    I’m so glad you posted this! Mom of 3 (1 month old, 5 , 10 ) and we love the outdoors! But need some easier hikes right now and a place to camp (camper/with baby). I’m glad you pointed out there’s parking/camping/easy adventure. Also showing other areas we could go if the kids want a little more of a challenge. Thank you so much! Keep posting 😊

      Thanks Morgan. I thought Ten Mile Creek, Warm Springs, Short Creek, and this one were all equally awesome. This one though I had the most time to shoot, I had the most time to edit it, I had good weather, and it was later in the spring so everything had bloomed. Unlike Ten Creek and Warm Springs which was still really early in the season.

    Came to watch this again, this is on our list of family backpacking trails and we camped at willow creek and then drove to the trailhead to see how long it would take and to get a feel for it before our trip and holy smokes what the heck is that resort??? Hahaha I have so many questions...#1 being can I book a cabin online? Ha! Thanks again for this video, even the ranger we chatted with had no idea what trail or area I was asking about. What a wild drive getting there, and had you not pointed out the exact trailhead, I would have assumed it was further down at the William H Pogue trailhead.

      @@AdventuringWithNala Ya man, Tascam DR-10L, get one! I'm surprised by how few vloggers have them. They have auto levels and record into the tascam itself, so it's not two boxes, and you don't have to feed it into the camera. You just flip it on, talk, flip it off. Don't mess with settings or anything. They have a limiter so even if I yell or something I get littlle to no peaking. And they're only $200. Everyone has the video mic pro which I do too, but this thing is more useful and lighter. I'd tell every adventure vlogger to buy one of these before a video mic pro.

    Hey thanks for this really cool video! Question.. im taking my dad on this hike and camping somewhere in the trail. He's scared of rattlesnakes. What is the best way to keep them out of our camp? I also have a dog and would hate for him to get bit by a snake. Thanks again!

    • @JonConti
      @JonConti  4 роки тому +2

      Unfortunately I’ve never heard of a way to keep rattlesnakes out of your camp. The only way to avoid them is to get higher in elevation. Pick a hike above 5,000 feet and you’ll miss them. The Warm Springs hike sits right at 5,000, do that one instead.

    • @JonConti
      @JonConti  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Rachel, thanks! So there are two sites down in the ponderosa grove I stayed at, very easy to find and there was plenty of room for more. There’s tons along middle fork road you can pull into with your vehicle. The other camping I saw there was down by the creek about a half mile in. At .04 miles you’ll get to the top of trail. Here you can continue along the hillside to the ponderosa grove, or you can take a side trail down to the creek. There’s more sites down there, but they weren’t as pretty as the area I stayed at.

    Hi. Getting into mountain biking and can’t believe the snakes!!! Any advice, how many feet notice do they give u before they start rattling ? Thanks!

    • @JonConti
      @JonConti  4 роки тому +1

      They start rattling when they notice you. I talked to a guy that stepped on one in the morning, the snake bit him before it had time to rattle. This one in the video I surprised cuz I was walking lightly with bare feet, so I was very close when it started rattling. And we had one in the Owyhees that started while we were about 20 feet away. That's the key with all animals out there, if they know you're out there they'll leave you alone. It's when you surprise them (or of course leave food lying around) that you run into problems. So with rattlesnakes, take heavy booted steps in areas with low visibility. They will feel the vibrations and warn you.

      The Adventures of Jon & Chad why don’t u or everybody kill em. I was watching Idaho fish and game and a resident called a rattler in in what appeared to be new developing Harris ranch area so police and fish and game came and transplanted. In Texas and Oklahoma where I’ve lived they pay residents to bring dead ones for money. Here it’s like politically incorrect to kill em or something. If u don’t kill em and a little girl comes. CAmping after u wouldn’t that be worse than killing it. A little confused and also understanding if u don’t want to say. Is it kind of like talking to pro hunters vs hunting is bad or what? Thx. I love these videos u do. Can’t stop rewatching. Serious, beautiful and also humor to keep us on our toes. Great vids that my wife kids and I love to watch together thx.
