That doesn't appear appear be the plan. At least I some markets they're adding a new channel, but not replacing any. So for instance if you get MeTV on channel 7.1 and Catchy on 7.2, they'll add MeTV toons on new slot 7.3.
@75aces97 we do not have catchy in our Market. Metv is 7.2 we have the laff Network which is channel 7.3 and 7.1 is our main network which is CBS and also our local news station. Do you think that they would launch another Channel 7.4 which will be metv toons.
@little.zayzay if Dayton is on their agenda I would guess so. What I don't know is how they decide which markets get which channels, or if every market they currently serve will get Toons right away. From traveling around I've found that Weigel operates in lots of markets, but not everyone knows about them because not all cable providers offer them (or because not every viewer is a nerd like me who cares about it 😂). Best bet is to try the ol' OTA antenna. I'm noticing from these videos that there are lots of enthusiastic fans around the country who either watch these channels or would if they were available.

cool Ruby Spears cartoons! I wanna watch *Fang Face* ! And *MightyMan and Yukk* ! So I can prove to my nephews that Man Of Action made Yukk into a Ben 10 alien !
This is very promising for a few reasons. Weigel has done a pretty good job filling nostalgia niches. OTA broadcasting doesn't seem to be a growth industry, but it still has an audience. There were so many short-lived animated shows from roughly 1960-2000. Most of them didn't turn out to be billion $ franchises, but would be great fodder for a cartoon channel in a time when getting a few million viewers is a home run. When you factor in Saturday morning cartoons, golden age shorts, weekday syndicated advertainment, family-friendly anime, and Turner era original cartoons, it would take 12 years of round the clock programming to burn through the whole loop.
But yeah, MeTV Toons should have the classic cartoons and anime, alongside early Cartoon Network shows and Turner programming. Maybe even some old school PBS cartoons to fulfill E/I requirements.
@@ArtieRaccoonReviews what are the current E/I requirements? From what I can tell PBS is the only nonsubscriber network that seems to produce any new animated daytime shows in the past 12 years.

One show I want to see air again on MeTv Toons is the Snorks. That is my wishlist item for MeTv Toons.
They have the Smurfs. Might as well have the Snorks.
The Smurfs and The Snorks are basically the same show
Mine too, and a lot of others, including the video game based cartoons, like qbert, frogger, and donkey Kong, ect..
Damn! That is an awesome lineup!! I hope they get this in Houston. I would love this!!
Also, I would really love to see Sheep in the Big City, Time Squad, and Swat Cats come back. Maybe they could get Megas XLR and Batman the animated series too. Oh, and Godzilla, Super Friends, Transformers, GI Joe, He-Man, and Thundercats!
Oh, and Jackie Chan Adventures!
All of those are amazing choices!
I'm Very Excited for this! i can finally feel at home again when this comes out, my only problem is that it's going to be SD instead of HD unless i wait for the FAST version or be on Streaming cable services.

Going to keep my fingers crossed for this one. The ones on there I’m most interested in are Freakazoid, Jonny Quest, Speed Racer, Gobots, and Rocky and Bullwinkle. As for stuff I would add, I’d suggest Fleshier Superman, SuperFriends and Astro Boy (1963). Definitely would like to see them get an action block like how Cartoon Network had with Toonami.
Imagine if they end up adding ThunderCats (the original 80's version, not the epic 2011 version or the disastrous 2020 version ThunderCats Roar) and also the short lived 90's toon Road Rovers!
Agreed! An action/superhero block is very likely
It will be great to see Rocky and Bullwinkle, and Boris and Natasha, along with Aesop and Son, Mr. Peabody and Sherman, and Dudley-Do-Right again.
I'm hopeful that once MeTV Toons gets itself established and have things going, that they will roll out a more Action-Adventure block of cartoons like SwatKats and the like, much like Toonami did for anime back in the day. They arent limited to that style of cartoon either, a eduction block gor the younger kids, the more 90's era cartoons that a lot of the adults will remember, etc etc.
Regardless of what they do this channel existing is a huge win for us animation enthusiasts. 😂
MeTV Toons needs an anime/action toons block kind of like Toonami Midnight Run or Boomeraction was back in the day.
I think they should add old anime like Astro Boy and Gigantor, as well as some other shows from the 2000's
I agree with you, Astro Boy would be perfect on MeTV
I'll take Star Blazers, loved that series as a kid

@@benstandardWell, it’s being managed by a network that has managed to broadcast timeless antiquated television seamlessly for 2 decades, and a few people who clearly knew their shit.

No, MeTV Toons is exclusive to the United States and is not available internationally.
1:44 Jerry Beck said that it’s going to air all the shows in 4:3
and all the shows will be not edited so the all the cartoons on the channel is not censored

Jerry Beck is doing an amazing job and I appreciate he wants to air all the cartoons in their originally intended formats, uncut, unedited, and the best way!
Unless of course they air a show that was produced in 16:9 in 4:3. PBS Retro has the same issue with their airings of Thomas.
@@ArtieRaccoonReviewsaspect ratio is so important! MeTV loves to stretch their programs and in some cases it's not bad but in others it's noticeable and unnatural. No
That doesn't appear appear be the plan.
YO I FOUND A LIST OF METV TOONS AFFILIATES AND THE ONE I HAVE FOR METV IS ON THERE. I REALLY HOPE THEY COME IN SO EXCITED. ALSO I HOPE IT COMES TO SPECTRUM
cool Ruby Spears cartoons! I wanna watch *Fang Face* ! And *MightyMan and Yukk* ! So I can prove to my nephews that Man Of Action made Yukk into a Ben 10 alien !
I hope it works!
MeTV broadcasts 62 different shows per week, which is IMPRESSIVE!
