But I have been wanting to learn about the real moneymakers of the luxury world, which are handbags. So today we are looking at a pretty cool and diverse group of Gucci bags that spans more than 15+ years of collecting!

To me a bag is for putting things in. I have one at a time and use it till it dies then I get another one. I don't get this handbag and shoe thing. It's an expensive hobby.
Except for the last one, it made me gasp bc it was so cute
I felt bad, but all I kept thinking was, what a waste of fashion money that could be utilized to have an amazing wardrobe. You could have a closet like Alexa Chung’s and instead spend all the money to look like the tacky daughter of a Texas oil millionaire. 😄

A lot of the Gucci vintage leather bags are beautiful and high quality. When they started putting the logos on everything and making it in pleather ... ugh
I found the last one kinda cute. That’s about it. The rest are 😷 Gucci is just not my thing. It’s oscillating between tacky and basic (due to everyone wearing it).

Yep, for me they're in the same bin with LV monogram bags. Very frequently faked and just scream "influencer" or bought while on a cheap all-inclusive vacation somewhere in Eastern Europe.

It's super nice to see a girl who clearly has the money to spend on collection items but also cares about the history, the designers, and what each piece means to her and how she can wear it vs. just buying the bags to simply have them
She appreciates these bags like works of art but also isn't afraid to take them out. I think that's really wonderful

I’m happy for her and her purchases but.. some of these bags weren’t it. At the same time though, most of her gucci bags are old trends, so that’s probably why I’m not feeling it so much. Loved the Calfskin Dionysus Bamboo and the Yellow Floral Marmont though. I actually want to purchase those now #DesignerBagLover

Let me tell you the first Gucci Dionysus bag is EVERYTHING for working women. It's durable, it can be styled with almost ALL workwear outfits and fit a lot of stuff in it and although I understand that the signature red green and black gucci coloring can be off-putting for some but for me as long as it doesnt say the brand logo on the front of it then we're good.

@@redmanish lol yes it's very expensive but if you have the money this bag will LAST. Ive had some cheap bags that have rather stood the test of time OR completely fallen apart in a year but babbyyyyyy the dionysus was built to withstand even the worst conditions life has to offer. That bag is what you call sturdy !

its called quarantine!
It pains me that most of this collection, all though filled with a little history, is just... Ugly, especially for the price.
Why people still justify these prices to themselves is a mystery to me, because you could support an independent artist by having them hand craft a beautiful bag for you that would look better and last longer.
Had I been a bag fanatic, I still don't think I could've justified supporting these commercialised over priced bag brands (especially not now that they're cutting more corners in quality for profit), because you're not buying the bag, you're buying the brand.

I would love to see you review/critique street style. It doesn’t have to be celebrities or models, in fact I think it would be great to see styles that are a bit more attainable for most people (attainable meaning not all designer/custom). I know there are videos like “what New Yorkers are wearing” or something like that. I would love to hear some tips that I can actually apply to my wardrobe.
