My heart stopped just for a moment when that car driver in the Saab started to pull out in front of you. You reacted quickly. Well done. Loved the post. Cant wait for the next one.
ahahaha yeh, my heart stopped at the time too!!!!!
I toured Ireland when I was 14 with my dad on his 79 bonneville he rebuilt. One of my happiest memories with him. Cant wait to give my kids the same experiences (we also had the rat packs :) )
ah what a wonderful memory
Good effort and 10/10 for spontaneity on this one! 😁😁 As a chap aged the other side of 55 myself, I long for those long forgotten days when I could sleep on the floor of a cross channel Ferry without the need of medical assistance to get up again! 🙄 I'll be watching out for next Sunday's edition!
You're not missing anything, the floor was mega gross
@@SaffySprocket 🤢🤢🤣
Sorry to hear that. I am the wrong side of 67, but I'm still game to sleep on the floor if it gives the chance to go on a bike trip!
Sleeping on the ferry floor tip….I used to take out the back protector and lay that under my hips as I slept on my side😴
Ireland is one of my most favorite places, lived there from the states for about 3 months a few years ago. The landscape is gorgeous boarding epic but the phenomenal people there make the place wondrous. With that said, traffic in Dublin is what made me loose most of my hair. Keep riding, more importantly keep living that no regrets life.
Honestly, the people are insanely kind
Thank u brother for the kind words on our wee island. Door's always open for our 🇺🇸 brethren
@@SaffySprocket if you've the aid Atlantic way on yer scope again look us up. I'll point you in the right direction
Nice to see you passed through my home town waterford..
In Ireland N is novice driver, similar to a R plate in N.Ireland (restricted) you have to display it for 2 years after passing your test. MPH tp KPH divide MPH by 5 and multiply answer x3. Love it that you completely winged it.
Ahahha yeh! I had never heard of it before
You mean mph divide by 3 and multiply by 5.
Another great video.
The best adventures are the ones that haven’t been planned. Ireland is gorgeous too . Hope you had fun 😊
I did! and Thank you so much :D
Well done on your trip, I do this journey by bike about three times a year, but travelling in the opposite direction, my biggest tip would be to book yourself a cabin for your trip on the Ferry, they're not expensive and you can have a comfortable rest as well as a shower before setting off on the next leg of your journey, much nicer than a dirty floor....
Priceless, you do make me chuckle. Last minute trips with little planning are often the best ones. Even the ad at the start had me chuckling, and that never happens. Can’t wait for the next instalment and to see what chaos ensues. Keep up the brilliant content.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Looking forward to seeing the rest of these videos, Ireland may well be my next trip.....loving the way you are just 'winging' this one too
Best way! 🤣🤣🤣
Well you are off on a true adventure! Thanks for taking us along again.
Thank you so much ❤️ glad you enjoyed the video
Good for you, my family are in Wexford, Dublin to Kinsale is quite a journey.
Oh how i wish i had been cruising through Dublin that day, lol. I could at least have sent you in the right direction. Great vid, can't wait for the next one
You just have to love Saffy. You are heading in the right direction and Bantry bay is a really lovely area good food and drink and lovely people.
Thank you so much and yeh I wish I had more time to explore Ireland to be honest 😭🙏
An unplanned riding adventure from Saffy? Off course we're not going to miss it, starting with this 1st episode. Can't wait for more, well done Saffy! 👍👍
You weren’t sleeping like a pauper…..you were sleeping Squaddie Style😁
🤣🤣🤣🤣 gotta sleep where you gotta sleep 😴😴😴😴😴
Thank you for making such a fun video. You're very brave setting off with almost no planning!! And then managing to be calm enough to sleep on the boat.
