I would avoid connecting 3/4 on both in & out. Sometimes soundcards are dumb on powerup (ie. Presonus Firebox) and the inputs are just preamplified and passed through to the corresponding output. That means, instant feedback on the next computer bootup.
this could also work on a lot of audio I/Os using the headphone jack, if you can assign it's output separately. depending on the interface this would be simple or difficult. pretty easy with focusrite though
Your best bet is to run an RCA cable out from the 204hd (playback output 3/4) in to the KP3 and then run the line out of the KP3 to the inputs of the 204hd with an RCA to 1/4" cable. Change your I/O settings of the track you want to affect the kp3 with so it goes to the playback 3/4 outputs and then create a new track for line in 1/2 that's coming from the KP3. You might get some latency issues and be careful to not create a feedback loop by making sure your audio out track (playback 3/4) and your new line in track don't share the same output.
