Craigslist instead of $70/aqua block (3 milk crates = aprox 1 aqua block) Thanks for watching!

    So did you run a line from the intake to the bog plant side? Does it only run to the bog, or to the other streams? How many pumps do you have going? Need details! Lol😂

    • @Red.Scapes
      @Red.Scapes  4 місяці тому +1

      Yup, both bogs get fed from the intake bays. The zero edge intake bay feeds the forest side bog and the new big one by the bridge feeds the new hot tub side bog.. The deck waterfall also gets fed from the new intake bay. I have a total of 3 pumps running.

      @swash0601 I'm glad to hear our video was helpful! Intake bay and wetland is definitely the way to go when it comes to filtration. Good choice 👌 Would love to see some pics when done

    At 3:06 you use the white adapter that connects the PVC pipe to the corrugated drainage pipe, do you have the link or name of that item so I can buy it?

      Something I bought at Menards or Home Depot. Sorry, I don't remember what it was called. Thanks for watching!
