Beautiful bouquet!! Your tutorial was so spot on-my first job was at a small, locally-owned florist that mainly did the flowers and table decorations for weddings, and we also handled the reception. This was in the 70s before wedding planning was such a big deal. My aunt worked there, too. We then went to work for Arkansas’ largest florist-Tipton & Hurst-also a family-owned florist but night and day difference! I quit to go to nursing school, but my mother also went to work for them in 1990, and she worked her way up to manager of the silk department by her retirement in 2008. Their silk department did a huge business (and probably still does!), and my mother told me yesterday she is creating several bouquets using an acquaintance’s silk florals-my mother is 81 and has pretty severe Parkinson’s!! I think I saw a puppy go by-Brian says hello 😘 - Rebecca
Beautiful , love fresh flowers , always try to have a bouquet from my flowers that I attempt to grow In the spring and summer months, I don't know why I am limiting my self , our Trader Joes has a great selection , thanks for sharing !! Sherry@Queen Beez Vintage ❤️💕👑🐝
Hi Sherry! Do not limit yourself . A $4 to $6 bouquet from TJ's is money well spent for all the joy the blooms bring. Thank you for coming by, watching & for joining in the conversation.
Gorgeous! So do I really need to put the stems in more plant food before putting in my display? I usually get them in some plant saver. In that case can I go ahead and put them in the new water from there? I mean after the new cut and preservative? Thank you. 😊
Hi Dee, floral preservative really helps prolong the life of cut flowers. Make sure the vase/container you are displaying in has it mixed into the water. Thx for coming by today!
I've always used sugar as a preservative although sometimes it appears to accelerate the opening of the blooms. Have you ever tried this method of preserving flowers?
That is a lovely arrangement. Trader Joe's has the best flowers! Thanks for all the great tips.
Thank you! My pleasure - get some flowers today!

Hi Pam, sugar on its won't preserve your blooms. Best to use a prepared floral preservative. Here's to a life filled with flowers!
