Thanks for watching! See for full detailed review here: ua-cam.com/video/yomwABRUbOg/v-deo.html What are your thoughts on the Altima and how does it compare to Accord, Camry, Mazda6?
I've had my new Altima Platinum AWD for four weeks now and yesterday I drove it on the highway for the first time. I was very impressed by the way this car operated ,, I did stay away from the " ProPilot Assist " ,, not too comfortable with that technology at least not at the moment. I found the 2.5 engine very capable and for those of you that don't care for the CVT I found the gear shifting smooth and barely noticeable, I liked it. I moved into the passing lane to overtake a truck going up a grade, the car just flew by the truck ,, excellent acceleration when I needed it. I'm delighted with my choice of vehicle, I did negotiate a very good deal at my Nissan dealership, my Altima is loaded and it came with a very nice Winter wheel package and I really love that colour ,, Sunset Drift ,, great job Nissan !!
I've had the 2019 Nissan Altima Platinum AWD for 3 months now. I love it. I love the gas mileage, the styling, and the technology. I like the tablet screen because it looks cool and it's also more practical to have the Navigation screen basically in your eye of vision as you drive. Also the D shaped steering wheel looks really cool. I get compliments on my car because it really catches the eye with the Pearl White paint with the piano black accents and 19" wheels.
In an era where the good ol’ reliable family sedan is becoming a thing of the past, in favor of crossovers and SUVs, having a sedan with AWD is a very smart move. Beautiful car!
I will never fully understand people’s hate on nissans CVT. My 2010 altima made it to 248,000 miles flawlessly before getting it totaled in an accident. My current 2014 maxima is already at 190,000 miles and I have had no issues at all. People can bash the CVT all they want, but Nissan has been doing them for longer than any other manufacturer and it shows. They inspired almost every other company to make the switch to CVTs. I do understand the desire for automatics and the dual clutches for sport trims that offer a better driving experience. But at the end of the day I wouldn’t choose any other manufacturer when it comes to CVTs as Nissan has shown their great stride in perfecting it.
I have an Altima SR and am really disappointed of the agencies in the Middle East ( I live in Dubai). I didn’t get Apple car play nor the larger gauge screen. Am missing also the blind spot and automatic braking on reverse as well as missing the front parking sensors. But honestly as a previous Altima owner ( had the 2016 2.5 SV), the car has upgraded both interior and exterior. Also the new smoke orange color is SO AMAZING. The fuel economy is better and the response of the gear and engine are amazing.
Great Job Nolan I love my 2019 Altima SR Despite people hating the CVT I actually don’t mind it It feels more like an automatic If you want shifts points get the Infiniti lol Which I am working on in the future !!!
I just bought a 2022 Altima Platinum, LOVE IT! And the Sunset Drift colour is awesome! My one complaint is that although there is a spot to put a phone, it's not a cordless charging station! I know there are two charging ports, but still! A heads-up display on the Platinum or Midnight trims, would have been a nice extra too. I did toy with the idea of getting the Maxima, but it doesn't have all wheel drive and living in Canada, that is a bonus, (and our street rarely gets ploughed in the winter), I loved the extra power, but not so much the fuel economy, nor the extra $10,000 price tag!
I don't own one but I had a rental for about 10 days and being shorter (5'-6"), I love those seats!! They are slightly shorter in depth than other sedans which means the seat isn't digging into the back of my leg. These seats are also super comfortable! However, the passenger seat on the base model is set extremely low and there is no adjustment to raise it. The only seat adjustment on the passenger seat is to adjust the back of the seat.
@@alejandrogallegos5812 80,000 miles later no issues, i drive this thing tons! The only issue that ive had so far is the forward collision sensor went bad but it was still under warranty, im guessing tho it was due to the place i live has rough roads, i cross an international border on a daily basis and roads are not as nice as in the states but again no complaints so far hope that helps
One thing that annoys me with the Altima is the lack of QI-wireless charging, almost all of the competitors have it as standard on their top trims, but it’s not even optional on the Altima, which blows because the car is very well equipped otherwise.
I know what you mean about the seat bottoms. I noticed it the first time I test drove a 2020 Altima. I didn't notice it as much the second time. For what it's worth, the Mazda 6 is much worse for that. Its seats feel even narrower and are very uncomfortable.
The only thing I like about Nissan products are their sound systems. They look somewhat okay exterior wise. I would not ever invest in a Nissan that’s just my preference. Great review Nolan 👍
Uploaded this vid on my birthday!!!! Looking to buy a new car and if they made the turbo version AWD I would buy it outright on the spot. Live in Pennsylvania and as you said I would usually go with suv type vehicles but want something different now.
29 MPG where on city or highway? Bcs if highway V6 Maxima will do 35MPG. All Altima are front wheel Dr and all wheel is option, there is no Altima with rear wheel dr.
I agree that there should be an option for a trad trans, at least for the first two trims, maybe. However, even though I'm not a fan of cvts, having owned one from Nissan in the past, I have to say they are the best in class so far from Nissan, imo.
In upstate NY and other similar areas in this region, you can get the Altima with just FWD. It baffles me how many people opt for the high end trims over AWD up here. It’s not like the higher trims (like SL, Platinum) are that much nicer than the lower trim levels (S, SR and SV), and people don’t tend to run snow tires around here.
He said the steering wheel feedback isnt that great but I have found the opposite. I find the steering response to be very exceptional and the turning radius for a full size sedan is probably the best in its class.
Interesting pros and cons Nolan. Lovely metallic red Altima in your footage. Very classy. I used to dislike the tablet but having got a Tucson, I can see how practicable it actually is to use.
I own a former rental 2019 S model and can verify the differences between the earlier builds and the remake. I agree the CVT was redone and it's different from the previous generation. I rented a 2015 SR model and it was a slate grey beast with sport shift paddle on the shifter. Plus you didn't know the CVT changed ratios unless you really leaned into it. The 2019 CVT was redone for several reasons, including longevity and durability. By design CVT's are fragile in comparison to the conventionals, including standard shifters. So my educated guess is Nissan was forced to derate the engines (eliminate the V6, prevent the turbo from being part of the AWD series) and go with another CVT design that was more durable, but it still has the inherent issues. This new CVT appears to be doing as what they designed it to be and do, but the seamless shifting will be missed. If anyone does posts in forum threads about hopping up the engines, DON'T! You'll turn your CVT into confetti and that will be an expensive repair or replacement. You might as well buy another car. This is a cruiser, period. If you don't want it, get something else. Don't kill this fine sedan just because. The radio made by Bose is a hunk of junk. It took three visits before the dealerships got it together they needed firmware updates. They seemed to be hesitant about updating the radios for reasons unknown. My guess is it was not a job that would pay them any money, since it was a TSB. My wish list includes a Pioneer or similar L-DIN type radio with fresh speakers all around. It ought to be fun. The other issue is the rear door lock control box. It died after only 41K miles on it. If it were not for the warranty package I had gotten when I purchased it, it would have set me back about 800 dollars for the job. The last one seems to be an outstanding issue for this years model is the windshield foam gasket all around the glass. Just take a paint stir stick and shove it back in place. Oh, and when you swap your lamps out for LED's pay attention to the tag lights. They are sealed with a foam gasket and will rip to shreds when you open it up.
It's sad that In other countries you can get all those features with the altima but for some reason they really tried to push maxima sells here By not offering those features 2 the north American market.
Definitely looks great but I am not a big fan of the Turbo. I would rather a V6 and the CVT is fine with me but requires a lot of maintenance to get high mileage out of it.
Fantastic lol, same here! Crashes my first car...then got more cautious...then since I’ve moved to Texas with all of the other crazies I’ve become one of them lol
Hey Sexy! Oops I mean Nolan ;) I think the Altima is missing out because of limiting the choices of options and upgrades like you said NO V6 which was a gem of an engine. And the AWD sets this apart from most main Stream Sedans and to not get it with the upgraded Engine is a pity. Maybe next video you can wear just a tank top. I mean it must be getting Hot Over their in the Lone Star State, haha
Well they are technically different class vehicles but quite similar. The Altima can give you more power with its 2.0 turbo but the civic will get great MPG. The Altima is a little bigger overall but civic is still somewhat spacious for its size. The Altima seems quieter and a bit more solid feeling but I would probably go with the civic. Test drive both and one will probably win you over 😁
Looks like they dropped the S AWD model for the 2021 model year. Guess they’re getting smart on us. There are still 2020 S AWD models on lots for me to go after, for now...
I'm a current owner of the previous generation. I will never buy this car again. @59,000 The CVT transmission fail, luckily it was replaced for free. It's a good looking car,but the CVT transmission is garbage.

