Regarding bootlace ferrules, you use these if your cable is flexible multistrand, i.e. above 7 strands. Most fixed power cables are 7 strand and a simple twist to the joining end for barrel termination and splayed out flat if terminating into a clamp connection such as a MCB
I'd respectfully suggest that one of the first things to check, based on how the particular kit communicates, is whether that comms is possible. There's no point in installing a device which uses a mobile phone sim where there's no signal. If it uses your household internet connection, does the location have a WiFi signal or will you have to hardwire it? I say this from experience. This applies to PV and battery inverters too.
I'm sorry, but I have to point out that you missed a step. Before you install a Hypervolt you have to take it to the car wash and get them to spray it with a jet wash. I saw it on another channel
Hi the second install by you. Really hope my installer is as good as you M8, Really informative neat and very professional. I look forward to more reviews thanks again.
What size d-line do you use? I’ve been using the 16-21mm ones but they don’t seem to hold the cable that tight. Another good video 👍 I’ve got a hyoervolt next week to do
Can't disagree with the mains drill. Formally a gas safe engineer/plumber and I lost count of how many f!*@king battery SDS drills I ate through after 15 years on the tools; if I had to pick one brand to be generally the most reliable overall, I'd pick Dewalt without question. Not as many bells as the Milwaukee and less specialised than Bosch Professional, but for taking the abuse, could always be trusted to just work. Our firm went from Makita (that spent more time having warranty repairs than actually working) to Bosch Professional (great tools but the battery life wasn't quite up to snuff) and finally to Dewalt where our failure rate dropped by 20%. The 54V flexvolt models have even more power so theres a potential option if you ever decide to revisit it in future. Cracking battery solution there matey, can see the appeal!
This is incorrect. Multi mode scheduling also allows configuring which mode to charge in: Super Eco, Eco, BatterySafe or Boost. This is not possible with Ohme, and there’s also no battery integration with Ohme

A risk assessment (for toe crushing possibilities) should be reviewed on each job; not applied willy nilly wherever you are. I almost always wear my steel toe caps on jobs (out of laziness really) but when popping in and out of a customer's house it can be more appropriate to wear slip-on shoes that have adequate protection. Mind you, all those dropped screws before captured screws became a thing could do a lot of damage if they landed on your pinkies.
A phone "charger" isn't that different is it. Yes it converts the voltage but the smarts are still in the phone. Easier for the layman to call them chargers IMHO. What's the alternative?
Heard a lot about this new charging point, but my installer is recommending the Ohme pro. How do you think these two compare. Also apparently the ohme runs on a sim which apparently after 3 years you have to pay for the sim cost. Also is it possible to run Ethernet to these chargers at a later date if Wi-Fi is poor or sim charges increase. Thanks really appreciate your videos.

Great video Adam. Keep up the good work mate.

🤣🤣🤣🤣
That made Evan my missus laugh!!
Oh that's actually optional, as per the installation manual. Bear in mind, you can only use a carwash if they have a premium £99 option

This is a brilliant informative video!
Thank you!!
Great video 👍 did you use the best solution known to man… wagos for your ct in that Wago box 😂?
Another great video, I do like these EV chargers.
When installing CT clamps do you sometimes find that they make a buzzing/humming noise?
Thank you, I find that if they are buzzing a bit they are not quite closed up properly 👍👍
So if you had to choose between the Hypervolt 3 pro v Zappi
Which would you go for?
Hypervolt 👍
Is there a minimum height for the charger in the regs for you to install on the wall?
There is but you can deviate if required and noted

Thanks mate I use the 17mm to 19mm I think they are
I’ve got a hyper volt pro 3 works as charges but no led on the unit it’s self
You can turn them all off 👍

Hi Adam, the Ohme can be scheduled by each day how to charge
Thanks for the info!! I was just pointing out a new feature for this charger 👍👍
You said others don't have this feature, just checked my easee app and also has this feature plus adjusting the power

The charger is in the car. What you are installing is a charging point!
