if you strip the leaves off the stems of your greens before placing them in the water, it helps to keep bacteria from forming in your water that then shortens the life of your flowers... beautiful arrangement!!!

I am a local florist, that is the first thing that came to mind! Completely agree if not flowers at least the greenery.
I also just learned that a drop of bleach helps keep the bacteria down to help flowers last longer
I realize you say you miss planning for weddings, and I realize that I'm not paying you directly, but you have no idea how much videos like yours are helping me right now.
Most of my fianceé's family is overseas, and it's going to be really expensive to fly people out.
For what it's worth, this tutorial makes me feel like I have a chance at saving money on my wedding day, and it gives me hope. You have my deepest of gratitude.

Such a beautiful arrangement. I liked that your video was clear and easy to follow. Only thing I would suggest is to lower the volume of the musical breaks a bit. The level goes up too high. Otherwise great job! 💖

I love Trader Joes flowers. Our TJ's donates their leftover bouquets to a local nursing home. One day I brought a friend to TJ's, who has some mobility problems. I was helping her shop, but then an employee stepped up and offered to assist her, allowing me to do my own shopping.. Before we left, the employee gifted Shirley with a bouquet of flowers! Thank you for this really good tutorial. I am now a subscriber (and sharing this).

I had 4 surgeries on my leg due to an ankle break & staph, and I was truly amazed how many very good ppl there are in the world; they went out of their way to help me, give tips & sometimes tell me their own story. That said, I can't imagine how hard it must be to have permanent mobility problems. I'll pray for her. ❤🙏

This was a great tutorial I always buy flowers from TJ and just stick them in a vase now I'll be more creative! I just have to watch out for the Lili and some other ones that are toxic to cats

Center height, in a long and low which you just demonstrated in a pedestal contaiiner , if you add a touch of center height, just a center bloom focal point, it elevates the whole organic rustic look arrangement. Very pretty and lovely video. Thank you

Loved your arrangement. I wish we had Trader Joe's in Australia. Fresh flowers here are twice the price ( and that's if you can even find somewhere that sells single-type flowers). Usually it's just mixed bunches of the same boring flowers (a couple of gerberas, baby's breath, a carnation and a sprig of greenery) for $25 or more.
You inspired me. I love flowers and nearly always have fresh ones. Have an antique pitcher that I’m partial to that I usually put them in, without arranging...but now I’m going to branch out, Thanks!
I work at a flower shop so some tips I noticed. Strip the leaves to the water level, take off the brown petals off the white spray roses and add cold water and a drop of bleach. Change the water daily and you can store the arrangements in your refrigerator at night to make it last longer. Love your eye though, you did great designing!

I notice some stems going inside the bowl with leaves, and I agree with the comment below that these leaves will create bacteria in the water, decreasing the life of the flowers, otherwise a beautiful arrangement. You can also use frog pin to do this arrangement.

This is a really great video! I’m always so scared to buy flowers, because they die right away. How do you keep the flowers alive for a really long time?
Using the pkg that sometimes comes w flowers, removing all leaves that would be under water, & changing water almost daily helps prolong their life. If flowers look the least bit wilted, I recut the stems bc it's the angular cut that really helps them drink the water - therefore, you can make the cuts close to the previous stems. By the time they look shorter, I just change to a smaller container.
Both arrangements are soooo beautiful! I'd love to have them in silk so they would never wilt! lol

Maria Marino love hearing that Maria!! I mean, a fresh trim, keeping the water fresh every few days...I do t really have any specific crazy tricks :)
Maria Marino getting some 'Quick Dip' to dip your stems in after a fresh cut before you arrange, splash of bleach and teaspoon of sugar in the water, retrimmimg stems every few days, knowing which flowers do best with only an inch or so of water so as not to drown them, spritz with crowning glory, or a bit of hair spray..even just some water! So many more on Google but these are the main ones we do in the shop! :)

Excellent video. Several employees at my local Trader Joe's say they get fresh flowers just about every day. The flowers are so inexpensive and last almost a week.
Do you ever use florists frogs to hold flowers in place? Maybe your grid of tape does the same thing.