I’m considering buying a 2019 Nissan Altima. But I do have to agree about their cvts they have been trash in the past. I’m sure you do review other brands but hey all and all I loved your review it was done very well

If nissan doesnt get rid of that boring gauge cluster! Its almost 2020. Have yall seen the 2020 sonatas technology? Or the accords gauge cluster? Nissan needs to up their game. There are so many competitors out here. Handsome car but it's a no for me.
Well if that's the case then no one would be buying so many Altimas, Rogues and Qashqais. Do your research properly before making such a huge negative comment
@Brian Waller I know very well about CVTs, been in car business for 15 years. Call it crap, junk or rental car: Altima is the 3rd best selling midsize sedan in the US behind Camry and Accord. It outsells Sonata, Optima, Mazda 6, Malibu, Fusion, Legacy etc

If nissan doesnt get rid of that boring gauge cluster! Its almost 2020. Have yall seen the 2020 sonatas technology? Or the accords gauge cluster? Nissan needs to up their game. There are so many competitors out here. Handsome car but it's a no for me.
I like the simplistic gauges
Not charmed..................
i don't know why people want a fast car when you've got speed limits
Nissan makes junk. Talk to me on any car made by them in the last few years that has over 100k miles.
@@ZalmaiPashtun yea and will be filling the junk yards.
@@jagsfanrick Lol man you are pissed off with CVTs :)
I miss my ‘06 Altima. Sold it with 263k and still running great. So far my favorite car.