That was the The Irish sea you were crossing not the Atlantic, that would have been a very long journey! You'll love Ireland, have a ball. You'll have to get used to the tractors. Should be able to change your digital speedo to Kph, Approx values 30mph =50 kph, 40mph =60kph, 50mph=80kph, 60mph =100kph and 75 =120 kph. N is for Novice driver, same as the P plate in the UK. Enjoy
Saffy that's the best way to do a trip decide on the last minuet you think to long on it you keep finding reasons not to go ! Never lose your Enthusiasm its so refreshing 👍👍 Ride Safe
So true!
Lovely video Saffy & Mr Sprocket. I'm looking forward to your next video 🥳
Thank you so so so much :D
Just discovered your channel, excellent how you just do stuff on the spur of the moment, great vid I really enjoyed it so much I've subscribed to your channel so I don't miss any more uploads, all the best.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks and welcome
The adventure begins, three days to get lost and one day to find a way home.
Saffy gives new meaning to "round-a-bout" to find the farm. Glad you had a fun beginning!
Take care and have a sunny week ahead.
Thank you so much!!!!
@@SaffySprocket And thank you for being you and sharing real life with us Saffy
Great to see you coming over to Ireland saffy as that is where I'm from really looking forward to nexts weeks video to see how you get on and hopefully you got to ride some of the wild Atlantic way and injoy what Ireland has to offer bikes
Don't get too excited 😅 the trip went very very very badly
😩😩😩 that doesn't sound to good
There's no holding you back Saffy whatever. Always look forward to your next video and what you will be getting up to next. Great stuff.
love your spirit of adventure and spur of the moment decisions. That's the sort of stuff I do. It makes things much more exciting when you don't plan. looking forward to the next episode.
Thank you so much!!!!
I recently started watching your vlogs and the adventure is calling to me. I passed my bike test in January and have my dream bike now and so excited to go exploring with her. Sadly no spurr of the moment trips I can see due to having a little but definitely had some wake up have a free day lets explore though I end up time watching. Have a trip to Wales planned though and by that I mean I have booked it off work, have someone for my little and that's as far as I've got.
Loved this video Saffy, getting lost at the road works 3 times I laughed at that,I done the same thing ,you convince yourself I going the right way but end up back were you are glad I wasn't alone lol, Rocket was thinking what are we doing been down this way before, you both do so so well Rocket getting on Adventures and home safe and sound, and yourself being bald and giving it ago showing all your videos, you both lift the spirits of your sprockets my name for fans of you and Rocket, stay safe thank you again 😀 😊 x
Ahahahahaha it proper annoyed me 😅😅😅
Never been to Ireland before. Looking forward to these episodes! Looked like you had some trip there after the ferry, haha! It is all part of the adventure
Oh man, the trip goes all down hill from here 🤣😭😭😭
Great video Saffy loving your let’s just go for it approach 😆 your sense of direction is part of your charm and the extra miles and the extra hours just make it👍
I wonder if I'll ever get anywhere on time
N plate = New drivers. Just passed their test,
There is a way to change your digital speedo to Kilometers, pressing and holding one or two of the buttons on the dash
The tractor, well, it's Ireland.
I'll have to have a look on how to change my speedo ahaha
It was a construction site digger, not a tractor. But, well, you're English.
Glad you found safe harbour for the night Saffron , done that ferry trip on the bike a few times, I always find it disorientating , best thing is to get off the ferry, find a cafe, drink coffee and regroup, give yourself time to sit and think what next, I think there should be a thing called ferry lag.
Thanks for the tip! I certainly think it was a bit disorientating to go from napping on the floor to hitting Dublin
N plates on a car stands for Novice, N plates have to be displayed on your car for first 2 years after passing driving test
Ooooh I thought it was like an L plate
Your first impressions of Ireland (MPH to KPH, what's a N plate) remind me of a friend who after coming back from a holiday in Spain was traveling to Dublin the next week. So took their "Spanish euros" to the post office to get them changed for "Irish euros". To be honest I probably wouldn't have taken my passport.
