That is so funny that you mentioned that panel gap at the hood in the video! I was about to mention that in a comment, I noticed it right away! This car has potential, I hope in a refresh that make the headlights/taillights full LED in higher trims. I can see a little Mazda 6 maybe in that the grille is low on both cars, that’s probably it, ha. This Altima is a good looking vehicle I think. Glad I bought my 6 but this one is up there on my list of attractive sedans. Great review!

Great detailed review Nolan ! Think I will add the Altima to my test drive list. I Like the design and feature content as well as the open cabin. Recently test drove a Camry XLE V6 and found that the dash is very high making it feel claustrophobic. Also Toyota's 8 speed transmission is very lazy to shift and was irritating me before we even left the parking lot. I Drove the Mazda 6 GT Turbo at a Mazda Drive event a few weeks ago. Beautiful car. Nice torque, gorgeous interior, very refined car. Miles ahead of the Camry in my opinion. So now just need to drive the Accord and the Altima, and maybe the Maxima for good measure!
Thanks for the review. We just leased this exact car 2020 version. I LOVE the color. This is my wifes care, she wanted the blue but they didn't have it. This is the best color in my opinion. So far so good..its our 4th altima. 2009, 2014, 2017 and now the 2020/
Purchased the 2021 Altima Platinum AWD about 4 months ago. I have about 3,600 miles on it right now. I've been driving over 46 years and this is the first import purchase for me ( okay, so it's put together in Smyrna, TN ). I do love this car and I have no problem with the CVT ( so far ). I only have a few items for a wish list... I do wish that Nissan would consider giving the AWD a bit more power, but the current engine is satisfactory for daily life. And I wish that the infotainment screen didn't look like it was tacked onto the dash as an afterthought. I would also like to see a bit more LED lighting, especially outside ( tail lights and turn signals ). Lastly, can someone explain why there's such a large gap between the front fenders and the hood? Love the video. Very informative. Thanks so much!
Coming up on two years now. Have almost 20,000 miles ( 32,000 km ) on it. Still no trouble at all. Just simple oil & filter changes and tire rotations every 5,000 miles is all that I have done to it as far as maintenance goes. Added LED lighting to the interior. I drive it like an old man, but then... I am an old man. I still hate that stupid free-standing infotainment screen, but I see several automakers going that way now. I prefer the screens to look a bit more "built-in", but that's just my opinion.

Camryn, If you were in Florida I have a Red SV you could test. Anybody have any comments on the reliability on nissan altima transmissions (cvt's). I have heard some say they have issues and some say no issues. Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
It is a nice car, not really a fan of the wheels tbo. Also not sure I'm a fan of Nissan basing this car off of the Maxima. I think Nissan needs to do a better job of distinguishing it's models from one another. If I'm not mistaken, the Maxima is meant to be sporty, while the Altima is meant to be family oriented; if not economic. Great review either way, Nolan.
I love this car. I just got my Altima sv 2020..i have accord lx.2019 its sucks not fun to drive... Driver seat is so hard hurt my butt and my legs..pedal is too deep not for asian driver. Thats why i sold it after 2 months of using it. I sold it to Carmax. Then i buy my nissan altima... im very happy with my Altima SV. Thanks Nissan...
I was totally gun hoe on getting my 3rd Altima. A friend sent me a video on the newer models not lasting past 100k. IDK.. Have you heard anything. I looove the gun metallic color..
I’ve always heard bad things about their transmissions sadly. Since this was redesigned recently and the transmission was “updated” its too early to say but there’s a lot of bad news about the older ones. There are still a lot of owners who have trouble free vehicles but it’s hard to say. Depends how long you would plan on keeping it and warranty timeframe 🤷♂️
Teri Stanton the good wasn’t actually popped...they just did a poor job in fit and finish. Infiniti has this issue too. Nothing that will affect it, just a visual thing
Anybody here own a 2019 Altima? I’m considering it but worried about the CVT and it’s reliability. Been reading a lot of harsh reviews about it and I wanna know more from people who actually own it
** Nolan, great video! As for the car, not so much. I think the design is too generic, the interior is too. The AWD not being available with the turbo is a shame. I think it’s missing some equipment that should be included for the price, for example LED tail lamps and a more comprehensive safety tech list. Never been a fan of Nissan’s CVT either. The others do them much better. I always wondered what the point of having the Altima and the Maxima was. Especially when the Altima was available with the V6. As always, you know I’ve been a fan of yours since the beginning. You are very thorough. Not sure if you have a camera man or not, but the photography is spot on. The music does not bother me at all. My only suggestion I can think of is to keep working on those stingy car makers that don’t give you test vehicles. I’d love to see an Audi or two, of course Subaru (but we both know about them already), and maybe Volvo. I follow Dave as well...have been for a few years. In fact, I found you through him. Keep up the good work man! Here’s to the next 10,000! P.S. The seat would be too narrow for my legs too then!

