Sorry for taking so long with this one... the video was done hours ago but I was having unprecedented technical difficulties exporting it. But we still got er out before the Finals kicked off, so better late than never!

Ramy could start his own airline company with those wings
What KFC airlines? They would have the most fatal take off crashes in their first week than all airlines through out history combined. Also his outer quads look like they escaped geometry class. He is the first bodybuilder I have ever seen to have a three sided outer quad instead of arc shaped. He is great in interviews too. I speak clearer English after 20 drinks than Big Ramy does sober.

@@mmjnr10 I'm ok with Ramy winning it just proves that the title doesn't really mean anything because the Olympia has always been a complete subjective sport where the rules don't really apply to anything because they can't stick with the same rule set for more than a few years. This year it's the mass monster win like in Ronnie Coleman days and mid to late 90's. the last two years before this it was all about who has the best abs wins. In Phil Heath's run it was all about perfect aesthetics like it was in Frank Zane's run in the late 70's. The truth is their is no clear winner every year when you get down to the top five because they are all pretty much the same and it is all subjective opinion. Oh and about your sad opinion reply...... SUCK A DICK!!!!

It’s so close! I really want Ramey to win. He is looking th best he has ever looked on a stage. The other bodybuilders look like children compared to him.
I'm not a Ramy fan boy - although I like him. I always thought he would have to substitute a little size to get the condition needed for a win, but he brought both this year... a lean mass MONSTER! ... is that not bodybuilding? His quads are ridiculous

Ramy always look big on stage, but this time he is in his best condition with big size. He made others competitors look small. Ramy deserve to be Mr.Olympia.

ramy deserves the win from this pre judging IMO, he's just way too big and actually conditioned this time. Very surprising indeed, too bad no roelly for this comp.

I think Hadi had the complete package. Traveling last Minute screwed up his already insane condition
Phil’s lats aren’t there and his mid section is spilling out again.. doesn’t deserve the win imo. Brandon looks great in most poses and his conditioning is alright but his hamstrings are tiny and overall I feel like ramy is more complete and his added muscle makes him the biggest on stage so I don’t see why he shouldn’t win
Big Ramy , Hadi , Brandon ( he forgot his legs at home ) , Phil ( the worse abs between the competitors this year )
I don't think Phil will be top 3, it's a fall from grace but there's at least 3 guys who look better than him this weekend.
Brandon looks good but his legs aren’t cutting it and his legs are no match for Ramy’s lbh.
Brandon condition really great but legs don't dominant, Ramy fully dominant. But both are better than Phil.

@@ryszardpianecki1340 I agree. Not as dominating as he once used to be. However, I think if he was in his 2011 shape, ramy wouldn’t have beat him. Huge respect to Ramy, I’m glad he finally nailed his conditioning and actually brought something different.

Ramy’s front lat spread looks like Nasser’s from 1997. With the huge chest and small waist
Nicholas Semmes facts,but guess what the reason nasser never 1 an olympia title was bcuz when he turned around that's where his weakness was same as ramy from the front amazing from the back average.

I love Tomn8ers analysis....As much as I love Nick's strength and power..I'm not a fan of his breakdowns..A lot of times he's very vague and he can be biased sometimes.Still the best bodybuilding channel on UA-cam

Great analysis. You're naturally gifted in this sort of thing. Taught me a lot that's for sure. You could easily be a judge.
I agree. He is got good eyes for this. Judges very balanced, looks at details too but does not allow them to have lost the whole picture.
He should be on the panel.

Winter has arrived for Ramy, happy he's in a good place mentally (maybe because of Dennis James), and it certainly translated on stage! If he holds this condition, it's lights out tonight.

I thought a lot of guys out of the top 4 looked really bad, Maxx Charles and others look like they're weeks out.

Anyone else feels like Brandon's skin tone isn't doing him justice? We can't really see the details and separations.
The lighting on stage made it so that the darker you are the less details it shows. The 212 lighting was better

He did both the normal and the crunched down if I recall. He literally outsizes people both ways so I think its worth showing to the judges.

This one is so damn tough to call. As you said it's a case of apples and oranges. But I think it should go to big ramy. With all things 'equal', the winner should be the one who is the biggest.

