Dropping value bomb after value bomb with these videos. Truly humbled at the shout out - but make no mistake… you’re the one inspiring me. Keep killing it! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for responding to my question about this stuff. Although I’m on the outside looking in, it’s nice to see how you made the switch from karts to where you are now. Also, I appreciate your advice on starting with smaller series, then working your way up from there. Honestly it’s something that I need to consider for myself. Because Bobby seriously recommends that I get into this line of work. Though I find myself at a major pivot point and still having hopes that I can move up the racing ladder too.
Thanks for sharing Greg! I’m just starting out with shooting motorsports and really glad this video showed up on my feed! I got a couple questions if you’re willing to answer them: 1) What do you use to capture audio at the track? I’m just using a shotgun mic attached to my camera and the results seem ok, but not sure if I can do more with equipment or post processing. 2) I’m based in the US and trying to get my first media credential for an event. The GT World challenge event at Sonoma is close to me. In your experience, would it be better to contact a team directly and offer to shoot for them or go through the race organizer (Sonoma raceway) to get a credential? Thanks!
Thanks Peter! My Sony FX3 allows for XLR audio inputs, but also allows me to record a safety track -20dB lower. The RODE Video Pro + mic allows for something similar and is a 3.5mm jack for cameras without XLR inputs. As for Sonoma, reach out to the track, teams and drivers. Easiest way in is through GR Cup, GT America and GT4 America. Hope this helps!
Such a great content ! Even those not filming action stuff and/or sports can benefit from your experience and the knowledge accumulated. From what you offer us, there's always something to learn/understand. Thank you !