Ahahahhahah, please tell me you bullied him with a ridiculous name like EuroSpan after that
Really enjoyed that. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Close call with that white car good braking . Your ferries are bigger than are ferries here on the BC west coast . Keep up the great job !!
So true 😂😂😂😂
I just found Your channel, Looks like a nice place to visit. Be safe
❤️ welcome aboard
I think you'll find that was the Irish Sea rather than the Atlantic. Well done on the vlog.
Always nice to watch. Keep it up. :)
Thank you :D
Planned to take my bike to irland next week and happened to hit on this video as part of my preparations. Saffy, honestly you made it literally easy for me with your vlogging skills. And must say, 6:38 - 6:50 made me laugh loud. 😄
Good fortune on the road Saffy 🏍️
Thank you :D
Awesome as always.
Thank you so much 💓
great video Saffy
Thank you so much!!!!
Next time your in southern Ireland let me know will met for a coffee. Brilliant video as always
Well done saffy you are so fearless great video look forward to part 2 xx❤
Thank you so much :D
@@SaffySprocket ❤
Hi Saffy, some years back I read Jupiter’s Travels by Ted Simon,he travelled on a Triumph Tiger in 45 countries from 1973 to 1977 (also did a follow up journey)also an audio book.A brill window into what the world was like then.Bless all adventurers and vloggers.❤️
I havent but I'll have to check it out
FairPlay you are raving!!😂😂🏴, Keep up the good work.
🤣🤣🤣 thank you so much 💓
Your a absolute star Saffy, at least you have the bottle to travel on your own, can’t wait to see what happens on rest of you journey. Fingers crossed that your way home is quicker 🤣🤣
ahahahah it doesn't go well, I won't lie
@@SaffySprocket aww Saffy, don’t spoil it, I’ve faith in you 👍
Congrats on becoming one of 3 motovloggers that I drop everything I'm doing in order to see ur latest video. I'm shipping my bike over the pond next spring to explore all my ancestors stomping grounds. England, Ireland and Scotland. Keep laughing Saffy!!!
You quite clearly don’t know anything about the UK, there’s some good roads in Wales, a country on the left of England if you want to get your map out.
Thank you so so so much!
Love the cheery music you use in you videos😁
Thanks 😁
This was fun I smirked at your add read 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
You were really lucky with the crossing and looks nice weather for you 🤞 The South West of Ireland is definitely the best and I'm glad in away that I'm not the online that gets lost which doesn't matter when you on your own 🤣 Stay safe and enjoy 😊
Totally agree!
Kinsale is a beautiful little town. Bought my now wife’s engagement ring there in 1998 when we were staying near Timoleague.. Suzuki RF 900RR at the time. Good days👍🏻
Very cool!
I presume you have a headset in your helmet. So you know the lady from Google that's talking to you telling you to turn around or get off at the next junction? Listen to her, she knows what she's doing! 😆
Yes! Unfortunately I have APD so there's a delay between me hearing instructions and processing the instructions, often leading to many wrong turns :) easiest way to explain it, is to imagine your first language is your second language, and how you need time to physically heat words, then decrypt what those words mean
Aww Saffy, is it wrong that I wait in anticipation of where or when your next saffiness will occur in your vlogs?😅🤪well done again on a great watch for a Sunday evening. Bring on next week 🙏🏍😎🤗
😅 thankyoU!
Laughed my butt off seeing you getting lost the second you got off the ferry oh saffy have you not learned by now lmao. Can't wait for the next episode
I wonder if I ever will ahahaha
Last time I went to Ireland was 2005, you've just inspired me to get back there soon...... Yeah I take wrong turns all the time, it just adds to the adventure 😀
Get it doooooooooone
L is for learner. Before you pass your full drivers test. N means you’ve passed your full drivers licence test but are still considered a Novice for 2 years and thereby need to display that 😊
We have P for pass, but it's not mandatory!
loved the video....the best motorcycle trips start with getting lost....
