They are great but screwed a lot of people when they raised there prices $500 on actions that were already on order. I would look at Mack Brothers or Pierce as an alternative rather than give Bob Beck more money to go on hunts.
@@20020x I was thinking of the various precision, long range, hunting, tactical forums that all exploded with negative sentiment when Defiance was bought out and the price hike hit.
I’ve bought 2 Tenacity actions (one stainless, one nitride) and an Impact Precision action. I love the Tenacity, especially with the nitride, but it’s hard to buy a Tenacity for $1600 when you can get an Impact with an integral rail, AW compatible, and nitride finish for $1,400. If Defiance would bring the price back down around $1,200-1,300, I would probably go back to buying them.
I just found defiance actions a few weeks back, and this video gave me so much info on what action im looking for. absolutely awesome video thanks for all the information
I own 2 Tenacity actions, one bare stainless and one nitride coated. Couldn’t be happier with them and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Top tier gear 👍
Honestly they are both very smooth with no hang up, my nitride one feels a little better due to increased use but you can’t go wrong with either. Nitride looks better though 😎
There’s a lot of competition in custom actions now with Zermatt, ARC, and now a big newcomer Aero precision. Honestly i think the differences between these will be customer service, feature set, barrel compatibility, and the big one PRICE! Sometimes you get what you pay for other times it’s diminishing returns. I don’t believe these actions have interchangeable bolt heads which is a big deal to me.
I actually prefer three lug actions for the shorter bolt lift. However, I'm not finding a lot of custom three lug actions. Most seem to be built around the two lug Remington pattern. Loved the video!
In my opinion , it is easier to get and maintain 2 full contact , flush mating surfaces than 3 or more. I like 2 lug actions over 3. Just my thoughts here.
Thankyou great video. But there’s more to ask. What actions are meant for double stack double feed or can you show how floor plate, box mag and AICS mate and cycle with the action? What if you want a shorter than short action cartridge like 6mm arc and keeping the bottom flat with no magazine poking out, that would mean box magazine or bottom metal floor plate. I’m so confused.
Im sure theyre better but are they twice the price of my tikka t3 rifle better? Can they take a half minute .75 minute rifle to a .3 minute rifle? If not then $1600 plus doesnt seem worth it at all
Great video explaining the basics, but hold on for a minute... is the picatinny mount not integral to the action on the Tenacity and the anTi? I would go for their other actions which offer that.
Thanks for the video! i have a tenacity and would like to know if it works with detachable AICS magazines. This will be going into a chassis that has no floor plate but a magazine opening for detachable magazines, thanks!
I have two questions. 1.) does the xm have the short action rem 700 stock footprint or is it its own size for stocks? 2.) is defiance worth the extra $400 over say stiller?
i can say about #2, but for #1, Defiance XM is Rem 700 footprint, but neither Rem 700 SA nor Rem 700 LA specification. So basically the space between action screws are different and you won't be install the XM to Rem 700 SA inlet, and you have to purchase stocks that have inlet specifically for Defiance XM. This is also true for their XM+ that has been released recently. To be honest, i hate manufactures making their own 'proprietary' specification in names of 'giving customer more choices'. It indeed limites your choice compare to the vast after market support for 'standard' Rem 700 SA / LA actions, and will end up costing you more.
Am I missing something? Why does the anTi logo have the Titanium periodic symbol in it? Even has the square around the Ti which implies that it's made out of titanium, but there's none to be found. Only boring 416SS 😂 That's kind of misleading.
That’s the point. It’s saying anti-titanium. Defiance doesn’t like titanium for actions so they made a steel action as light as all the other brands titanium actions
MDT ACC Premier and XLR Element 4.0 have inlet for Defiance XM. I actaully dislike those 'medium action' specifications, including Defiance XM and Zermatt Medium. You choose something non 'standard', you limit your choice and end up paying more. For 'standard', I mean Rem SA and Rem LA CIP.
$1600 for basic bitch 2 lug action with 90 degree bolt life push feed, from a company that hasn’t had any shooter won any championship, I’ll go with Borden action.
I would like to build a precision rifle i can shoot 6.5prc and 7prc from the same gun. Perhaps 6.5 creedmoor as well as. Is this possibly with a Defiance action? Thanks for your time.
You're kind of mixing long action/short action with those cartridge choices. If you want these three, you'll have to buy a long action to fit the 7PRC, 6.5PRC will also be great, and the Creed should work ok in a long action. If you want an easy switch-barrel rifle, one for all three cartridges, look at the Terminus Zeus QC long action. Simple barrel swap in a couple of minutes, no barrel vise needed.
I hate when companies advertise using words like "titanium" or "Ti" when their actual product isn't even made of titanium, also the pictures of the AnTi on their website don't have the "aluminum" bolt shroud on it. that said, it does look pretty nice tho...
That's the joke. Defiance is AnTi titanium, but you get an action made of 416 that weighs about the same as a titanium action. They're not shy about telling you that it's a stainless action.
My brain is fried!!! I'm having a he|| of a time sourcing the parts I need to build a 300 PRC... especially available ones. I've deduced the need for CIP magazines and the twist rate etc. But finding an action that is LA, and accepts that CIP magazine from the MDT ACC chassis (Rem 700 LA CIP 3.850) that I purchased is proving extremely difficult. Ive been looking for at least 10 hours today and have yet to get a solid answer on any other actions that will work for me. Help? 🙏
I am in the exact same boat as you. I've decided on the MDT ACC chassis as well and can't find anything that adds up to the rem 700 footprint. If you find anything else useful please let me know. Thanks in advance.
@@carrot2851 Impact specifically notes it'll work for the CIP mag length but I couldn't find any in stock anywhere when I was shopping. I went with a Fuzion action and I'll have it Monday. You will need a barrel vice and action wrench. Then you can unscrew the barrel (they are tight), and install a pre fit. After installing you always want to check headspace with the correct go/no go gauges.

If you’re going custom get a 3 lug like Terminus, short smooth throw, good clearance from scope, you’ll never look back!
Those actions are almost as smooth as Tikka or Sako factory actions