i have the nissan altima 2005 and i'm just amazed by this no matter what, LMAO, but honestly i'm just not a fan with the push start and on have your feet press the brake to turn it on, i dont understand why this is a thing
Altima Salesperson to Customer..."Hey, take a look at our new Altima. We offer a 2.0L turbo4 with lots of punch and AWD that no one except Subaru offers in a mainstream midsize sedan!" Customer to Altima Salesperson..."Great! Sounds like you have a sale!" Altima Salesperson to Customer...."Uhhh, just one thing. You can't get both a turbo4 and AWD on the same vehicle. Could I interest you in purchasing two? I'll speak to my manager about giving you a fleet discount." This isn't the most bone-headed decision Nissan has ever made. Remember the Murano "convertible"? But it does rank right up there with the two ton plus Nissan Pathfinder with a CVT.
It’s still a piece of junk with that CVT engine. I have a 2012 #Altima #NissanAltima #Nissan with a broken transmission with 70K miles on it. There are tons of videos and class action suite against Nissan. My only request to buyers is - do your homework before you buy any Nissan with a faulty CVT transmission.
@@PrimeAutotainment "glove"? I'll have to look into that. I've been conflicted between this car, hyandai kona, or buick encore. And literally that fob MIGHT be a deal breaker. Lmao sounds crazy.
Leary XX yes lol it’s basically a little wrap that goes around it and still lets you use the buttons. . A couple brands do that. And if Nissan doesn’t there are probably some other random companies that do. If not...maybe you could create one 😉. I’ve driven the Kona before but not the Encore. The Altima definitely feels a step above the Kona...but is also more expensive in most trims if you have any questions about anything I’d be happy to help anyway I can 👍
Teri Stanton not in the US at least. The S gets automatic emergency braking, the SR adds blind spot and rear cross traffic alert, but the lane keeping, radar cruise and things like that are on SV and up 😕

I think Nissan needs to do a better job of distinguishing it's models from one another. If I'm not mistaken, the Maxima is meant to be sporty, while the Altima is meant to be family oriented; if not economic. Great review either way, Nolan.
I know what you mean! Thank you very much!
How to go on screen menu ( apps) option
I was totally gun hoe on getting my 3rd Altima. A friend sent me a video on the newer models not lasting past 100k. IDK.. Have you heard anything. I looove the gun metallic color..
I’ve always heard bad things about their transmissions sadly. Since this was redesigned recently and the transmission was “updated” its too early to say but there’s a lot of bad news about the older ones. There are still a lot of owners who have trouble free vehicles but it’s hard to say. Depends how long you would plan on keeping it and warranty timeframe 🤷♂️
As long as you change the fluid and filter in the CVT according to manual recomendations you should not have any problems.
I have 421k on my 2016 altima and 148k on my 2019 altima...
How can u think the good is up when you're in the car? Wouldn't you have a warning sign in the cabin of the vehicle? #JustSayin!
Teri Stanton the good wasn’t actually popped...they just did a poor job in fit and finish. Infiniti has this issue too. Nothing that will affect it, just a visual thing
Anybody here own a 2019 Altima? I’m considering it but worried about the CVT and it’s reliability. Been reading a lot of harsh reviews about it and I wanna know more from people who actually own it
Just got the SV trim model Sunday. 5k miles too early to tell but its a smooth and quiet ride.
Very nice care.thank you