Yessss so true
Hey saffron ,Ireland's great isn't it ,oh and going the wrong way makes the adventure ye 👍 take care X stay safe xx 🍀
ahahaha It's a great place to visit!
Spontaneous adventures are often the best.
Aren't they just?!
Ah, the Irish tour begins.
Don't get too excited, the trip was a messssssssss
Well, you won't be the first and you won't be the last to make those mistakes so well done saffy, keep going girl you're doing ok
Ahahah too true :) thank you so much ❤️
Looky you didn't get stuck at Angley for 16 hours as we did due to bad weather earlier this year. Great to do an unplanned trip, Europe is ok unplanned go and enjoy. PS use the tunnel it is so easy.
Thanks for the tips!
Hi from Indonesia, just found your video in UA-cam and its interisting and just like it 👍 hope you always enjoy your trips
The ferry to Dublin doesn't go near the Atlantic, bless you! That one is the Irish Sea. Nice job and the NordVPN ad was terrific.
I have no idea how I manage to get lost so often
And animals good video, it's been a longtime since I slept on the floor sleeping on the ferry, certainly brought back a few memories lol 😆 looking forward to next week's video
It supposed to say another... not animals lol 😆
Thank you so much :D
ahahaha
Lovely vid. One thing, at 6:54 can we just take a moment to doff helmets to that Pan European's numberplate, featuring the best placed plate bolt in history. Ace!
Well it looks like a nice sunny day for making unnecessary detours :) Your intro was great 👍 Always make the effort to eat something at the end of the day you'll feel loads better for it.
Thank you so much 😁
Great video as always 😊
Thank you so much 💓
Thank you so much!
You Saffy, are bloody mad and you know what? I love you for it!! lol Just keep doing what you're doing! :)
ahahhaah I've heard that a few times
Well done 👏
Saffy, It's the Irish sea, you cross from Holyhead to Dublin. Bless. Stef
No clue how I get lost all the time 🥲
The Topaz station as you leave the port is good...also do a wide range of coffee from Africa ( or they used too )
Saffy, God dam it, you passed my house in Waterford. I could have put you up . Hope you enjoyed Ireland
N plates are new drivers. They have past their test and have to display the Numpty plate for 2 years. Love your outlook. Thanks for the great video
Thanks for the info
@@SaffySprocket hopefully you will get back. If you do, there is a coffee or a Guinness waiting for you in Connemara
Well done you .at least the weather was kind to ya
Thank you :D
Hey, Saffy! I've watched probably 80% of your videos the other day, and for some reason I just went on my first moto camping trip. Only 70 miles away, but definitely a new experience, it was amazing! And actually much harder than it looks, you must be paid for that much effort :D Only the straping on the luggage took me good 40 minutes :D If you think your bike is not perfect for touring and you laught now looking back at your older setup, now imagine a modern cruiser style bike with a removed pillion seat, on its place a bolter wooden base for top boxes. The top box is from an old power tool, if I have to guess around 15L +/- 2. And I just strap a big backpack on top, with bits straped to the bag. I've myself filmed the trip, might try to put a video. Cannot even imagine, the feeling to be on tips as much as you, and without any previous experience, you just jumped on the bike. Keep the good work and one day we might meet on the road! Love and peace! Martin.
Ahahah that sounds so much fun to be fair! You get much faster at loading up with every trip. I usually have certain things permanently packed up now, like my rations and TP, all permanently live inside my luggage inners, so now all I need to pack is my clothes and camera gear after its charged, throw the tent on and boom, good to go!
@@SaffySprocket Just don't keep your sleeping bag caged up all the time, or it will not give you the rated warmth.
Welcome to Ireland Saffy, when your in Sligo it would be great to meet up.
