I have all my blocks ready and should be finished with top today and quilt it tomorrow. I'm not a new quilter but being I just finished Edyta Sitars Mystery quilt 2022.I needed a break from perfect points and triangles and this pattern cleared my head and I enjoyed it. thank you again
I have just discovered your channel and subscribed. Have my charm pack at the ready and this will be my first ever quilt. Love how clearly you explain what to do for us beginners
Thank you very much! I am a new subscriber. I appreciate that you have "Beginners" in your title. That helps a lot. I look forward to more Beginner Tutorials! ;0)
Easy Peasy and it looks beautiful. I love shopping online with the Sewing Studio...always such fast delivery. I was so looking forward to visiting the shop when we were due to see family in Helston but travel restrictions put paid to that! Oh well, you’ll just have to keep posting out to Edinburgh 😊
Just found your channel and LOVE this quilt. I have a charm pack of pinks and greens that will work wonderfully as a baby quilt for my new grand-daughter Eloise. Can't wait to begin it.
I have sewn two blocks with the highlight fabric but mine are .25" too long on the highlight fabric. If i have made a mustake I've only just started so easy to fix.
I have a newbie question. Please forgive my ignorance. What is the filet part for? I've not ever seen a quilt video with pieces that stick out like that so I'm just wondering what it is for. (I've only ever made one quilt top and am struggling with the actual machine quilting so I'm absolutely new, new to making quilts so my questions can be dumb sometimes. LOL!)
I don’t think you have a dumb question! We’ve thought our children(now adult) “if you don’t ask, you won’t know😀. I’ve sewn my whole life but new to quilting. I’ve understood the filet is also called a piping. It is not for any function just look, adding another or contrast to it. I’m sure you’ve seen piping on clothing. I hope this is helpful ❤️😀
@@rachelburgener819 thank you so much! It does look super pretty for sure! I want to try quilting as you go because I'm so awful at the quilting for a whole quilt. Haha! Thanks again for your feedback! I think arts and crafts communities are the nicest when it comes to asking questions and I really appreciate your response. ❤️
Oopsie after rereading I found a typo😝 *taught. Yes I to would like to try quilt as you go. I chose to tie my first one; I think🤔 free motion or stitch in the ditch just takes practice!!! Maybe try on pillow size or pot holders is my thought. BTW you are welcome ❤️😀
Hi I'm a new subscriber to your Channel I see that you were making blocks using two two and 1/2 inch strips from a charm pack have you ever seen how Jenny at Missouri Star Quilt Company does it it is quite a bit quicker and makes everything a little easier she sews all of her 5-inch squares together in one long row and then she folds them over and cuts them at two and a half and by the time you're finished you've got a bunch of 5 in or rather four and a half inch squares
I am very glad I found you. Great directions and you are left handed as well.
I could listen to you talk all day! lolI love your accent. I'm in North Carolina so I've got the southern accent going on.
I do like back you pieced with strips. Lovely.
thank you
Very nice quick block...good for leftover, stray charms for a scrappy quilt.
super good and easy for me as a beginner! thanks!

Hi Gail, Glad we could help!
Gail, can I ask, how many yards of a highlight fabric did you need for one charm pack?
@@SammiJarrad I didn’t use the whole charm pack but the teal solid was 1/2 yard
@@gailtipps834 thanks so much!!
If you take 2 of the charm squares and sew a 1/4” seam on left and right sides. Then cut in half. You would have to squares sewn at once? =)
Excellent idea!
I thought the same thing. Just remember you then will then have pairs instead of individual matches.
😲 that’s a genius idea!!
Exactly. I came here to say the same thing
I love the purple quilt. This looks so nice and easy. I'm a beginner at quilting.

You DO have a reversible baby-sized quilt. Great idea!
The back of a quilt made with scraps from the front is called an afterquilt. Lovely!
A cute pattern for even scrappy print fabric ✂️🪡
Love all your tutorials!!!!

Hi! What size ruler are you using in this tutorial?
Hello Karen sorry for the delayed reply the ruler used was 4 inch x 8 inch
Love this but I don’t know what a fillet is. Please explain.
Hello Christine, a fillet is a folded piece of fabric that is stitched into a seam with the folded edge left loose. This is often called a flange too!
I have a newbie question. Please forgive my ignorance. What is the filet part for? I've not ever seen a quilt video with pieces that stick out like that so I'm just wondering what it is for. Jenny Doan is wonderful!!! 💕
What happened to press to the dark side?
Is 1 charm pack (42 PCs) complete a baby quilt?? I’m a newbie and am subbing your channel! Thanks for your time and sharing!
Half meter in yards, feet, inches
What's the finished size?
Hi Gena You can make this pattern as big or as small as you want, but Katrinas quilt is approximately 40".
@@SewingStudio ok thank you!
There is nothing wrong with using pins.
