Very well done! And what's more - no annoying 'going into too much of details' short and encompassing, all that i like about such manual videos.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this. I had deleted the app because I didn't know how to use it. Now i've installed it back and am following along with you. Your ungraded shots look sooooo good.
Excellent work, Patrick!
Is this app have the focus peaking marker feature?
You've mentioned @ 14:29 that resolve already knows that DNGs are Rec.709 but the ones i've generated from within the app actually contain non-debayered 16-bit tiff which suggests that the raw camera profile should be used, which should easily cover even Rec.2020. What am i missing, where is sensor color information translated into rec.709 and alike?
Thanks a lot for the video.. Hopefully I'll learn to make better videos
This is great, Thanks for your selflessness
Anytime 🤓👍🏾
great video pal
Glad you enjoyed
Hi, thank you for this video. I have the Motioncam app. Unfortunately for me I can't import DNG files in my Davinci (I guess my NVIDIA GPUs are too old). Do you know another good video editor that can use DNG files. Thank you.
WOW! Awsome job right there, maybe in another vídeo, you can add and recommend us some filters to create a More movielike style, that would be terrific. And other thing, you have a gimbal? Maybe this also improve a lot the final results. Thank you so much! Cheers from México!
Sure thing!
what do they mean by dropped frames?and how do I get more fps? it's only showing 23.xx fps when selecting 30fps and even less like 18fps when selecting 24fps
Hey patrick can i record directly on external ssd or need transfer files after finishing recording videos?
Yes I have done both the SSD way sometimes the app would crash so what I like to do is rec to the phone fill it's up then download to my Samsung SSD and just repeat that over and over it works well for me
Excuse me, sorry but what android phone does best for this beautiful RAW dng app?
The developer recommends OnePlus 10 pro. But is capable on a lot of phones. I currently use the pixel 7 pro with no issue
Why my footage has vignette? Im using s22 ultra
hello patrick , i have a question. Im use motioncam pro and today i buy SD micro card 512GB 130MB/S but i have all the time problem with dropped frame. Is possible to fix it? do u have some tips? Thanx
I record straight to my internal hard drive it's a lot faster than going to any card or SD I've had the best results with that
I was thinking of doing the SD card, with lower res - do you still get dropped frame at say 1440p?
where is exactly the location of .container files? the app crashes every time i try to open "manage videos" button. is it somehow possible to use the app without it?
You need to set it up in the settings
Ya it does that some time I just keep trying and it works 🤪
@@patricklevar ok
i read somewhere on forums stated that he was recording raw video straight to usb 3.0 ssd. Can you confirm if this is even possible?
thx
Yep I have done it but for me it crashed the app alot of times and it kills my phone 🤳🏾 battery really fast but it can be done 👍
@@patricklevar 🤔maybe could be solved by connecting a powerbank...app crashes could be power consumption issues.but all that kills the "mobile movie making" experience
Yep it's easier for me to film tell the phone is full then download it to hard drive and repeat
I talked about my workflow in this video
ua-cam.com/video/IPGYR9VLp3U/v-deo.html
@@patricklevar reason this sparked an idea.....is skipping the convert to dng proces on phone...
I can imagine it would be a lot faster to plug in ssd and convert to dng like MLVAPP with magic later a little more streamlined workflow?
I purchased the Pro version of motion cam. But after rendering the video through the app in my smartphone it doesn't play in my smartphone video player. Then i have to use another 3rd party video editor app to convert to 1080 60 fps and then it plays
How are you rendering it? I had the same issue. It seems only certain render settings will work on phones
Yep you can't play 10 bit back on your phone it needs to 8 bit sRGB or mov. Or rec.709
@@patricklevar I can playback 10bit if I render it using sRGB or cineon log using h264 or h265. But 8bit does seem to play nicer. I can't playback 12 bit though
Ok really nice 👍🏾🙂 I never tried I always render on the computer my phone doesn't like when I render on the phone 🤳🤭
I usually just render in either sRGB or cineon log (10 bit) and h264 or 265. I usually stay away from vp8 vp9 unless I'm editing on pc.
My recommendation for anyone is just render at sRGB, log or cineon. H264/265 at 8bits since that seems to be more compatible on phones
Feeling better?
Yep 😄👍 back to normal 😎🙏🏾
Hi bro,,
Hello 👋
