Not quite yet, but in the future when it's nearing its completion a more in-depth review of Infdev+ from the Legacy+ trilogy would be cool. It's only on 0.4 right now, but much more is planned in the coming months. Would love to see a video on that once it's complete

I first played near the end of alpha, but got bored quickly. I haven't play regularly until Beta 1.7.3 when I found my first SMP server.
And I was a kid then, only played on my sister's laptop. I started playing more on Beta 1.7.3 because my mum brought a PC for work, and I had more time to play Minecraft. Still remember through a fog memories that dirt house on the neon green grass.

Nightmare should have been kept but made more balanced I feel. This is a weird feature that I find that is missing in modern minecraft.

Love this! This mod is worth it for those little tweaks, like mining speeds & stair drop fixes, alone! The server adjustments are huge, too.

This is the kind of thing I want to see Mojang do to the current game.
No more constant updates with a bunch of new things nobody asked for. I want them to fix and polish the game as it exists now. I was them to *finish* the current game.
After fixing all the bugs, unfinished features, etc, *then* they can focus again on adding new things.

I've never used these beta mods, as I enjoy the extra building blocks in modern minecraft, but this is probably better than better than adventure because you can actually use mods with it

@@minty360_From what I remember, pre-forge minecraft gets really buggy if you try and add even a handful of mods sometimes. I think this was one of the primary reasons forge got popular was because it made dealing with multiple mods not as much of a nightmare.
I never really played the beta, but gosh you make it sound so interesting I might try it through this mod some of these days
I didn't actually play a lot of newer minecraft, but I can still see what the beta experience is about. See there is no end or ender dragon to kill, the nether is desolate and to me not very interesting, no structures bar the funny dungeon cubes, but that's kind of the point.
I think what really saves it for me is the world generation cause it's so bizzare that it actually feels like there is something to explore. Lots of sharp cliffs and floating landmarks.
You just go about your days, and eventually you think maybe this day one shack isn't really cutting it anymore, so you go out to gather materials and build something. Your caves are far from your base so you think of ways to create railroads for fast travel. You may find yourself lost in the flow of these thoughts cause there is no boss to kill nor structures to exploit, no set goal to distract you. It's not for everyone but it's such a different experience that I think it's worth trying out just for the hell of it.
@@mad_scientist5597 My thoughts exactly! I would miss the current Nether because nowadays it feels more like its an "Upside-Down" dimension than just generic hell: its warped and full of bizarre somewhat unnatural biomes and I really love it as it is.
But ngl I feel that since the End, Ender Dragon, the other bosses and special items like the Totem of Undying the game's focus (and by extension, the player's) shifted towards 'finishing' the game, defeating bosses and colleting such special items and gear...
Personally I feel it would be better if The End and Ender Dragon didnt exist, or at least, weren't some kind of final boss and endgame. This way there would be no point in 'finishing the game', and Minecraft is a sandbox first and foremost so I feel any sort of endgame is detrimental to the experience. I'm not oposed to a focus on combat gear and mechanics but when you have so many magical and formidable gear and itens that are primarily useful on combat situations it kind of takes away from what mining and crafting (you know, the game's namesake) could be, with more specialized items that deepens this aspect of gameplay. Imagine having specialized gear that helps you survive (as in, surviving the natural elements and dangers) deeper and for longer periods of time, that aids you in both extracting and processing materials, such that you end up feeling the need to build a mine of sorts (like a medieval or XVII century mine in terms of tech and style) to make this easier and more survivable.
I sometimes wonder how many new items and gear we could have if, instead of simply enchanting them, you needed specific tools (made with specific materials) to achieve the same effects.
Thats the kind of MC I'd like to experience some day... Sorry for rambling lol
@@odi_walkerhaha no need to apologize for rambling, I'm always the one who starts it anyways. I haven't been so invested in sandbox games or games overall lately so I don't really have an opinion of my own on what I would want from Minecraft, but what you say sound pretty cool.
Maybe Minecraft could go the way Terraria has. If you don't know, Terraria has a bunch of items (mostly accessories) that "buff" your building abilities like placement speed, max distance, allows you to see a grid etc. in a way that is very convenient to the builder but could be disruptive or just so fast as to be silly for a combat oriented player. Terraria allows you to combine accessories, so at the end, you may have a few items that do the job of maybe a dozen or two, but then again that itself creates a sort of goal to strive for, or a situation where you don't feel like building cause you don't have all the items so it would be inefficient and so on, making you go get them which might not be what you want to do (Terraria doesn't have a true creative mode). So maybe it's not such a good idea lol.
it would be cool if your server transferred over to this mod tbh but part of the fun is that its just on a base build of the game
You should give the Millenaire mod a shot for Beta 1.7.3. It was seriously impressive back in the day and made the world seem more alive.