Fantastic Analysis as usual! I think this shows how utterly amazing Phil was at his peak. He would smoke this field of AMAZING bodybuilders easy from 2010 - 16 with the possible exception of 2014. It took balls for him to come back; if not his worse, it's very close & because of injury, it's time to move on to a new chapter. I think Brandon was somewhat flat to come in condition so expect a fuller, better version tonight. I suspect Ramy will come in even sharper. Phil can't come in fuller or his stomach will be worse but he does have some water to drop so I think he may be a little flatter but with more detail, separation & striations which will work to his strengths. I think it could go 3 ways with Ramy & Brandon having the best chances depending on tonight. I say that even though Brandon is likely in 3rd. Phil would have to solve the distention tonight to win but if Brandon fills up & looks crazy, he could win. I'm OK with Ramy winning but the larger hips & smaller arms from the front poses than early in his career; along with a somewhat long torso makes me want to go with Brandon IF - he can bring in a much fuller package tonight. The top 5 make this a super strong Olympia & if it had Rhoden, Flex & Roelly it would undoubtedly go down as one of the best of all time.

C’mon now, Phil’s full lower body isn’t close to Ramy’s, his stomach is done and he wasn’t as conditioned.

Although the way Ramy is hitting the front lat spread does not accentuate his lats I really like the fact that he is putting together a strategy.
With Phil returning they must have sensed that they will get compared and it was all about highlighting his definition through the midsection whilst exposing Phils biggest weakness

I haven't started listening yet BUT tonight they need to switch the lighting for how they had it for the 212 & Classic. They were so clear & I"ve got a Super HD 43 inch monitor with 10 different presets & it was difficult to see the fine separation, especially on Brandon, Bonac & Akim - the darker skinned guys.
Did you guys see Brandon's posing under the neon goon lights at the finals? That was amazing posing. Especially when he hit the front double with a twist, he looked like a classic bodybuilder. Followed by that awesome swagga walk out of the goon lights. I thought Brandon did justice to his title.
I like Brandon's flow. He just looks 'better' than the others in my eyes

I agree with you Tom about the lighting, when they got to that third fallout with Antoine and co, I was thinking “where the heck is Antoine’s abs?” and I was confused, because Antoine stresses his conditioning so hard. Almost everyone in the Open looked soft in this lightning, I couldn’t see any ab detail in the FDB at all.
George Peterson looked soft, and he’s absolute nails every time he steps on stage, Palumbo even commented about it. And I wonder if it’s lighting more than him and his coach Justin missing the mark
The lighting was definitely worse than it was during the 212 prejudging. I did like the backdrop though, they kept it pretty classy.
Keep in mind, when Ramy is doing the front lat spread he is doing two variations of it. One where he is wide as fuck and then after that he transitions into this one that was showcased.
Could you make a video explaining how you judge? I'm new to this and trying to understand how it works, they all seem equally impressive, just different. So what do you look out for?
Phil isnt crispy like before his muscles looking like the 40 plus version of what Phil use to look like. BC still crispy and his seperations are clean overall balance is aesthetically still pleasant to the eyes!
Yea this is nowhere near the 2011 version of Phil. I’m not sure why we he came back. He had nothing more to prove. He won 7 in a row. I’m also over the whole dynasty shit in bodybuilding. If someone if off or getting beat, they should never win by virtue of the fact that they won the year before. That’s ridiculous
ANOTHER thing - Only Desktop BBing has brought this up. Because of the camera angle; (guys to the left of your screen while watching)
will appear larger & the guys to the right smaller. Example - 3:30 - Brandon appears taller than Phil with about equal waist width.
Could be a good point. I don't like to comment on stuff like that because it also depends where they're standing. Even stepping over the line by 4-5 inches can make a guy look an inch or two taller depending on the camera position. There's a lot of factors at play and it's rarely as fair as we'd hope it would be.

Even a couple of inches make a difference & Phil was the master of this nullifying Kai's only real advantage over him which was size & width by this method.
Ramy looks amazing other than his wide hips. They kill his flow imo. Still very proud of what he brought.

Brandon’s dark skin hurt him with the lighting this year! A friend of mine is at the Olympia and showed me pictures, close-up, Brandon is competing in every single shot with exception for the legs. That lighting washed him out like you said!.
Brandon has terrible hams and calves.

Thanks for doing this before the finals start, great review as usual. At this point, so many people have jumped on the Ramy bandwagon, I think the judges are going to feel the pressure if they don’t award him the win too.
