Don't just quit because you feel that you can't do good. It takes a long time to improve, but if you love what you do, then you'll eventually improve. If you love making music, then just make it. Don't focus on how good it is; that just comes with time. When I first started making music, I was in awe by what others could do, and found myself in a similar position, thinking that I could never be as good as them. But now, even when I'm still not as good, I know that I still have many years to go before I even reach the amount of time they've been producing for. If you love making music, then you'll naturally put in the effort if you continue with it. My question for you; do you love making music?
legit as someone who used to hate making music, loving the process of just doing is how to get good comparing yourself vs years of practice hurts a lot
@@acorn861 Glad it helped! Seriously though, for the vast majority of music producers (myself included), there's a point in your journey where you feel like giving up, and a lot of music producers quit at that point; but if you keep pushing through to get past that, you'll probably find yourself not only loving what you do, but finally loving what you make. There's a channel called EDMProd that has a video called "The 5 Stages of an Electronic Music Producer," and I highly recommend you watch that, because it really helped me get past that dip.
I do already have a tutorial, but it's really just pointers to help you get started, not a full tutorial, since there isn't really any one way to approach this style of music. I might make a better tutorial soon though, which is gonna break down my upcoming song.
there is a lot of high end in comparison to the low-end, very lacking in sub-bass. The dubstep basses have a bit too much delay on them, and sound very wet
yeah IIRC I fixed those problems (except for the dubstep basses being wet, that was just a stylistic choice on my part, because I liked the sound) in the final version, although I'd like to see what you think. Full song should be in the pinned comment, so I'd appreciate it if you could check that out and provide a little feedback.
been a while, but i remember that i layered some crunches, passed it through ott + distortion, bounced it, added eq, and adding more layers its like a hardstyle kick, but with much less sub, so you might have to add the sub into the kick separately depending on how it turns out
For the vocals, I use Synthesizer V by Dreamtonics, and Solaria by Eclipsed Sounds, both of which have free versions which I used for this (I am considering buying it, since the full versions have a lot more features). Serum is used really heavily, also a little bit of Vital. Vital is a free alternative to Serum, both are good VSTs and are fully capable of making majority of the sounds here Some samples I made (like the hardcore kick), others are from a variety of sample packs. One I find especially useful is KSHMR Samples Vols. 3 and 4. As for the effects side, I use a sausage fattener patcher clone on the basses. I made a full video on the color bass section, but basically, it's just Pitchmap and Rezonator with a limiter. I hope this helps!
@@sleepy-neko oh yeah that was a little clickbaity, but i just combine vocaloid, synth v, etc. under the umbrella term of vocaloid, just because vocaloid is more synonymous with vocal synthesizers. sorry if you were expecting something else though.