I had to laugh, we've all done this , I've been out of Dublin port lots of times and still have to concentrate so don't feel bad, they is two main routes m50 or go through the city. come out go left to a roundabout go right keep the river on your left after about a mile or so go left over a bridge then right the river now is on the right keep on this till you eventually go left on the n4 to m4. or out of port follow m50 signs, love the video content
A great vlog saffy ride safe lovely greetings from st Helens Merseyside
Thank you! You too!
@@SaffySprocket you are welcome lovely
Hi saffy you go girl sure you will be fine just enjoy the moment that's what I do lol ride safe and take care xx ❤️👍
Thank you so much 🥰😊 😊
Some of that trip looked very familiar to me... namely the A55! As far as an Ireland trip goes, I Googled the ferry prices once 😅
The fast ferry is only 2 hours, no point trying to sleep. You will likely need some waterproofs
I wasn't on the swift on the way there, it was 3 hours and I got a decent 90 minute nap in
“Bike gear in general is pretty gross”
You can wash it you know! 😉😂😂
It doesn't fit in my machine ahahaha
@@SaffySprocket lol do you have the worlds smallest machine? never mind Nord ads, you need to hook up with Bosch.
Saffrooon! Beautiful! Eire also! You are making better and better videos! Have a nice trip!
Thank you so much :D
Crossing the Atlantic!! Irish sea ha 💚
😂 I'm a dumb dumb
I am going to Bristol from Ire next week on ferry. It is daunting for me too)
It's great that you are flying by the seat of your pants, but a little planning isn't a bad thing. You will still have plenty of opportunities to hone your problem solving skills. 😄 Some of your time on the ferry could have been spent looking at a map, just so that you could get out of the city. Beyond that, knowing where you are going would allow you more time to look, and to keep yourself safe, specifically at 12:33 of your video when the car was pulling out in front of you. I know you know this, but 2 distracted vehicles is never a good thing...stay safe. I'm starting my own adventure in early March and doing only slightly more planning than you (what could possibly go wrong 🤣) I'm off to South America, but first I have to ride from Atlantic Canada through the US to get to warmer riding. I hope I don't have too much snow to ride through and have better luck with maps than your experience lol :)
Thank you so much ❤️❤️🥰❤️🥰
Very jealous! But have plucked up the courage and am going to Wales soon. (Yes on the 125 will take me hrs).
I am 50/50 whether to film due to the quality of channels like your's etc. Still might just do what I can do. (Am looking into bike covers n security and will research editing software).
Have received soo much help am blown away a bit🏴🇬🇧💪
Co.meath great place to visit loads to see.
I don't want to be a bus numpty!!! 🤣
🤣
yes we had a job getting out of Dublin until we stopped a local pizza delivery lad who led us out safe and sound
Ahhhh so kind!!!
Nice one sprocket 👍
Thank you 😊
U should only be using engine cut out switch in emergency’s. Little tip for u
Every stop is an emergency whe you're lazy 🤣🤣🤣
You must of got lucky for it not to be raining I'm from northern Ireland it's a lovely place and if you go around the coast it's nice views plus your bike would love the route if you ever decide to go there. love the videos 👍🏻👍🏻
ah man, I usually get caught out by the rain, 100% got lucky this time around
Unfortunately it rains even more in Northern Ireland.
Hope you enjoyed your trip round Ireland. If you have not been to the Isle of Man it is worth a trip. You can come when it is busy with racing or outside the racing it is nice and relaxing. Let me know and can point you in the right direction. Cheers
Isle of Man is on my to visit list! I really want to head over soon! It looks like a great place to visit
Ok please keep me posted and if you plan to visit and can do a ride out if that suits. Cheers
"Peasant Class" 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
It's the Irish Sea, not the Atlantic. The Atlantic is on the west of Ireland and is the sea that takes you to America!
I don't know how I always get so lost!
@@SaffySprocket that's half the adventure though, I suppose 😊
Using Google maps for comedy value? Try Tom Tom. Great camera work Saffy.
Its not the SatNav, I'm just not great with my left and rights ahahaha