Saw you come on the server one time while I was working on my project. Asked if you wanted to tpa over to see what I was doing, but you left before responding. Also now wondering if perhaps this mod will be added to the PaladinRyan SMP server since it seems to be quite stable.
I still like Better than Adventure more.
This isn't an alternate timeline mod -_- it's just meant to fix bugs while still being pretty much vanilla 1.7.3

This mod in the video is just a patch for 1.7.3 to make the game a better and more comfy experience while still being pretty much no different than vanilla 1.7.3. BTA is nothing like vanilla 1.7.3. Now, allow me to prove the BTA is, in fact, not an alternate timeline mod. By your definition, the mod in the video would also be an alternate timeline mod, as it also ignores the existence of later versions and instead chooses to add to Beta 1.7.3 instead, exactly like BTA. BTA is not an “alternate timeline” mod, it is just a mod, that adds stuff. I’m not sure how it is any different from mods for modern versions of the game, which just like BTA, also add stuff. I guess by your definition, an alternate timeline mod is whatever mod is made for an old version of the game (?). So, following that logic, so is the mod in the video.
@@grandmasteryoda6717 BTA is literally as if the game took an entirely different direction from the adventure update (BASICALLY AN ALTERNATE TIMELINE WHERE BTA WAS THE UPDATE INSTEAD OF THE ADVENTURE UPDATE) adding brand new features and overall changing the entire vibe of the game. Back2Beta doesn't add a plethora of new features to beta 1.7.3 as if it were an entire update. It merely patches a few bugs and makes a few small adjustments to make it easier to play without really changing anything and keeping it still feeling just like you're playing regular beta 1.7.3. Back2Beta might as well be just as small as optifine. BTA is like an entire update from an alternate timeline if the game were to go a completely different direction than the adventure update so YES BTA IS AN ALTERNATE TIMELINE MOD AND BACK2BETA IS NOT! CASE CLOSED!

It looks nice but I'm liking better than adventure more at the moment, because of its additions. It feels like a continuation of old Minecraft.

You know, this project makes me realize why I dirfted away from MInecraft. It just got... too much for the base game. Modpacks and the like filled the need for additional content and expansions pretty well, but the core game itself was easy to pick up and understand. Now it just feels... very bloated, and more like a semi-generic RPG/fantasy world then anything else.
Do wooden slabs still not burn like full blokcs or was that one of the things patched?
Another one added to the pile of mods I need to try.

I think it'd be a good thing if it worked as intended - nightmares waking you up if you're sleeping somewhere unsafe - but spawning a monster in your home was annoying.
I think it's for the best that it's gone, ultimately.

One of these days you're going to run out of mods and will be forced to subject yourself to the original alternate timeline, Better than Wolves. Although that mod is going to update to release 1.6.4 sometime and with it comes the 1.14 textures for some reason, so no idea if it'll fit in with this channel.

No offense, but I wanna create a mod that "ruins" beta by implimenting ALL the features from modern minecraft, however, despite the mod changing height and depth like modern mc (which I like, brazy) I wanna keep the terrain generation and add in some of C418s unused music from volume beta & volume alpha
God finally, there you go, atleast THIS mod actually does something as supposed - it fixes and improves an already well made base in ways that does not screw with it, Ive played all kinds of versions, and even BTA, and BTA's claims of being "Better than adventure update" is nothing more than gagillion mods slapped ontop of Beta 1.7.3.
On the other hand - some fixes like stairs not dropping themselves, or wooden slabs not using the right material were bearable, but the fact that they changed it to more adequate state is good nonetheless, so long as the author keeps that balance in mind and simply improves the game without slapping weird blocks, items, structures etc - it *will* rock.
