When it comes to riding the Grossglockner isn't the most exciting pass, but it is one with some of the best views in the whole of Austria. I've spend hours on it with my motorbike. Enjoying the views, making lots of photos etc. I am a little sad you didn't show the highest spot you can get to with a motorbike. There is a lovely restaurant up there and a little watchtower in which the amazing history of racing on the Grossglockner is explained and shown by old photographs. But!!! You go girl! Enjoy! You are doing amazing especially for such a lovely good cause! Thank you.
I didn't actually know it was there 😂 I was researching it the night before and I didn't stumble across any information. When everyone started commenting, I was like god damnit I can't believe I went all the way there and missed it
Great video. It reminds me of my first time up the Großglockner, in late Summer 1986 when I was 18. My Yamaha SR500 had almost no power left at this altitude, so I did the last two bend 1st gear full throttle. As you said "it feels so easy to breath" I could, again, smell the air up there. Back then I giggled my way up the pass road just like you, feeling like the Emperor of Austria. And I probably was as proud as you were, standing beside my bike, right on the peak of the pass road, looking down at the massive range of mountains I just climbed up. I still remember this day, but to see someone else having the same experience is really valuable for me. Thx for sharing this day with us. With me. All the best!
Saffy it's an wonderful adventure you've undertaken with just two years riding experience, but what a amazing worthy cause to be doing it for, and even though at times you have no doubt questioned your sanity for taking it on, you are creating wonderful memories. For me watching you and your genuine excitement you show with your laughter lifts my spirits. So well done young Lady you are amazing. Thank you.

Saffy , it's amazing scenery there. I was one of 200 Honda ST1100 riders, from all over Europe, who attended the Honda organised Pan European Rally to Austria in May 1995. When we reached the top of the Grossglockner, the road surface was clear and dry but there were walls of snow 10feet high on both sides. It was an amazing sight. I'm sure you will never forget the experience. Ride safely.
It's very nice to see you enjoy the Großklockner. If you ever have the opportunity to go there again. On 10:55 there's a left turn, that goes all the way up to Bikerspoint. The road up there is steep and made of gobble stones. Also a nice experience and the view just amazing. Wishing you save travels with lots of fun.
Evening Ms Sprocket. I'm doing some catch-up. I had a grin on my face while you were climbing up that road. Nice one girl 👌😁. Ride safe stay happy till next time 👍😊.
Fantastic video. Thanks for sharing. So, brave going through those twists which look icy, but what a view! I bet your bike can't believe it's luck, it thought it was going to see out it's days in a training school, now it's on adventures and seeing alpine views 🙂
Excellent video. I did the Grosglockner, Stelvio, Grimsel etc last year . . . some of the best biking I've ever done. Keep up the good work with the channel, Saffy.
Thanks, will do! 🥰 And yes, I think at the time it was so hard to take everything in, when I was editing the footage, I was like, holy f, I can't believe I rode over here!
Nice one Saffy but I can't believe you did'nt mention that one of the main reasons people go up the pass, is to go to the Glacier and have a walk on it.
Inspirational. Full stop. It's great sharing in your biking journey over time and the adventures and causes you go through. Well done and keep doing what you're doing.
Beautiful drone shots. Did you reach the summit? Its a series of very tight hairpins on a block-paving like surface. The view up there is absolutely spectacular
@@SaffySprocket The top of the Grossglockner pass is 1 hour 33 mins into this video: ua-cam.com/video/6OpryqzML4k/v-deo.html I made a few years ago. It's a pretty scary section but a great feeling getting right up to the summit. If you missed it, maybe it's a good excuse to go back someday :)
Wow Saffron, what amazing scenery, and as always loved your commentary , you have had some amazing adventures for sure, looking forward to your next post.
Looks like you will have to come back again. At 10:58 there was a left turn, that would have led to the "Edelweissspitze" - what's the highest point of the road. Just keep in mind that it's really slippery up there when it rains (old cobblestone road to the peak). You chose a good time to ride up the Großglockner. During the holiday season in summer, the traffic up there is annoying. Beside that, it's a fantastic road. But I personally prefer the "Nockalmstraße" ove the "Großglockner Hochalpenstraße". Less traffic, also fantastic landscape and a bit more fun to ride imho. Visited both roads several times on my motorbike :)

This must be my favourite part of your trip so far stunning scenery, great drone footage, and we all know that a camera doesn't do it justice. Your momentary silence on camera says it all, what you must have been feeling. Missed opertunity not trying to get a paragliding trip. The one mistake I made at the grand canyon. Roll on next week.

I think it may be a recent thing, I suspect with it becoming more and more popular, they're having to spend a lot it money doing the roads up.
