I hope they keep the low level(no named actors) actors and focus on the cast that makes us feel like they were born to play that role. I didn’t know anything about the cast of ONE Piece LA and every single one holds a special place in my heart now. I have never seen a show were every single cast member is rememberable. Every single one!

I would like the only big name actor to be Jaime Lee Curtis please. The fact that she's been talking up this show and name dropping it at every chance before it was made into live action shows how much she understands the source material, and I think that's played a part in how casting was determined for other characters too. Any other big named actor, especially someone playing a recurring character, would be a huge budgetary mistake that would take away from bringing Tony Tony Chopper to life as a puppet so I doubt many of these fan castings would even be considered. I would like to throw Barnaby Dixon in as puppeteer for Chopper though.

With the budget, you have to be careful with which Hollywood actor/actress should be put in to the series as they may ask for more than what the budget will allow. I personally would like to see Jaime Lee Curtis play Kureha as i do not think she will ask for more than what they are willing to pay her, especially if she knows the budget will need to be used on Chopper.
Cavil i think would also be willing to take what is availble for his role should he be Smoker. But putside of those 2, i do not think we need Chalamet.

I dont think they put the "high class" or expensive actor such as Henry Cavill. Because Smoker got many screentime afterwards in future(refer to anime/manga journey)

Not only does she love One Piece, Chopper is also her favourite Character. She´s perfect for this Role as Dr. Kureha. Whoever plays Smoker must been already casted since the first Season was produced. However i would like to see a big Name actor in Sir Crocodile.

Cavill would do it if he loved the role...it isn't nearly as much about the money for him.

The only big name I'd want in live-action One Piece is Jamie Lee Curtis. Everyone else should be unknown. Think about it: the main cast of the Straw Hats is unknown, and the vast majority of the people watching bought into the characters they portrayed. If they keep hiring well-known actors and actresses, a very large portion of the budget would go into that famous actor's pocket, taking away from where the budget is needed, which is everything else.
That entirely depends on the actor.
Actors do "passion projects" all the time: they make next to nothing from Indy/art house films because there's nothing to make, but they do it because they either really love the role or are fans of the project or source material.
It isn't all about money, and someone like Cavill would probably jump at the chance no matter the pay (if Netflix hadn't just destroyed his last passion project, anyway.)
You forgot about Vivi. I would say that, in this season, she has more relavence than smoker, dragon, kureha and ace. She would be ranked forth most important character to the alabasta saga after chopper and robin (becuase they are strawhats) and corocilde (main antagonist). the entire saga revolves around her and we wouldn't have met robin chopper or crocodile if it wern't for her as we would probably have taken another rout in the grand line.

I think Vivi should be played by the girl who plays Ms. Marvel. She's pretty unknown and she fits the environment of Alabasta.
I think some of these choices would be cool, but I really don’t think they’re gonna cast superstars in the series I rather them, cast unknown so we could like believe that there’s a character or at least have TV experience and they have to be able to know how to fight well

Is Cavill an existing fan of One Piece? What I mean by existing is that he will not go "okay I will read the comic and force myself to like it", he is a fan already. This is important as one of the biggest reasons for Cavill's success in Witcher was that he is a die hard fan of the series. If he has the same loyalty to the One Piece series, then I would agree it may be a good fit. However, if he does not, then I would reconsider. One of the reasons the existing Strawhats have such chemistry is that they are all major fans of One Piece, as much as Cavill is a fan of the Witcher.
I still think he's too much of a big shot for this project. We gotta save budget for chopper
@@asinicw9906 Well I think they will keep a limit to how much anyone can make in the series to keep it in budget. If Cavill can live with the lower pay because he is a One Piece fan (similar to what I hear Jamie Lee Curtis is willing to take a pay cut since she loves One Piece), then they may hire him. If not, the producers seem to know that One Piece does not sell due to big cast names but rather due to the story. JMO.

Personally, I'd love Chopper's main cute form to be a puppet handeled by the Jim Henson company. Have you seen Dinosaurs and Dark Crystal? Those shows are amazing! And if Chopper is going to morph into his bulky human form, that should be prosthetics worn by some huge muscalr guy who can act (The Rock or John Cena maybe? Haha), and if he transform into his deer form that should be CGI.

The ponegliph with Roger’s autograph, the fact that Merry got destroyed beyond measure, the appearance of mysterious “person” fixing the ship, discovering of gold needed for ship repairing/buying a new one. It’s also the moment (at least when I felt it) when we see the roots of upcoming conflict between Usopp and the rest of the crew in term of Merry, which progresses later on in W7.
Besides, the idea of knock up stream and islands in the sky is awesome itself.:)But I’m sure there’ll be a lot of changes, and I’m interested what they come up with.

I think one of the criteria for being a cast member, is being a true fan of the series itself. Im also of the opinion to cast fresh people who hasnt debuted or has done very little work. If they start casting to many high profiles, I fear it will affect the show in a negative way. But I do not mind 1 or 2 "famous" people to have supporting roles that will be seen very little.
Also the shit about Crocodiles fruit, god damn thats stupid and I hope that is not a thing that they do, would really ruin it. Btw, alot of marines have eaten devil fruits and I wouldnt call Smoker a villain, but I guess perspective is important here :P

I thought I'll never love another ensemble after Game of Thrones and then One Piece Live Action Ensemble came along! I agree just like GOT I hope as much as possible they cast actors not generally known or popular (well of course aside from cases like Mackenyu) it keeps the excitement and the "fantasy" of the story if that makes sense, rather than focusing on the actors..also so much talent needing a big break..if not for this show I would not know these fantastic actors.
not mentioning Vivi is a crime when she's the main character of the alabasta arc, also the only perfect Ace for me would be Xolo Maridueña, he's got the exact vibes, he's friends with Iñaki too so there's that.

I think only 1 or 2 have to be famous or at least well known, the others have to be up rising actors, like the main crew, they have to put everything on the line because it's their best way to make a big carrer. Also big names have to be paid really high, and I prefer the budget to be put on chopper and everything else, especially the bad part of season 1 and its mistakes. Well know actor are good but there are pros and cons
Yes the money should go to Chopper, DF powers, sets, props etc. rather than some snarky famous actors who want to be paid extra for being famous and then not being fitting for the role anyway because they don't respect it. Only a handful of famous actors who is really talented may be part of the show who hopefully care about their characters and do their best to not disappoint the fans, so the money being put on them is worth it and make the show good.

I love him as an actor and could see him genuinely caring about the source material. So far though, the cast of one piece is solid.

All I hope is that they include a filler episode in season 2. One of the amazingly beautiful things about one peice is the world building. And having days where you just post up on an island is crucial to that. I understand the show is limited to squeezing sooo much into soo little. But having the cast bond and explore is a crucial part of the journey. Just my opinion!

main character should be an actor that is not that famous yet (if possible, fans should know them through OPLA). big name is fine for some side character that only shown once in a while or just one specific arc (in this case Jamie Lee Curtis is perfect for Kureha, she will play major role in Drum Island's arc and then just shown once in a while like when chopper got his first bounty). the most important thing is they should love One Piece and understand clearly who they're playing as.. not just from the script, but really know them because they read the manga or watch the anime.

Instead of CG, I'd like to see Chopper be a puppet handled by the Jim Hensen Company. CG is very hit or miss, while a puppet is rarely that. Think of The Dark Crystal or Labyrinth. The characters in that feel so real because they were on set with the human actors, as opposed to acting with a tennis ball for CG.