Nolan, great video!
Thank you for your ongoing support and feedback. I always appreciate seeing your comment pop up! I entered your name, but it wasn't drawn. If people don't get back to me about winning, I will re-draw for those spots. Next time! Thanks for your support!
Prime Autotainment No worries man. Glad to give my support. Glad you look forward to my two cents! Haha

Favorite it’s a real test and not a sheet read
Intro music 👍 background music 👎
You pretty much cover them all.
I hope that works
Thank you Dan! I entered your name, but it wasn't drawn. If people don't get back to me about winning, I will re-draw for those spots. Next time! Thanks for your support!
This new Altima is just missing a direct shift AT. I don't like the CVT. Thanks.
I feel the same way!
i have the nissan altima 2005 and i'm just amazed by this no matter what, LMAO, but honestly i'm just not a fan with the push start and on have your feet press the brake to turn it on, i dont understand why this is a thing
Hmm...I have dual climate zones with the base model of the Maxima w/leather knee cushions.
Yeah the Maxima is a step up from this in any trim 🙂
But Teri that Maxima just can't compare with my Altimas AWD. Just barely into winter and the AWD is coming in handy up here in South Dakota.
CVT or Automatic?
Dumb comment
Altima Salesperson to Customer..."Hey, take a look at our new Altima. We offer a 2.0L turbo4 with lots of punch and AWD that no one except Subaru offers in a mainstream midsize sedan!" Customer to Altima Salesperson..."Great! Sounds like you have a sale!" Altima Salesperson to Customer...."Uhhh, just one thing. You can't get both a turbo4 and AWD on the same vehicle. Could I interest you in purchasing two? I'll speak to my manager about giving you a fleet discount."
This isn't the most bone-headed decision Nissan has ever made. Remember the Murano "convertible"? But it does rank right up there with the two ton plus Nissan Pathfinder with a CVT.
I wont have a nissan altima with pro ploit assist
Hate the wheels and the hood gap
Me too
There is space between you and the door because of the side airbags...are u sure you're a Nissan connoisseur?
Lol I wouldn’t say connoisseur but I’ve been in many vehicles with side air bags that have wider seats
😊
It’s still a piece of junk with that CVT engine. I have a 2012 #Altima #NissanAltima #Nissan with a broken transmission with 70K miles on it. There are tons of videos and class action suite against Nissan.
My only request to buyers is - do your homework before you buy any Nissan with a faulty CVT transmission.
Dang I’m sorry to hear that! ☹️
Am I thee only one that thinks the key fob is hideous?
I’m not a fan either. It works to put in your pocket easily but just looks cheap and weird lol
@@PrimeAutotainment Exactly! Honestly a fob circa 2003. 🙉
Leary XX yea seriously. If you really wanted...you could probably get a leather “glove” for it. Dress it up a little lol
The Altima definitely feels a step above the Kona...but is also more expensive in most trims if you have any questions about anything I’d be happy to help anyway I can 👍
I test drove this car the CVT is absolute trash!
I absolutely would prefer literally any other transmission choice lol
Not at all, if CVT was trash then Altima and other CVTs would not sell in such large numbers
That Fcking CVT... if they gave it a regular transmission it would be close to perfect
Seems like a nice sedan, the clown is clueless
I never said it wasn’t…
Soo Nissan does not provide all safety features on all Altimas's 🤔🤔🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️😏😏?
Teri Stanton not the base “S” model...most become standard on SV trim
@@PrimeAutotainment Is there an option to upgrade the Base model?
Teri Stanton not in the US at least. The S gets automatic emergency braking, the SR adds blind spot and rear cross traffic alert, but the lane keeping, radar cruise and things like that are on SV and up 😕
Man I hate the key fob lmao
The CVT is a hunk of junk.
It has no room in this car
Never buy this junk toy anymore, unless you don't mind to see service very often.
I think it's suck
